It's a Wrap! My Picks for 2021

This is the last post of 2021 and I can't believe we are entering the third year of this pandemic. I hope every single one of you are healthy and safe going into 2022. Just so you guys know I read every single comment and I try my hardest to answer each one I get. For the lurkers, I appreciate you too! Thank you all for your support through the years and for sticking around my little review blog.

In no particular order here are my favorites from 2021.

Fleece Everywhere Belt Bag- This should maybe be an honorable mention since I also chose this in last year's line up, but I can't tell you how many times I grabbed one of these bags over my purses over the last two years. This fleece version of the Everywhere Belt Bag is just too good to resist.

Bedroom Renovation- Back in May, my husband spent a month working on our bedroom. Lots of blood sweat and tears went into this. The only thing was we had to wait 8 months for our new headboard to arrive. Was it worth the wait? YES, yes it was.

Naked Cashmere- One of the best new brands I discovered this year. So far I really love this Rowan cardigan I just bought for myself. It's already given me lots of joy wearing it.

Align Short- I tend to go through phases with shorts. I used to be obsessed with Speed Ups. Last year I think it was Hotty Hot Shorts. This year I've been alternating between Hotty Hots and Align Shorts. They're perfect for yoga and my Supernatural workouts.

Vuori Performance Jogger- This was also on my list last year, but they have carried me through almost two years now. Because of that they definitely deserve a spot on this list. I now own seven pairs. Vuori recently released a Boyfriend Jogger which I also reviewed, but they did not make the cut.

Athleta Face Mask- This is another repeat, but again so worth it. I have about twenty of these masks that me and my husband both wear on a daily basis. With Omicron I'm sure we'll be wearing these well into 2022.

Athleta Balance Sweatsuit- I feel like 2021 was all about matching sweatsuits. They're super comfortable and casual and make perfect work from home outfits. So needless to say when I discovered Athleta's Balance line, I ended up with a few.

This Balance Microfleece Sweatshirt was just released! 👀 I will be picking this up in Tawny Rose and Magnolia White to try.

Allbirds Tree Dasher- These are the most comfiest everyday sneakers I have ever worn. They're meant for running, but I honestly use them for everything. I recently purchased a pair in the Wool Dasher Fluffs and it matches my Fleece Everywhere Belt Bag!

Athleta Brooklyn Jogger- I also love the Brooklyn line and have quite a few pairs. I also recently reviewed the Brooklyn Lined Jogger and they are just as fabulous as the unlined version. Athleta's petite sizing has been a life saver.

Ebb To Street Cropped Tank- This has been my go to workout tank and I love that there's a built in shelf bra. It also does double duty as a cute crop top underneath hoodies. I wear these almost everyday!

Athleta Farallon Jogger- These camo joggers were definitely one of my most worn joggers after Vuori's Performance Jogger. Medium weight, super comfortable and looks great. I have a feeling Athleta may be phasing these out though. This exact pair is on sale for $49.99!

Aviator Nation- is another one of my best discoveries in 2021. This is a woman owned company based out of Los Angeles, California. All items are hand made in the USA which is why the prices are higher than normal. However their hoodies are some of the best. I've definitely worn their hoodies the most this year. Who can say no to rainbows? 100% guaranteed happiness.

Fire & Kettle- I've been drinking a cup of bone broth 5 times a week for the last 6 months. I'm also taking collagen supplements and the combination of both has really improved my skin and my knees are definitely cracking a lot less when I'm doing squats. They used to snap crackle and pop at every little thing. I'm a fan!

Coco Floss- This is the best floss if you have sensitive gums and hate dental tape. My favorite flavors are strawberry and vanilla bean. At $10 a pop or $9 a refill, it IS expensive, I'm not going to lie, but as I get older- taking care of your teeth and overall health is an investment folks!

Perfectly Oversized Cropped Crew- Buttery Softstreme fabric and slightly oversized but still petite friendly makes this a great work from home top. I definitely own a few of these!

J.Crew Cotton Cashmere Sweatsuit-2021 is definitely the year of matching sweatsuits and J.Crew really won me over with their cotton-cashmere sets. I have this outfit in two colors. Heather Dove and Heather Caramel.

HiBar Shampoo & Conditioner- Over the last few years I've been trying to reduce the amount of plastic that enters our home. This year I eliminated plastic shampoo bottles and conditioner by switching over to HiBar. It's completely plastic free. Ships in a cardboard container and the bar of soap is wrapped in paper wax. The actual size is fairly small, it fits in the palm of my hand and my hands are very small. I've been using this for the better part of 2021 and love it. I will have a full review coming soon. You can purchase this directly from HiBar or from Amazon.

HiBar | Full review coming soon!

Last but not least, can we really wrap up 2021 without mentioning Lululemon's Scuba Oversized Full Zip and 1/2 Zip Hoodies? This was hands down the hottest Lululemon item of the year. Unfortunately it did not work out for me and trust- my wallet is SO relieved. Even so, I still think it deserves a shout out.

And that's it everyone! 2021 is in the books. Have a safe and Happy New Year!

  1. I love your picks! Happy new years! <3 I have three 1/2 zips and reach for my black one I got from LLL Like New the most. It comes in handy layering a boxy sweater under and having it still fit.
My favorite picks from LLL/my most worn this year are align shorts/pants, scuba 1/2, dance studio jogger, WT shorts/pants, quiet within bra.
Though after trying Aritzia's boxy boyfriend full zip that is my most worn sweatshirt.

    1. Happy New Year Janessa! I got the XS in the Boxy Boyfriend Full Zip and prefer the fit. It's similar to the Scuba Oversized but more petite friendly. I like it. Ordered a couple of more in other colors to see what I like best. A fit review of the two sizes are coming soon!

Thank you for sharing your favorites!

  2. hi Leslie, That's great that your headboard has arrived, so your room is finally complete! I like to sit on my bed, so to me a headboard is very important!

Thank you for your consistent uploads throughout these years! I always look forward to your posts and fit reviews! You're the reason I bought my first Vuori performance joggers, Athleta Balance Sweatshirt and All Birds Mizzles. Those are all great recommendations!

Wishing you health, love and prosperity in 2022!

    1. Hi Karen, my husband was dying without the headboard, his pillows kept falling in the cracks between the mattress and window. LOL.

    1. Hi AmherstLulu! Those are all great favorites. I would love to keep a Wunder Puff Jacket but no need here in Atlanta... Athlet and Vuori for the win in the joggers department!

  5. Happy New Year Leslie! Thank you for your hard work over the years and I truly enjoyed reading each and every one of your posts!

This year I've purchased a few Align Shorts, Scuba Light Hoodies and Swiftly L/S as well a Hooded Radiant Jacket from Lululemon but the best purchase has to be the Winter Warrior 3-in-1 Parka I got from the Boxing Day sale. It's really well made and functional. :)

Thanks to you, I'm now addicted to Allbirds and have already got 1 pair of Tree Dashers, 2 pairs of Wool Dashers Mizzles and 3 pairs of Wool Runner Mizzles. I don't wanna see any nice colors coming out in 2022 or I'll be in trouble! :D

All the best in 2022 and keep up the good work!

    1. Happy New Year Andrea!

Wow I can't believe you have 6 pairs of Allbirds! I did not realize you had so many. =D
I still have more pairs than you, I think I'm up to 10 and that's after I donated a few pairs already.

Here's to an awesome 2022. I'm excited to see what happens!

  6. Happy new year, Leslie! I always enjoy reading your posts, especially the Lulu review ones!I think this year, some of my best purchases are Align membership leggings at the outlet, flow Y shine/align shine, wunder puff cropped jacket, lab asymmetrical body suits, court rival skirts and the strong line bra which later went on MD... Just to make a few. This year, I've tried new pieces from Lulu and ended up liking them (first year trying Align leggings, believe it or not!) Some pieces I didn't know got dropped until I read your blog - so thank you!

    1. Happy New Year! I did not know this was your first time trying Align leggings. Is it worth the hype? I do love how comfy they are.

The Wunder Puff Jacket is so nice. I just wouldn't wear it enough in Atlanta. Otherwise I would have one too!

I'll keep writing Lululemon reviews and of course if you ever want a fit request of an item just let me know!

  7. I think it's worth the hype! It feels very nice on and I even got a compliment from my husband who never complimented me on any of my leggings before lol. No piling issue so far but I have my trusty depiller handy :D

  8. HNY, Leslie!

The 2021 LLL holiday season was disappointing, but I did really enjoy all of the "highlight" colors released last year. There were a few pieces I missed that I hope to pick up in 2022 if they re-release. That said, there are very few items I'm willing to buy at full price these days--and even on sale (which don't seem to be as discounted as in the past). I prefer to shop second-hand.

I always look forward to the LNY collection, but I don't think I'm going to go as crazy as I would allow myself, based upon the HK site's drop. If the US gets the Dark Red LS Swiftly and 25" Aligns, I'll probably snag them, but that's it. I don't really like any of the other pieces.

  9. Happy New Year LZ!

Their sales really aren't that good. I usually end up paying full price for most of my Lulu items. As for LNY items I think I'm only interested in the Scuba Full Zip. But we'll see if the US even gets it!

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia. Anyway, today I have a belt bag size comparison review for you all! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.   Happy May! Can't believe summer is right around the corner. I'm looking forward to visiting my family later this month. It's been nearly a year since I've been back to NYC. I'm already thinking about all the dim sum I'm going to cram in the 10 days I'm there! 😆  Today I have a review of the new  Everywhere Belt Bag Extended Strap  compared to the original  Everywhere Belt Bag  that is slowly being phased out. 😢  **** Update - The original Everywhere Belt Bag has been phased out completely. The website has removed the Extended Strap from the name. The updated version is now called the Everywhere Belt Bag!**** For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.
