There was a pretty big drop today! Some interesting items, but ultimately nothing for me this week. I am very interested in some bag charms that Fount is dropping this Friday, so I'll probably grab a couple of those! Are We Entering a New Era of Affordable Luxury?

Some of you may know I've been dabbling in handbags for over 20 years now. When I first started, luxury bags by high end designers were aspirational. The "it" bag in 2005 was the Chloe Paddington and the price was $1380. The Balenciaga City was priced at $1195. The smaller First style was $995. Fast forward 20 years later and the prices are just insane. It's hard for me to come up with a premium designer bag that's under $2000 right now.  Top to bottom Balenciaga 2005 Indigo City $1295 Balenciaga 2005 Teal First $995 Balenciaga City 2026 $2,990 Balenciaga reissued the city bag for their 20th anniversary and the price has more than doubled what it was. Not only has the price gone up significantly, the quality of the leather feels awful. I went to the store to check it out and it feels plasticky. It does not have the same vibe as the original version.  I just googled the price of a Louis Vuitton Speedy 25 and it retails for $1940. Sure, it now comes with a crossbo...

Review! Puma Speedcat Wedge!

Happy Friday and Happy April! About 15 years ago, I had a couple of pairs of Ash wedges. They weren't that comfortable but I loved the look of them. Plus they made me a couple of inches taller. When I saw Puma released a pair, I had to give this style another try.  For reference I typically wear size 5.5 but for this review, I sized up.  Puma Speedcat Wedge Totally Taupe Chocolate Size 6 Fresh out of the box and I love the taupe suede with the chocolate accents. How cute are they? These have a velcro tab that adds a bit more of a street style. I have not worn these out yet to try, so I can't say if these are slippery or not. If I had to make an educated guess, I would probably not wear these in the rain. Since the wedges are made out of suede, I wouldn't wear them in the rain anyway, but Puma will be releasing these in a full leather version  coming April 16th! I tied the laces on the inside to give a clean look in the front. I think they're amazing. The real question ...

New Releases Week of March 31st 2026

Nothing for me from Lulu this week, but I'm currently obsessing over Frank & Eileen's Mini Belfast in what looks like a light denim but it's really soft terry. I can't stomach the retail price though. Sigh. Also waiting for Fount to drop the Mini Sloane bag. I'm eyeing it in Wolf. Did you order anything this week? I decided to keep the Banana Republic Oversized Linen shirt in Chambray . So that's number 6/24 items for the year so far!  2-1 Maxi Dress Willow Leaf (The fact that you can wear this as a dress is wild, see 2nd pic. 😅) Lightweight Cinch Waist Rain Coat Wacky Khacki (This is a pretty nice looking raincoat) Hotty Hot HR Short 2.5" Foam Cloud Dance Studio MR Midi Skirt Black (I don't hate this, but it would come down to my ankles on me) Define Jacket Butter Cream (I don't understand the Butter Cream obsession, but all I know is this would make me look really yellow) 😆 Brushed Twill Oversized Blazer Olive Brown (I'm all about a ni...
