Fit Review Friday! Athleta Retroplush Sweatshirt, Triumph Jogger, Balance Sweatshirt, Balance Jogger

Happy Friday! I can't believe October is over in a couple of days. 😱 How is 2021 almost over? It boggles my mind. I only know what day of the week it is because of my fit review schedule and weekly Lululemon drops. Otherwise every day would be a blur.

Today I have my last Athleta fit review (for now). For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size XXS/PXS in Athleta. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

I'm wearing size PXS in this hoodie and it has a loose fit but still petite friendly. It does look a little bit on the bulky side probably because it is lined with fleece. There are side slits and the asymmetrical zipper adds a little bit of flare to an otherwise basic hoodie.

The back skims over the body quite nicely. The front just looks a little bit off, I can't really put my finger on it. I think the body does flare out a little too much for my liking. Not too crazy about the bell shape. I might like it better if the color was more interesting. The sleeves are also just a tad long but I do appreciate the thumbholes.

Next up we have the Triumph Jogger in a really nice camo print. I wasn't sure about these joggers at first, but they have really grown on me. I'm wearing size PXS. I think they look great paired with a crop top for streetwear. I'm actually wearing Lululemon's Ebb To Street Long Sleeve that I reviewed recently. These photos were all taken during the same photo session.

These joggers have a loose fit throughout the leg and tapers at the ankle. The inseam measures 26 inches (this seems to be the typical petite length). I personally think these look really great with some high top sneakers!

The waistband sits right underneath the belly button. These are very comfortable and there is a drawstring to customize the fit. I think these run just slightly large but I think this is how the style is supposed to look.  They are also medium to heavy weight joggers, since it is lined with soft fleece and I know these will be great for the colder months in Atlanta.

Next up we have the Balance set. I'm a big fan of Athleta's Balance line and rotate my three Balance Sweatshirts quite often. The Balance Joggers are now in regular rotation as well since the temperatures have dropped and my Vuori's are being worn less.

I've reviewed both of these items in the past so I will not go into a lot of detail but when I saw this set released, I had to have it. I do love grays just because they're easy to mix and match (gray really does go with anything). I'm wearing size XXS in the Balance Sweatshirt even though this is offered in petite sizing. I think the XXS is very petite friendly as is. The sleeves are a little bit long, but I really don't mind it. This hoodie is so super soft and comfortable.

Next few photos are full body shots. I am just digging matching sets right now. That said I do wear the pieces by themselves.

This is my second Balance Jogger. I'm wearing size PXS and it's perfect. I love the waistband, it's stretchy and sits right at my belly button. This is lined with plushy fleece, so they are very warm and cozy. I like wearing them out and for lounging as well. The inseam measures 26 inches.

That's it for me! Hope you enjoyed this review and have a Happy Halloween! Stay safe!

  1. The balanced set is my favorite!! I agree the first hoodie looks kinda off because of how much it flares out? I love the joggers too but my fave pick is the whole last set both hoodie and joggers!
Happy Halloween! I can't believe it's almost going to be Thanksgiving then Xmas... then the year is over????

  2. Thanks for doing a fit review on the Retroplush Sweatshirt! Like you said the body does flare a bit too much and the back definitely looks nicer than the front! Sad cos I'm a fan of asymmetrical styles!

The Triumph Jogger looks a bit baggy on you and I prefer how the Balance Jogger fits. You make me wanna try the whole Balance set but I'll have to wait for a sale! :)

    Have a wonderful weekend, Leslie!

  3. hi Leslie, Thank you for the fit review! The Retroplush Sweatshirt looks good online, but in your pics, I can see that the bottom flares out a little too much. I prefer the Balance set on you! Medium Grey Heather is such a versatile colour.

I'm looking forward to Lulu's drop on Tuesday. I'm hoping for a Scuba Plush in a dark jewel tone, and also more holiday pieces.

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
