Best Purchases and Regrets of 2023 Plus End Of Year Sales!

This year flew by! I normally post about my best purchases of the year, but this year I'm also going to include items I regret keeping. Let's start with the usual favorites that make the list every year;  Hotty Hot HR 2.5" Shorts (which I bought 3 pairs in 2023), Bombas socks (their merino socks are freaking amazing), and another favorite of mine Vuori's Performance Joggers. I think I added at least one more pair to my collection this year. And in no particular order, here we go!

I bought this jacket at the tale end of 2022, but this ended up being one of my most used jackets in 2023. It's soft, cozy, very comfortable, and keeps you warm.

I could not just pick one Naked Cashmere cardigan. I've worn them all quite a bit during the fall/winter months. I wear them out casually and to the office as well. Their pieces are high quality and worth the sale price. Speaking of, there's a really good sale going on right now.

This is one of my favorite pants to wear to the office. I am pretty sure they get worn weekly. These are on the pricier side for pants, but so worth it. I would purchase a second pair in gray if Lululemon would ever release it!

This hoodie is so soft and comfy that I've been wanting to buy a second one, but waiting for more colors to come out. I love AN hoodies but this one is my favorite right now.

Dorai Bath Stone (on sale)
This bath stone is one of my favorite purchases of 2023, hands down easily in the top 5. It' so good we bought two to place along the length of the shower. I hated having to constantly wash bath mats, and having to eventually replace them. This stone dries almost instantly. You can actually feel the stone suck up the water from your feet. Not only is it sustainable, it's also beautiful. After having this for nearly a year, I have zero complaints. I highly recommend this.

Ever since my office decided to return to office four days a week, I had to replenish my work wardrobe. Some blazers I haven't worn in three years are still sitting in my closet. I should probably donate them but they're just still in such great condition and it's hard to let it go. My current position no longer requires me to wear blazers anymore and to be honest it wasn't really my style, just something that was easy to throw together in the morning rush. Oops, I went on a tangent. These Athleta pants are part of my weekly rotation and are great for three seasons. They're a little thin for the colder months. They really do look like dress pants, but feel like pajamas. 😉

I love the short sleeve tee version, but I think I love the tank more. They are perfect for layering underneath cardigans and hoodies. I have another one in black and it looks like Lululemon may be phasing out this tank which is a shame and now I wish I had bought more colors. They're currently all on WMTM for $29.

This is my go to shoe for the office. Looks professional yet casual and very comfortable. I would love to get another pair in Herringbone.

I'm so happy I bought this vest in Heathered Wild Indigo. It practically glows, it's so pretty. It's been fantastic to wear in the mild winters here in Atlanta. I wore it when we went out to the Botanical Garden Night Lights and the inside pockets came in handy for carrying my card case since I didn't want to carry a bag.

If you're looking for something different from their Performance Jogger, the Boyfriend Cargo Jogger is just as comfortable and has extra pockets! These are roomier and run large. I recommend sizing down one size.

This bag turns out was my most used purse of 2023. It's so lightweight and easy to carry. The optional crossbody strap makes this bag versatile and easy to use when you want to be hands free. The denim is soft and sturdy. It's definitely one of my more expensive purses, but no regrets!

This is a very controversial wrap. You either love it or hate it. I think if the haters tried it on, most would probably end up loving it. I was curious enough that I wanted to see for myself which side I would be on. Turns out, I loved it. It feels like being wrapped up in a blanket. Plus, I love the color. I think it looks pretty cute and I have used it going to and from the office. It's perfection.

I think these are my new favorite Allbirds. I've been wearing these more than my Tree Dasher Relays and you all know how much I love those. I also caved and ordered them in Vibrant Teal. Could not pass up that colorway with the 30% off sale.

These joggers are petite friendly and perfect for lounging around winter nights or wear them out if you want to feel warm and cozy. I really wish Lululemon would release more colors in these crops.

Now for my regrets!!

There are a few purchases I wish I would have returned because I just didn't end up wearing them like I thought I would. There aren't many, thankfully, but I did learn a couple of things from these items.

I love the look of this top, but never did end up wearing it. I might have worn it once. It's so comfortable but I think because it's very thin and sheer, it's best for cooling down/warming up at the gym. Which is something I never think of to do, I just go right into the gym with my tank top and shorts. 😑

Same thing happened with this bra. I haven't worn this yet. I always grab an Ebb To Street Tank (has a built in shelf bra) and a pair of Hotty Hot Shorts, it's my go to workout uniform. I hardly ever wear a workout bra and a tank anymore. So the three bras and handful of tanks I own, just sit in my closet. I guess I keep them around for emergencies when I run out of ETS Tanks, which hasn't happened yet... 😆

While I loved the look of this crewneck sweatshirt, I realized I am not a fan of the wide band at the hem. I ended up gifting this to my sister.

Those are my regrets, which isn't bad in my book. Let me know what are your best purchases and regrets of 2023! I can't wait to see what 2024 brings. That's it for me and I hope you all have a safe, happy, and healthy New Year. See you all soon!

  1. Hi Leslie,
My LLL Boxing Day order just came in and I’m surprised at how much I love the Waffle-Knit Funnel-Neck Long-Sleeve Shirt. The neck opening is kind of small and the fabric is not stretchy at all but other than that, the shirt is perfect. It’s soft, light and warm, and size 2 fits like a glove on me. I ordered it in both Rhino Grey and Black and love them both. At 50% off they have to be one of the best purchases I’ve made in 2023.

My best purchases in 2023 also include Allbirds Women's Wool Runner Mizzles in Stormy Mauve, LLL Adapted State High-Rise Fleece Jogger
Full Length in Rhino Grey and Black, TNA The Pillow Puff (both short and long) from Aritzia, as well as LLL Wunder Puff Jacket in beautiful Heathered Wild Indigo.

Let’s hope LLL will finally bring back the OTF 7/8 and cropped pant in 2024!

    1. Hi Andrea! Wow 50% off the Waffle Knit Funnel Neck LS Shirt is amazing. So glad you love it! Heathered Wild Indigo is one of my favorite Lulu colors. I wish they released it in the cropped version of the jacket.

We keep hoping for the OTF to come back, don't we? The pairs I have have been worn so much, but they are still in decent shape. I hope they last me a few more years.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
