Fit Request Monday! Scuba Oversized Funnel Neck Full Zip & Ribbed Softstreme Mid Rise Wide Leg Cropped Pant 25 inches

Hope you all had a nice weekend! This is my first Lululemon order since my no-buy challenge last month. I'm splitting it into two posts. The second post I will be reviewing the Soft Jersey items and that will be up for Friday. Last month I received a fit request for the Scuba Oversized Funnel Neck Full Zip and much to my surprise, it wasn't as oversized on my petite frame as I thought it would be.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

Given how short I am, I expected this to reach my knees. 😆 So I was pleasantly surprised when I put this on and it only reached mid-thigh. The back is longer and covers my bum and then some. I really like how the jacket looks when it's unzipped versus fully zipped. It actually reminds me of the J.Crew Lodge Coat I tried on a couple of years ago but not as classy.

The sleeves are way too long, and they cover my fingers completely when fully extended. I took a lot of photos showing how the jacket looks with my hands in the pockets and not. I think the jacket looks great (I know this isn't really a jacket or a coat, but it certainly feels that way to me.) when my hands are in the pockets, as it makes the sleeves look less humongous.

I had to edit the photos a little bit because of lighting issues, but Storm Teal is really pretty and I'm not usually a green person. The color looks very close to these photos, but maybe a little less saturated. I wouldn't mind having a coat in this color.

If you have mild winters, this would make a nice jacket/coat since there's so much room to layer. I also like that there isn't a hood and this makes it feel more like a coat. Sometimes these hoods can get in the way, especially when I'm wearing a crossbody bag.

The comfort level of this piece gets a 10 out of 10 for me. It's medium weight and feels very soft. It's not the most flattering piece, but I do think it can be rather practical to wear when the weather gets closer to winter temperatures.

The price is $148, which I think it's a little high considering the inside is not lined and the Lululemon logo looks like this on the inside:

This just looks cheap, doesn't it?! 😑

I was really surprised to see the logo was just stitched on like this. I don't think I've ever seen that before on any of my other Scubas since they are all lined. So I would say the Scuba Oversized Funnel Neck Full Zip is not worth it at full price. I think I would pay up to $99 for it, but the cheap inside logo really turns me off! Am I being super picky? Let me know what your thoughts are on this.

About a year and a half ago, when I started going back to the office they told us that it would be hybrid going forward and we weren't expected to go back to the office five days a week. This led me to get rid of 50% of my work clothes. I figured I just didn't need all these pants and sweaters anymore. Well, all that's changed. They rescinded the two to three days a week and now everyone has to go in four to five days. 😢 Needless to say I'm really annoyed about the whole thing. I decided I needed to replenish my work wardrobe a little bit.

That's where the Ribbed Softstreme Mid-Rise Wide-Leg Cropped Pant 25" comes in. If I'm going back to the office regularly I might as well be super comfortable. These pants are heavier since it's ribbed and made of Softstreme. Softstreme is weighty to begin with.

They do have a very nice drape.

I sized up in these for comfort and I think they still look very flattering. There is a seam that runs down the front and back of the pant which elongates my legs. You can feel the seam a little bit but not enough for it to bother me since the pants are quite loose in the leg.

The waistband is stretchy and comfortable with an adjustable cord. These are mid-rise and hits at my belly button. The ribbing does remind me of corduroy so for me, these will be a fall/winter pant.

Price is high for these at $138. Considering I cannot find anything I don't like about these and I plan on wearing them to the office I am going to keep it. I think they look great with Rothy's Drivers and paired with a cute cardigan. I would definitely consider getting these pants in another color but you really can't go wrong with black! Not gonna lie, these will also make me feel a little bit better about going to the office.

That's it for me! I hope you all have a wonderful start to a brand new week. This will be my first four day work week. Wish me luck. 😩

  1. Thanks for the reviews! I was wondering how those Softstreme pants would be. I definitely want a pair now! I see you sized up - do you think these would be too small in your regular size 4? There are a couple of reviews that say they run a little small, and I think the size up fits you nicely. I'm really drawn to the Dark Forest color, but black would probably be more versatile...

The Scuba is just okay. I don't think you're being picky about the logo. Lulu is supposed to be known for its quality, and it's reflected in their high prices. If they're going to charge $158 (!!!) for a Scuba, the quality needs to be reflected in that price. They can't be cheaping out on the details. That teal is a great color on you though!

    1. Hi Lola! I'd say the Softstreme Pant runs a little bit small. The 4 would probably have been tighter than I'd like. I always like to size up in pants though, especially if I'm wearing them to the office. I want to be as comfortable as possible. I also like True Navy, but I already have a non- Softstreme pair in that color. Would definitely jump on a gray or nice brown shade. A little boring, but it's easy to wear to the office.

Yeah! Thank you! That sewn on patch does not look like good quality to me. They really need to redesign the inside of that Scuba.

  2. Great reviews, Leslie! Believe it or not, I have currently have 0 scubas in my collection. None have the combo of features I want, so I guess they just aren't for me.

I'm so jealous the cropped pant length works for you! I need a 28-29" inseam for them not to look silly, so I can't do the crop, and I have to get the full length version hemmed, if that's even an option (i.e. if they have a size zipper). They look really nice on you! I'm in between a 2/4 in bottoms and also prefer to size up in Softstreme. The waist is always a bit snug in my smaller size.

    1. Hi LZ! Wow ZERO! That is pretty amazing. I have 3 of the regular full zip Scuba styles that I've been debating on rehoming. Then I'll have 2 of the cropped OS FZ that I do like a lot more.

Yeah I highly recommend sizing up for pant bottoms. If they're even a smidge too tight I just tend not to want to wear them. If you really love the wide leg ones, I would consider getting the full length ones cropped. I wish they would bring back the side slit Softstreme crops, I love those and wish I had bought more pairs. The leg is not as wide.

  3. I love the pants!! I like the full zip a lot but not at full price. I think the logo looks cheap on the inside like that too. I'm not bothered by it since it's small but I definitely wouldn't pay full price for this since it only comes in three sizes and isn't the most flattering

    1. Hi Janessa! Yeah I still like the full zip too, but wouldn't pay more than $99 for it. The pants however are awesome!

  4. Hi Leslie,
Thanks for another great fit review.

I’m also jealous that the crop is a perfect length for you. Like LZ, I need an inseam of 28”-29” for flare pants. I won’t consider getting the full length version though cos I’ve had terrible experience with LLL’s hemming service. :(

I’m a sucker for Scubas and have 14 in 3 different versions. @_@‘. A few of them have faded in colors but I still wear them a lot.

The Scuba Oversized Funnel Neck Full Zip is cute but do you think even size XS/S will be too big for me?

    1. Hi Andrea! Wow you have a lot of Scubas!! Hmmm you're quite a bit taller than me, but thinner. So I think it would probably still work for you, but just be prepared that it will be very roomy. You can layer another Scuba underneath with no problem, lol! I say give it a try.

    2. Thanks for your advice, Leslie! I will give it a try if a nice color comes out. Not a big fan of green. :)

  5. Thanks for the fit review! Have similar sizing to you, and have been wanting to see some reviews on the ribbed softstreme wide leg cropped pants. Definitely planning to get a pair (or two), now just debating on the color. Eyeing the black one for sure, and maybe the true navy or the java color? Thoughts?

    1. Hi Melody! I'd go with True Navy or I'm hoping for a Graphite Gray or Espresso. Java is a little too light for me but up to you!

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
