I'm officially halfway into my no buy month. So far it's going really well. I used to spend quite a bit of time searching for things online to review. Now that I'm officially off shopping for the month, it's freed up a lot of my time. 😆 As requested, here's a compilation of Athleta Girl reviews and if you missed it, I compiled a list of Athleta women reviews a couple of weeks back.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and depending on the top/style I typically like size XL/XXL in Athleta Girl. For bottoms I tend to wear size Large/12 or (XL for shorts). I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
Let's get started!
All Play 3" Short - This short is very petite friendly at three inches in length which is my preferred inseam. Fabric is similar to Lululemon's Speed Up Shorts, quick drying and wrinkle resistant. I personally like to size up in the shorts since they sit a little lower on the waist.
RetroActive Full Zip- Full disclosure, the hoodie in the photo and review isn't the exact same hoodie as the
RetroActive Full Zip, but it's pretty close to give a general idea of how it fits. Even though I'm wearing size Large in my review, if I were to purchase today I would prefer size XL for a roomier fit.
Cozy Cross Your Fingers Sweatshirt - This is probably one of my favorite Athleta Girls sweatshirts. It's super soft and comfortable and I have it in three colors. Most days I prefer the XL, but there are some days where I do like the oversized look and will reach for XXL. It's up to you! In my review I cover both sizes.
In Your Element Hoodie - I'm a little surprised there aren't more hoodies available at the moment, but this will give you an idea of sizing. I currently prefer the oversized look and like XXL, but for a more fitted look I also like XL. It's really up to you with the sizing for hoodies.
Powervita Jogger - I haven't tried these exact joggers but size large usually fits me well. I linked to my previous purchases. Sometimes the size large can be too snug in the rear, but if it's stretchy, it's usually pretty accommodating for hips. My hips measure 34.5 inches. The length is perfect if you're petite like me, for extra length size up.
Polartec Tight - These are actually pretty nice if you're looking for winter leggings. They are really super soft and cozy on the inside lining. I didn't purchase these because it just doesn't get that cold in Atlanta. If I were still up in the northeast I am positive I would have a few pairs.
Get Up and Go Jogger - I have not tried these yet, but they look a lot like my
Brooklyn Joggers but half the price! I am guessing if sizing is consistent I would be a size Large in this as well.
That's all I have so far. Hope this post gives you guys an idea of how Athleta Girl sizing fits on a petite body. Have a lovely Monday!
Interesting that the comment I posted this morning has disappeared! Anyway, thank you so much for this complication, Leslie! Really helpful for those who are new to Athleta!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Sorry that happened! Glad you find these posts helpful. Can't wait for Athleta to finally arrive to Canada. I've only been saying this for the last 4 years! =D
Deletehi Leslie! Thanks for the Athleta girls review! I'm interested in a few items. The Powervita Jogger looks very good on you! The length is perfect.m I want to try the Get Up and Go Jogger as well! The Polartec tights may be good for winter. Do you know if these are high rise or mid rise? I prefer high rise leggings. Have a good evening!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! The joggers I reviewed are similar to the Powervita Joggers. They aren't exactly the same but close. The waist on their tights is usually not very high-rise on me. They tend to sit right underneath my belly button.
Deletehm, I guess they're more like mid-rise then. Thanks, Leslie!
DeleteSuper helpful! Thank you so much. I'm trying to order online before a visit to NYC to see family next month (don't live in the US) and was struggling to figure out sizing. These are the items I was interested in!
ReplyDeleteHi Grainne- Happy to be of help!! I'm also going to NYC next month to visit my family too! Hope you enjoy your trip. =)
DeleteThis is an awesome review! I’m scouring the internet to find out what size I should get. I’m 4’10, 26” waist, 33” hips… should I get an L or XL in Athleta Girl pants?
ReplyDeleteHi there, I would say generally a large should work for you. Not every bottom is cut the same, so just be aware. Hope that helps!
