Fit Review Friday! J.Crew Cotton Cashmere Pullover Sweatshirt & V-Neck Cardigan

Happy Friday! I'm closing in on my first week of shopping my closet. So far I am enjoying the process. I'm putting most of my focus on what doesn't work for me anymore and seeing if I can give it away, donate or sell it. It's a slow process, and it's day by day.

Here is a fit review that I've been sitting on for awhile. I am loving cotton-cashmere right now. I find it to be a lot easier to wear than my pure cashmere pieces. It's also easier to care for as well. J.Crew has released some really high quality and soft cotton cashmere pieces at an affordable price. They're currently on sale!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and wear size PXS or XXS in J.Crew.

Since purchasing this Cotton Cashmere Pullover Sweatshirt in black, J.Crew has released more colors. I'm currently eyeing it in the Heather Caramel color. I think it looks very rich and warm for fall. I may pull the trigger on it once I'm off my ban. Sizing runs large and I am wearing size XXS. This top is not currently offered in petite sizing, but the XXS works well on my frame.

It's a very casual top but because it is made of cotton cashmere, it's a little more elevated than your typical sweatshirt. The fabric is medium weight. I also reviewed the matching jogger in a previous post for those who may be interested in a set. This is 15% cashmere and 85% cotton.

(Currently on sale!)

We have the Cotton Cashmere V-Neck Cardigan in Heather Dove. I really love this shade of gray. It's the perfect light to medium gray. Not too dark but not too light. It also very easy to wear. I have been hearing whispers about having to go back to the office soon (this was before the Delta variant blew up the past couple of weeks in the US) and was told to start preparing for return to work. This meant going through my closet and seeing what needed to replaced or updated since it's been a year and a half since I touched my work clothes. I really loved how this V-Neck Cardigan looked on the model and had to try it.

This is also 85% cotton and 15% cashmere. It's very soft but still has structure. It has just the right amount of slouch in the sleeves. I think it would look fantastic in the fall paired with a scarf for a cute outfit. This could also be dressed up or down. It can be pretty versatile. The length hits my upper thighs and the sleeves are not too long. I love the texture on this cardigan. It makes me happy.

A few more photos with the sweater unbuttoned to see how it looks. Definitely a bit more casual but still put together. J.Crew released a couple of new fun colors but my favorite is definitely the gray and then the navy.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a nice weekend! Just a few more before September rolls around. Enjoy it!

(I like the size 4, but sizing down also would be fine if you want it more fitted.)

  1. The cardigan looks really nice on you! Love the color and the texture, and size XXS fits perfectly! Definitely a versatile piece which can be dressed up or down. It's been a long time since I last bought a buttoned front cardigan and now I have to start looking for one. :)

  2. hi Leslie! I also really like both the cotton-cashmere pullover and cardigan on you. I like that cotton-cashmere is very soft and breathable, and is lower maintenance than pure cashmere.

If you have time in the future, I'd love to see a review on Athleta girls' products; a post similar to last week's review of Athleta products will be great! From the size chart, it seems that Athleta girls' clothes would fit quite loose in the waist and tight in the hips, but I seem to recall many of their items worked well for you! Thanks in advance! Have a good friday!

    1. Hi Karen! Sure I can definitely do a best of Athleta Girls post. I was thinking about that, but wasn't sure if it would be very helpful. I tend to be in between sizes. It probably won't be as long as the women's post either. I'm thinking 10 items or less. I can have it up in a couple of weeks for you! Happy Friday!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
