If you're a fan of Go Forth Goods, chances are you're also a fan of KMM. KMM also makes their bags right here in Atlanta, Georgia. I did get a chance to visit their store earlier this month and was able to see and touch their bags which I really enjoyed. I was able to get a good feel of which leathers I liked.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.
This Mini Zip Top Bucket Bag is a really good size for my petite frame. It is a mini to small size and can fit your essentials with a little room to spare. I prefer carrying my bags crossbody to remain hands free while I walk around. I opted out of a matching strap when I ordered the bag since I have so many straps in my collection already. Here I am wearing it with a third party Etsy strap and I also borrowed a shoulder strap from one of my Fount bags.
I think it looks best carried as a crossbody. The bag sticks out just a little too much when I carry it as a shoulder bag.
If you remember my review of Go Forth Goods Small Zip Top Bucket Bag, I ended up selling it earlier this month, and I wish I had held on to it a little longer so I could do a comparison between the two bags. The leather was just a little too stiff for me and I didn't have the patience to break it in. The new owner absolutely loves the bag, so I am happy she's happy.
The pricing is super affordable. This bag retails $275 without a strap. KMM typically has sales and I was able to get this bag for for 25% off which brought it down to $206 plus tax. Not bad at all. Go Forth Goods Small Zip Top Bucket Bag retails for $375 for bison leather and I think KMM's quality is superior to Go Forth Goods. The finishing details are cleaner and more polished.
Let's take a look at the details.
First off, the hide is amazing! This is their bison leather and it feels completely different from Go Forth Goods bison leather. It's very smooth, thinner, soft, and more supple. It's exactly the kind of leather I love touching. The color variation is gorgeous and this leather has a ton of pull up.
Hardware is a gold colored brass. Tan Rustic bison looks a lot like Dark Peanut bison from Go Forth Goods except I think KMM does it so much better. It also smells great!
The bottom of the bag is oval shaped. No feet, but I don't think bucket bags typically have or need feet. It's nice if it's there, but it's not a deal breaker for me.
I love the zipper pull. The leather pull tab is a nice size to grab. The zipper is also very smooth. You all know how much I love a smooth zipper. There are D rings to attach a strap.
Inside is unlined suede. There is a tag sewn in that reads "DAMN FIND GOODS MADE BY HAND IN ATLANTA, GA". I couldn't agree more.
I definitely laughed when I read the other side of the tag. I love a company with a sense of humor! 😂 I'm super happy to be supporting another small business that's right here in Atlanta.
Final thoughts, KMM is well worth looking into, if you're in the market for a new bag. Designs are simple but they're very well made. I wish they had more designs to choose from.
