Sharing another Go Forth Goods review today. This is a new design called the Zip Top Bucket bag size small. I went for Hickory bison since I kept hearing how amazing this particular hide is. Hickory bison is also a limited edition color that only comes around a few times a year so I decided I needed to see it in person.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.

This bucket bag comes with a shoulder strap, but I decided to opt out to save $25 off my total pricing. You can enter in the code "NOSTRAP" but you also need to select "I don't need the removable strap" in the dropdown box when you customize your bag.
In these photos I am wearing a third party strap that I bought from an Etsy seller for under $20 each. I have quite a few and the seller also sells many other straps to choose from if this one isn't for you.
I'm definitely a crossbody gal and love being able to swap straps to give a bag a different look. I have a lot of fun customizing the look of my bags making them unique.
The size small fits my frame well, I don't think it's too large at all. Because I'm petite, most bags even small bags, tend to look bigger on me than it would be on a regular sized person.
Here I'm modeling the bag using a Fount strap that came with my Sloane bag. The color Hazelnut matches the Hickory bison really well.
This is the kind of bag that will get smooshier and softer the more you use it. I would expect it to have a very nice drape once it's broken in.
Let's take a closer look at the details of the bag.
The hide on this bag is absolutely beautiful. I asked for color variation and they really delivered. I particularly love the pebbling and striations throughout the hide. It really gives the color so much depth. Bison hide is stiffer but it's also ligher than cowhide. I was surprised to find this bag weights just a little over 1 lb when empty.
I paired the bag with a Fount shoulder strap in Hazelnut.
Bottom of the bag has no feet.
Inside is unlined suede.
The finishing details are not the prettiest. It shows raw edge leather, there's no edge painting at all. Go Forth Goods is known for their rugged style, which I know is not for everyone.
But, just look at this hide! 😍
The website states it takes 20 business days for them to make your bag. Recently I've been experiencing five to six week turnaround time.
