Fit Request Review Friday! Tank-And-Short Romper 3" and Loungeful Hoodie

Happy Friday! July is coming to a close and I am getting ready for my no-buy August challenge. To be honest, I've been doing this every 6 months for the last few years, so I'm getting sort of used to it. I know shopping is such an addictive cycle at times, that going on a no-buy helps me reset my spending habits. For the entire month of August I will be pulling pieces out that I don't reach for anymore and I will be listing them up on Poshmark. If you'd like, please join me in this challenge! The more the merrier.

Today, I have another fit request from a reader. The Tank-And-Short Romper is a very interesting piece. You do not want to miss this review. Trust me. 😆

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

Tank-And-Short Romper 3" Lemon Sorbet Size 4

One hand in your pocket looks fine, both hands, not so much.

Alright, so where to begin with this romper?? 😂 It looks like a two-piece. It literally looks like a tank top and shorts. It would definitely be a whole lot easier putting it on and taking it off, that's for sure. I'm wearing my usual size 4 and would say it's true to size. The waistband is snug, I would not size down.

The length of the tank is pretty long on my petite frame. It covers my backside completely and the shorts slightly peek out from underneath. The tank is shorter in the front, as you can see from the side view. The armholes are a good size, however you can see my In Alignment Bra peeking out from the top and back. My shoulders do slope down, and my straps are always falling off.

The fabric is very thin and see-through in Lemon Sorbet. It's made of soft jersey and is sweat-wicking.

Now for the nitty-gritty. How do you put this romper on?! We start from the back of the romper. I pulled the bottom half on like a pair of shorts. With the top portion of the romper in front, pull the tank over your head. Putting it on isn't very difficult, but taking it off is another story.

The backside is not very flattering at all, it's a good thing the tank covers most of it!

With the front of the romper fully attached, you have to grab the tank from the back of the hem and pull it up over your head. It does take a little bit of flexibility and body contortion. 😅 I'm not even exaggerating, for a hot second, I thought I was never going to be able to take it off. You can bet I am never ever putting this on EVER again. Just in case that wasn't clear. 😂 Please let me know if you have any questions about this piece! Happy to help and steer you away. Even though I do not recommend this piece, I still had a lot of fun reviewing it. Thank you dear reader for requesting it!

The front of the tank is double layered and the pieces attach at the neck opening.

After that debacle, I've never been happier to put on a hoodie and sweatpants. The Loungeful Hoodie has been on my list to try for awhile now. Especially since Vintage Plum and Soft Denim are currently available on WMTM for $69-$79.

I'm wearing my usual size 4 and it's roomy but doesn't look oversized. The hoodie is very comfortable and has a relaxed fit. I think size 4 is perfect but I can see if you want a more slim fit, sizing down is an option. White Opal is probably one of my favorite Lululemon colors. It's such a great neutral without being too light in color. Although my husband says it still scares him because I am such a klutz with dropping food everywhere. I am not a neat eater. 😆

This pullover hoodie is a winner in my book. The kangaroo pockets are almost invisible to the eye, they blend right in. There are seams by the shoulders which I'm not too crazy about but it's not a deal breaker for me. The sleeves are slightly long, but I like that the cuffs are loose and not tight. The neck opening is also not too small and the hood itself is not heavy. There's no tugging at the collar which is always something I look for. Plus it looks great with the Softstreme High-Rise Straight Leg Crop which I reviewed Monday

That's it for me! Let me know if you enjoyed this post. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! See you all in August. 😃

  1. Thanks for the fit review, Leslie! It was fun reading how you struggled to put on and take off the romper LOL.

You make me wanna give the Loungeful Hoodie a try. :) It looks flattering on you and White Opal is such a pretty color.

My Athleta Scoop Neck Sweatshirts arrived and I'm surprised how tight the band is! Even though I've sized up, I still don't like how tight the hem feels. I wish it was more stretchy. Sadly both sweatshirts are going back.

Looking forward to your Seasoft reviews cos I'm kind of interested in the tank. :)

    Have a nice weekend! Andrea

    1. Hi Andrea! Loungeful Hoodie will be great for fall/winter. I am pretty sure they will sell once the temperatures start to drop. It's not a summer purchase lol.

I also found the band too tight when I tried the Athleta Scoop Neck. I tried the XXS, but I do think the XS might not have worked for me either. I should have more Seasoft reviews coming up next week! Have a great weekend!

    2. hi Andrea, I'm sorry the sweatshirts didn't work out for you. I'm glad sale items are returnable at Athleta. Have a good weekend!

    3. Hi Karen,
Thank you so much for your advice to size up! I’m sure size XXS would‘ve been way too small even for my tiny frame! :D. The band is ridiculously tight and I have small hips!

  2. Your description of your struggles with that romper gave me a good chuckle. I just can't get on board with the romper trend - they seem like just too much trouble. And as far as the Tank and Shorts Romper look is concerned, why wouldn't people just get a tank....and shorts??? I'm glad your reviewed something in Lemon Sorbet. I was wondering what that color looked like in person.

The hoodie looks super comfy, and as always, White Opal is so pretty!

Those throwback leggings have caught my eye. Lulu hasn't been doing much in a 21 inch inseam lately, so it's nice to see there's something potentially petite-friendly!

    Have a good weekend :)

    1. Hi Lola! Totally agree, the whole restroom situation with a romper kind of gives me anxiety. Lemon Sorbet is surprisingly pretty in person. I still don't think it's a color I would go for though.

The BlissFeels shoe caught my eye on the Throwback Inspire Crops, too bad I wasn't a huge fan of the shoe.

      Have a great weekend!

  3. That romper! Oh my! So complicated and it just looks like shorts and a tank top. Thankfully you figured out how to get it off before you had to go to the bathroom!

I’m not anti romper in general. Athleta had a really cute one I tried on earlier in the summer but sadly it was made for someone whose torso is 4” longer than mine. The crotch was several inches too low, somewhere in the middle of my thighs.

    1. Hi! Yes it's one of the more complicated rompers I have tried on. Normally there's a side zip of some sort to make it easier, but I didn't find one.

I'm surprised about Athleta, they usually have petite options for most of their clothing these days. But that is usually the issue I have with most rompers, the torso is too long. Bummer!

    2. It’s called the Marlow romper and sadly it doesn’t come in petite.

    3. I just looked it up, that is cute! Too bad it didn't come in petite. =(

  4. I love the Loungeful hoodie on you!! Very flattering. You’re much braver than I am… white or anything light colored is a no-go for me as I am a super klutz! I decided to keep my Loungeful hoodie. I wear hoodies so much that I figured it was worth it, especially on markdown.

Hope you have a good weekend and thank you for the fun reviews. :)

    1. Thanks JennyFromTheBlock~! I've been trying to be better about dropping stuff on my clothes but it still happens from time to time, but I really like the color. =T I'm willing to risk it~! The Vintage Plum is definitely tempting me now. It may be my last purchase before my no-buy starts. I have 2 days left. LOL.

      Have a fun weekend!

  5. hi Leslie, Thanks for the fit review! This romper doesn't really make sense to me because it looks like a separate top and bottom, which would be much easier to put on and take off! Design fail. The Loungeful hoodie looks great, especially in White Opal and paired with your Softstreme pants! Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Karen! Totally agree with you on all counts. The Softstreme pants are amazing. Glad I gave them a try at the store. Have a nice weekend!

  6. Hi Leslie, thank you so much for the fun review! Well it kinda just as I imagined how it would be when you wanna take the romper off... well well well. I thought the idea (though I also totally agree with other ladies that this looks just like a tank and shorts) would benefit me coz sometimes even if I want this look, I somehow just couldnt find the tank and shorts in a short time when I need to put sth on quickly! If it takes so much effort to take it off...proly not suitable for wearing it all day. But then doing groceries shopping or taking out garbage in a 128€ romper doesnt make too much sense 😅
Have to give up the idea how this romper can make my life easier!
    Thank you again!

    1. Hi Angeli! I'm sure there are better rompers out there that are a lot easier to take on and off. This one was just a miss. But I hear you about finding something that makes your life easier in the mornings. I try and pick out my outfit the night before. =D It does help on the days I have to go to the office. Have a great week!

  7. Thanks for the review! I'm not much of a romper-wearer since my torso is pretty long, and one-pieces are usually too short. Some rompers are super cute, but I really don't get this one. As others have commented, why not just wear a tank and shorts??

I hope a Loungeful Zip Pullover is coming this fall/winter. I prefer the style over the much too oversized (for me) Scubas, but don't like to pull things over my head and mess up my hair! I need a zipper--and don't care for the hood. Fingers crossed!

    1. Hi LZ! Wow, I have the opposite problem, torso is usually too short!

I actually really like the Loungeful line. It's more petite friendly than the Scuba line. Hope to see more full zips and a half zip would be nice too!

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
