Fit Review! Athleta Brooklyn Lined Jogger & Venice Jogger

How is everyone doing? Are you all finished up with your Christmas shopping? I'm pretty much done, I just have to buy a couple more gifts for my nephew and a gift card for my dad. On Friday I received my booster shot and was in bed most of the weekend. This booster shot felt worse than the first two. I was tired and sore and then my armpit glands swelled up on the third day. 😖 Hopefully I'll be all better by tomorrow. Anyone else feel this bad after their booster?

For today's review I have a couple of joggers I really like from Athleta. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically size PXS/0 Petite in Athleta bottoms. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon bottoms.

also wearing Naked Cashmere (old) similar here

I'm a big fan of Athleta's Brooklyn line and I did try the Camo version recently but returned them because of the weird fit in the crotch. I decided to give the solid color a try in the Decadent Chocolate and these fit perfectly. Super comfortable just like my other Brooklyn joggers. Length measures 26.5 inches. The waistband hits just below my belly button. I like the flat front and elastic back of the waistband. The fabric is featherlight and feels light as air. The lining will be perfect for the colder months. I don't think they're meant for freezing temperatures but should be fine for 40s and up.

There are two back pockets as well.

Decadent Chocolate does not have much brown in it at all. To be honest, the color is a deep burgundy. It's more red based than brown in my opinion. I love this jogger so much I am hoping I can snag this in black.

Next up we have the Venice Jogger in Abalone Gray. I am wearing size Petite XS and find it to be true to size. The waistband is on the high side. I typically do not like high waisted joggers, but after wearing this during my photo shoot, I actually really like the fit. The waistband is very stretchy and comfortable.

also wearing Lululemon Soft Ambitions Crop Crew | Similar Oversized Cropped Crew

Because of the high waist, it does look great paired with crop tops. The one thing I am not a huge fan of is the long cuffs at the ankles. I think next time I wear these, I may try cuffing the ankle up a little bit, I think it will look better with a shorter cuff. It will also look like a true jogger. The length of these measure 25.5 inches long.

The waistband is very high, it's about an inch over my belly button. There are two pockets and a hidden zippered pocket as well. The one thing I was a little on the fence about is how you can see the outline of the front pockets. I'm not sure it's a deal breaker for me. How do you guys feel about seeing the outline on pockets? Otherwise I think it's a really great fit.

Zippered back pockets

I've actually been wearing Aritzia's New Little Puff Vest in Total Eclipse quite a bit here in Atlanta. I like wearing it over my Aviator Nation hoodies especially. It works for southern winters nicely. I think next year I would like to add another vest but with a removable hood.

Wearing size 2XS | Review

That's it for me! I hope you enjoyed this review. I hope you all have a wonderful start to another week!

  1. Both joggers fit nicely especially the length, but I agree the cuffs of Venice Jogger are bit too long. The color is very nice though. By the way, I love how you put together the two outfits!

I’m on the fence about Althleta joggers cos I know the regular length will be too long but the petite length a tad too short on me. That’s the case with Studio Jogger, I ended up keeping the petite ones but wish they were 1” longer.

    1. Hi Andrea! I would check the inseam length, the Studio Jogger has one of the shorter lengths at 24.5" inches most of the petite joggers are 25.5 or 26.5 inches in my experience. So you never know until you try!

Thank you so much for noticing! I was trying to put together some cute outfits to show the joggers off. =D

  2. I really love the color of the venice joggers. I think they pockets look ok and I don't mind them being visible. The brown is definitely just a maroon color!

    1. Same! I've been looking for a pair of off white joggers for a little while. I can't do pure white, but a light beige I am willing to try. I'm going to try them on one more time to see if the pockets bug me or not. I'm leaning towards keeping anyway though.

  3. hi Leslie, Thanks for another Athleta review! The Venice jogger is a great fit on you. The cuffs are a tad too long. I agree that folding them up may do the trick~

My Pranayama wrap has arrived! It fits just like your review. Covers my bum, but not overly long. I love the modal fabric--so soft and drapes beautifully! It's a keeper!

    1. Hi Karen, I tried them on again and folded them underneath by half and it worked well. I think I will keep them and wear them that way. If they don't stay I will see if there's a way to hem them to that length.

Yay glad you like your Pranayama Wrap! I still have two left in my closet and I purchased them back in 2018? They are super soft and lovely. Enjoy!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
