Fit Review! Rothy's Lace Up & The Point in Night Metallic

Just like that it is February! I love a nice pair of sneakers. When I'm not at the office I pretty much live in sneakers. Usually they're Allbirds or Merrell's but I've been eyeing Rothy's Lace Ups for quite awhile now.

For  reference I wear a size 5 in Rothy's The Point and Mary Jane's

While I love the idea of a pair of white sneakers, I know I could never keep them clean which is why I chose the Golden Metallic Lace Ups. It's an off white- almost a bit creamy with gold stitch accents and color blocking on the body.

Fit is true to size. I wear a size 5 in all Rothy's shoes and this is no different. These are meant to be worn barefoot or with thin socks. If you're in between sizes definitely size up as these only come in whole sizes.

There's the signature blue halo across the back of the heel that is on every Rothy's shoe. It's hard to believe these are made out of plastic bottles. It still gets me every time I get a new pair in my hands. Since they are made of plastic bottles, they're machine washable, which is awesome because that means I can keep these looking as new as possible. I haven't washed these yet, but I have washed my other Rothy's with no issues. Just make sure you let them air dry.

Comfort- they're not as comfortable as my Allbirds. Sorry Rothy's! But it's the truth. The bottoms are harder than my other sneakers and they remind me of Converse in terms of feel. I can never walk for a long time in either style. These are fine for light walking, but if you're planning on being on your feet all day, I would stick to Allbirds. Unless of course you're one of the few that can wear Converse's all day then you're golden!

The laces are super soft and very slippery. I found them to untie throughout the day so in the end I double knotted them to prevent it from happening.

They do look pretty sweet, especially with some joggers.

Rothy's just released a new color way, the Yellow Candy Stripe. Very retro, I dig it! They look super fun and very 70s.

I also ordered The Point in Night Metallic in my usual size 5. These felt just a tad loose around my heel and would fall off so I had to return them. I won't go into a lot of details with The Points since I reviewed them a few times in the past. If you'd like to check out previous review of The Points, they can be found here and here

I'll indulge in some photos but they're actually more metallic in real life. These photos really do not do them justice. I was so disappointed they didn't fit. I'm sure if I had slightly wider feet, it would have been fine. I'm all skin and bones for feet.

I'm still eyeing these Mary Janes in golden gingham. Do I just break down and get them?? I have one pair in sapphire which I love and I find them to be really comfortable. I just don't know when I'd be able to wear them! At least with the Lace Ups they fit my lifestyle right now. The golden gingham Mary Jane's with the bow just feels so extra!

  1. That is the perfect white sneaker. Kind of dressy, not fully white so it'll wear in nicer IMO. Can be worn casually but isn't too basic. I say get the golden ginghams now! So you can wear them for all of spring and summer. I love that gold color.

  2. I agree- Get the golden ginghams now! When you put them on come spring and summer it’ll make you so happy. If you wait to long, they might sell out in your size and you’ll be sad. You have been wanting those for awhile. Pull the trigger ;)

  4. I like both the sneakers and the The Point Night Metallic! It's too bad that the The Point Night Metallic fall off your heels. They look very classy and the print is gorgeous!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
