Fit Review Friday! Athleta Form Knit Shawl Collar Sweatshirt and Rainout Roam Jacket

Happy Friday! Some interesting news today. Athleta's President and CEO Maggie Gauger will join Lululemon as Chief Product Officer, a newly created role. I feel both brands are floundering. They really need to hire new designers. It's very telling when I haven't bought/kept a single Lululemon item this year. I've spent more at Athleta for sure. Looking at my spreadsheet I have spent a total of $650 at Athleta so far. That's not a lot considering it's October! If it wasn't for Banana Republic, my spending on clothing would have been a record low.

Today we have an Athleta fit review. 😆 For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size PXS/XS in Athleta. I also wear size 4/6 and XS/S in Lululemon.

This sweatshirt stood out to me because of the unique neckline. The fabric is super soft double-knit spacer material. It's very cozy. I'm wearing size XXS and it's still quite roomy on my petite frame.

The sleeves are oversized and isn't the most flattering, but I think I can still pull it off as a very casual look. I really like the shawl collar, it really elevates this sweatshirt.

The length hits at the lower hip and covers almost everything. I do like how it looks with the front tucked in. This is the kind of top I would wear during travel, or you could dress it up for the office with a pair of black pants.

Next up we have the Rainout Roam Jacket. I had high hopes for this one!

I'm wearing size XXS and still quite oversized. Thankfully this jacket does come in petite sizes. Perhaps petite XS would have worked better for me, especially in the sleeve length. I have it folded up once, which allows the orange to peek out, which I actually like a lot.

The fabric is VERY stiff. It also makes a lot of noise, it sounds like cardboard rubbing against each other. It's not pleasant at all. Maybe it would soften up with use, but I wasn't impressed.

I like the length of the coat and appreciate the buttons on the side. The orange accents are quite fun. I think it definitely adds some fun and character to the jacket.

There is a small back vent as well. The inside is lined and overall, I liked the style of the jacket but wish the fabric was softer. That's it for me! I hope you all have a lovely weekend. 😍

Two items I may have missed from Tuesday's drop

  1. Love love love that sweat shirt! And the raincoat too, despite the stiffness that you reported. Thanks for the IRL try ons!

  2. A little embarrassed to admit that I haven't been to any physical clothing stores in a long time, except to make a return but I usually return and leave. Thanks for sharing about the former Athleta CEO moving to Lululemon, looked up a couple articles and found them interesting. Yesterday I was decluttering and felt overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I have. How do you keep organized or what do you do with stuff you don't wear or use?

    1. Hi Jean L! I try and declutter all the time. If there are things I no longer wear or use, if it is something I know that would sell for an amount over $20- I'll sell it. If not then I'll see if there's anyone I know who might use it. If not, then I'll donate it. There's a no kill animal shelter near me who takes donations to sell in their store and proceeds go back towards saving animals, so I don't mind donating to them.

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
