Happy Friday and Happy April! About 15 years ago, I had a couple of pairs of Ash wedges. They weren't that comfortable but I loved the look of them. Plus they made me a couple of inches taller. When I saw Puma released a pair, I had to give this style another try.
For reference I typically wear size 5.5 but for this review, I sized up.
Fresh out of the box and I love the taupe suede with the chocolate accents. How cute are they? These have a velcro tab that adds a bit more of a street style.
I have not worn these out yet to try, so I can't say if these are slippery or not. If I had to make an educated guess, I would probably not wear these in the rain. Since the wedges are made out of suede, I wouldn't wear them in the rain anyway, but Puma will be releasing these in a full leather version coming April 16th!
I tied the laces on the inside to give a clean look in the front.
I think they're amazing. The real question is, are they comfy? Or at least comfier than Ash wedges?
I'm wearing size 6 because from past purchases, Puma tends to run a little narrow. After trying them on and walking around the house, these are 100% comfier than Ash wedge sneakers. I'm not saying I would walk 5 plus miles in these, but I think they would be great for casual walking.
BTW, I asked Jared what he thought of these, and he immediately said No. I gasped and in my whiny voice, I asked But Whyyyyyy? He said it's because they make my feet look really tiny and the front of the shoe is so short, that it reminds him of pig feet. 💀😩🤣
I mean, I guess I can see where he's coming from. 😒
(I'm also very tempted to give these a try and see which shoe I like more.)
What do you all think? Love them? Hate them? How do you feel about wedge sneakers? Did you have a pair back in the day? That's it for me! For those who celebrate, have a happy Easter/Passover! Everyone else, have an amazing weekend!

(Also available in Indochine Blue. I wear my waffle Scubas way more than my fleece Scubas!)

Sorry but I’d had to agree with Jared. Iove wedge sneakers as I’m 5’3” and husband is 6’3”. I own several pairs including a pair from Isabel Marant. I also size up as my feet tend to slide forward a bit. I’m a size 7.5 and get 8. I think if you have tiny feet these type of sneakers make your feet look even smaller. I don’t have small feet but my feet look tiny in wedges. Puma ones do look cute and those colours are very pretty together
ReplyDeleteðŸ˜I see it too, but I still think they look cute. I did notice that by sizing up my feet do not slide forward in the Pumas like they did in the Ash. This will probably be my only pair though!
DeleteNow I can’t unsee pig hoofs 😬 thanks Jared 🤣🤣

DeleteHow does Jared know so much about pig feet? (Haha)
ReplyDeleteThese don’t really seem like your usual style. Are you keeping or returning them?
More thoughts: the colors are really pretty but they look a bit Star Wars to me.
DeleteLOL he did grow up among Asians in high school. He was pretty much adopted in high school by his best friend's family (Chinese).
DeleteI haven't decided yet! I kinda want to keep them! I'm still mulling it over. I do like the fact that they have a Star Wars vibe!
Let's not forget that I went to cooking school and I have an uncle that was a butcher.
DeleteI’m with Jared. They do make your feet look tiny and make me think of kids’ boots (especially with the Velcro tapes)! :D

Hi Andrea! So true about the Velcro. I'm still thinking it over. 😅
DeleteHm...I also agree with Jared. The velcro straps at the front cut off the look and make your shoes look smaller. The Speedcat seems like a nicer style. I wonder if they're comfortable though because the outsoles look quite flat?
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! I decided to pass on the Speedcat OG, I think the flat sole wouldn't be comfortable. Still leaning towards keeping the wedges.
