Fit Review Friday! Store Try On Lululemon Softstreme Cinch Waist Full Zip Jacket and Daydrift High Rise Trouser

Happy Friday! It's the last day of February which means No Buy Challenge starts tomorrow. If you're joining me this time, get your last purchases in. Once the clock strikes midnight, the only thing we can purchase are essentials. I'll allow myself books and entertainment purchases (movies). But no clothes, shoes, purses, etc. Feel free to tailor this challenge to what makes sense for you.

Now for today's post, we have a Lululemon store try-on. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 or XS/S.

I really liked the original version of this jacket, so I was curious to see if I liked the new changes. Visually the major difference is the absence of the drawstring at the waist. It actually makes the lines at the waist look cleaner. The back also looks more streamlined. I think it is an improvement over the original. I'm wearing size XS and it's a very nice fit. I'm a fan of the updated version. It's less frumpy and it's currently on sale for $129. If you're curious to see the original version, here's my fit review

The hem line is straight, without the curve in the back. The sleeves aren't too long.

I know you're all waiting for this review, at the very least the photos are hilarious. I mean, look at how much fabric there is. 😆 It's like the 90s exploded all over me. I'm wearing size small and it's just too baggy everywhere.

This is a very 90s grunge outfit.

I also tried on size XS, which fit better from the back, but the waist was too tight. Size small fit in the waist, but too much fabric everywhere else. Neither size worked for me. I did not find the pleating and wide leg to be flattering on my frame.

Going in, I knew these pants would not work, but just for fun I wanted to see how ridiculous they looked on me. Size XS looks better from the side too. Verdict? I need petite sizing already! That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you in March!

  1. Thank you for the fit review on the Daydrift Trouser. You've definitely saved me from a purchase! They are so huge! I agree with you: Lulu really needs to offer petite sizing!

I like the Softstreme jacket on you. I just love Twilight Rose!

    1. Hi Lola! Yep I am a sucker for Twilight Rose it is super pretty, but it makes me happy to know that size XS (at least on this jacket) fit me really well.

  2. The Softstreme Cinch Waist Full Zip Jacket in Twilight Rose looks so cute on you, Leslie! Did you bring it home with you? I actually like it without the drawstring which like you said, makes the look more streamlined. I did try on the original version of this jacket and was not happy with the fit. Size 2 was a tad small and the sleeves too short, but 4 was too roomy. I’ve never tried the new version thinking that even size XS/S would be huge for me, but it looks really nice on you! LLL’s sizing is pretty inconsistent.

I saw the Daydrift High Rise Trouser in person and didn’t even bother to try it on. There’s just too much fabric and the legs way too roomy! The style is cute but it’s just not petite friendly in my opinion.

Athleta is having a sale but I dropped the idea of trying the Seasoft Jogger cos I only wear joggers in winter with boots. I wouldn’t mind adding a few more pairs of Seasoft Straight Leg Pant to my collection though if I can find my size. :)

    1. Hi Andrea! I did not bring it home with me, I am trying to be better about my purchases. So I have to really love it to bring it home now. So far it's been working. I still haven't made any Lulu purchases this year. I'm proud of myself! I have on the other hand have been buying from Athleta, because their sales are so much better. I need to take the photos, I'll have the reviews coming next month. But I am looking forward to another no buy March. I can look but can't purchase. If I can hold off for 31 days, maybe I don't need it after all. It's still fun to go try things on though.

    2. I’m definitely going to head on over and have a read 👀 I can see why it’s a favourite

  4. The pants are way too balloony on your frame and not flattering! I think they're potentially pretty but I doubt I will ever try them on and don't have much interest in doing so. They remind me of Aritzia's Effortless pants which I have only tried on and love. They have so many fabrics though and according to the reviews say different material all fit different.... So I haven't bought any on sale.

The crater blue cates tee is a good deal! I like that color a lot and will consider -Janessa

    1. Hi Janessa! Yeah, I can't do pants from Lululemon unless they are cropped pants, even then the wide leg style can be too overwhelming on my frame. Oh well, I guess it saves me money?

The Cates Tee is such a good deal! Half off!

  5. Those pants are ridiculous on you though no fault of your own. Simply not made for a woman of your proportions.

When is lululemon going to realize they need to make stuff for smaller fit women?

    1. Hi there, they do have Asia fit but I guess they don't think there's enough of a market here to make it worth while for them. Sad... but in the meantime I will shop at Athleta for my pants.

    2. Leslie I ordered the softstreme cropped wide leg pants in sheer oak just for a try on. I’m
excited to get them. Will probably be full or ankle length on me. The fleece rest feel finally went on wmtm. I couldn’t resist. About crater blue, it looks more like a sagey green to me. Is it my eyes? But it’s a beautiful color and can look bluish in the softstreme fabric and certain angles. Would love an item in that color!

    3. Ohhh let me know how the length is on you!
Crater Blue reminds me of Tide Water Teal a bit. Def more green though. I like it and I don't usually like green.

  6. Thanks for the fit picture of the Softstreme jacket. It’s on sale now and only the XS is available in Canada. I thought it might be too small because I’m usually a 4 but thanks to you, I know it will fit with room. Thank you 🙏

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
