Fit Review Friday! Frank & Eileen Dublin Sweatshirt Blazer & Mini Belfast Cropped English Peacoat

Happy Friday! Earlier this year I purchased a button up from Frank & Eileen and have been really impressed with the fit and feel. It's very soft and just looks great. I have zero complains about it. So when I saw the Dubline Sweatshirt Blazer drop a few weeks ago, I decided to give it a try along with the Mini Belfast Cropped Peacoat that I've been eyeing for months. I finally decided to pull the trigger.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size XS in Frank & Eileen. I also wear size 4/6 in Lululemon and size PXS in Athleta.

About five years ago I was obsessed with J.Crew's Sophie Blazer. I had four of them that I wore all the time. I basically rotated them every day of the week at the office. I've been looking for a replacement blazer for some time now. I wanted it to look office appropriate while also feeling like I'm wearing my pajamas and lounging around the house. This Dublin Sweatshirt Blazer checks off all the boxes!

First thing, apologies for the photos. I'm reminded of why I don't like to purchase dark clothing. It really was challenging taking these photos. I had to lighten up them in order to see the details of this blazer. The fabric really does feel like your softest sweatshirt. It's that comfortable. The raw hem makes this slightly casual and not your usual rigid blazer. It's literally as comfy as it looks.

The sleeves are a little long and I did have to cuff the sleeves once.

I love the pockets. I've already worn this to the office and the pockets are a plus. In the bottom photo, you can see the full length of the sleeves on the left and on the right, I have the sleeve cuffed.

I'm wearing size XS and couldn't be happier with the fit. I would love to see this blazer offered in another color. So far this is the only color available. I would totally purchase another one, even given the steep price. There are promo codes out there and they do have great sales with up to 70% off, but they are final sale.

The Mini Belfast Cropped English Peacoat may be my favorite peacoat I've ever come across. The fabric is the same as the blazer also feels like sweatshirt material. I'm wearing size XS. The length is perfect for my short torso. The sleeves aren't too long. I love the casual vibe of the raw edges. It's casual enough that I would wear this a lot.

This color is currently sold out but Biscotti and Latte are perfect for fall. I've already worn this and it's so cute. I don't usually go for pale pink, but it works with my neutral part of my closet. Apologies in advance for all the photos of this peacoat, it just looks great at all angles. At least I think so!

While I am loving this brand more and more, I'm only allowing myself to purchase from them a couple of times a year. Although lately, I've been growing tired of Lululemon and Athleta, so maybe I'll allow myself a few times a year. 😅

I can't say enough about this brand and the three items I have purchased so far have all been keepers. I would love to try on their bottoms but I'm unsure of their sizing. Their size chart is really vague and kind of not helpful. So far size XS has been working for me as long as the item doesn't run small. I always check their reviews before buying.

That's it for me! Let me know what you think of these two pieces. Do you have any Frank & Eileen in your closet? I'm so happy to know their tops are petite friendly. Hope you all have an amazing weekend!

(I have not tried these on, curious if anyone else here has?)

(I have a pair of these in black, true to size and they're great for running and weight training.)

(I have two in this style and use them all the time, they are great little totes!)

  1. The blazer looks so great on you! I love the peacoat style too but I don't currently own any. It's such a classic for cooler weather. I love both that you picked! It's not overwhelming on your frame which I feel like is my problem with blazers and any sort of coat. I've never heard of Frank & Eileen before but I'm going to check them out now! I wanted the define in oil grey but I don't think I'd reach for such a form fitting jacket often so I didn't get it! Have a good weekend!

    1. Hi Janessa! Thank you! I feel the same way I just don't do anything form fitting anymore. I'm all about casual chic now. I feel better in it and less self conscience. Frank & Eileen are pricey, but so far I would say it's worth it. I will wear these items more to see how the quality holds up.

    1. Hi AC! Let me know what you think when it arrives!

    2. Oh no, no, no, it drapes so weird and looks maternity, I wanted so bad for this to work out!

    3. Oh nooooo! That's too bad, is it because it's oversized?

    4. Yes, it was meant to be oversized which I knew going in, but it juts outwards in the front and just lots of fabric to make me look pregnant. So disappointing 😞

    5. That sucks. At least you can return it and get store credit.

  3. Both jackets look really cute on you. I saw your button up Barry shirt review. I want to order it but don’t have enough for free shipping. It’s on sale. Have you ever gotten any promo emails for free shipping on no minimum purchase?

    1. I don't think I've seen free shipping, only promo codes for 15% off or $50 off a purchase.

  4. Hi stumbled across your blog while searching for review. I have a lot of F&E pieces, and mostly love them. I ordered the Belfast triple fleece in grey last year, and LOVED the look, but had to return it because it shed over anything I wore. F&E has great customer service, told me to wash it, but it still shed, and they still took it back. So my question to you is, did either piece shed on your clothing? Because I'd love to get these! Thanks!

    1. Hi there! I have not noticed my Belfast blazer and peacoat shedding at all. I love them so much I also bought the trench coat. Maybe you got one from a bad batch? I would try again.

  5. About the sleeve length - Cut them to the right length! This is one great benefit of the unfinished hems on the sleeves of Frank and Eileen - I have cut my Mini Belfast sleeves to the right length and do not need to cuff them. It is very satisfying to do!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
