Happy Friday! My DH is pretty much recovered from Covid, and I think I may have escaped it! I think getting sleeping as much as I wanted and not over exerting myself kept my immune system up. Today I have a Fit Request Friday! Athleta is having their warehouse sale with 60% off.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size PXS in Athleta. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

I actually wanted to try this top when I saw it on Athleta's website. It just looked so effortlessly chic on the model. I'm wearing size XXS and it's the right fit and look that I wanted. Still billowy and slightly loose, but not sloppy. My only complaint is the sleeves are a bit long.
The fabric is slightly sheer and you can see a shadow of my bra underneath. I love the drawstring at the waist and I usually don't like drawstrings because I feel like it accents my waist in not a flattering way, but with this top, it works! It does ride up if you lift your arms above the shoulders. Overall, this is a really cute top to throw on after a workout but you can also dress this up for a date night. I love double duty pieces. This is a keeper.

Next up, we have a fit request for the With Ease Muscle Tank. I ended up sizing up because it just looked so small on the model. I'm wearing size small and I think it works but if you do want a more fitted look, your true to size should work fine.

Damask Mauve Heather is a really pretty shade of purple and pink and right up my alley. It does remind me of Lululemon's Dusty Mauve but heathered. The fabric is light weight and and on the thin side. It's also super soft.
Length is shorter in the front and longer in the back.
I love the back drape and since I sized up, the tank offers full coverage. I do like how it looks. The back of the tank is cut slightly narrow at the shoulders. Depending on your sports bra, straps may show at the sides.
Last but not least we have the Wayfarer Bomber Jacket. This jacket is currently offered in two colors only. Black and Coastline Blue. I went with Coastline Blue since it would show the details of the jacket more so than black.

I'm wearing size Petite XS and I'm surprised at how long the sleeves are. The ruffles and ruching help mask the length a tad, but there's still a decent amount of excess fabric. The jacket is relaxed fit and otherwise true to size.
Zippered pockets.
The jacket has two layers that are connected at the top of the jacket. The top layer reminds me of a windbreaker jacket and feels smooth. The second layer is very soft, almost velvety to the touch and has an elastic band at the hem to keep the wind chill out. It's a light to medium-weight jacket but it's also surprisingly warm.
This casual bomber style jacket is very comfortable. I do feel like there's a lot going on with the ruching and the double layer pleat detail on the back of the jacket. If you do like the jacket and want a more subdued look, black may be the way to go. Coastline Blue is a beautiful stormy blue-gray color but I'm not sure it works with this jacket.
The fabric is made out of 100% recycled polyester and the price tag is $159. I'd say the price is actually kind of reasonable if you can get it at a discount. There's a lot of details that went into this jacket which I appreciate even if the style isn't for me. That's all for today and I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Leslie, thank you for doing the fit review requests. I love the with ease tank on you. Is it a keeper for you? I love everything about the bomber on you except all the excess fabric on the sleeves. Funny, but I'm trying to compare the length of my arms to yours. I think i'm an inch shorter than you in height but my husband says my arms almost reach my knees. I must be like a gorilla or something lol. Anyway, not sure if i want to take the chance and order the bomber.
ReplyDeleteHi there, not sure if I am keeping the tank. I like it, but I always reach for my Ebb To Street Tanks first. I probably have average arms for my height, I don't think they are long by any means, so your arms are probably longer than mine.
