Fit Review Friday! Scuba Full-Zip Cropped Hoodie - Is this the next hot item?

Happy Friday! I have to confess, I broke my ban and bought a couple of Velvet Dust items. 😅 I could not resist getting a matching set in the Ebb To Street Cropped Racerback and Hotty Hot HR Short 2.5". I was so close! I'll just be really good for the rest of the month. Is anyone else still going strong? I know you're all curious to see today's Fit Review Friday, so I'll get right to it.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and size 6 in Define Jackets. I purchased size 4 and size 6 in the Scuba Full-Zip Cropped Hoodie to compare.

Length  - 17 inches
Sleeve length - 25 inches
Waist - 12 inches (zipped up and lying flat across)

Size 4

Size 4

First impressions- this hoodie is short! Size 4 measures 17 inches long from the shoulder to hem. It looks very flattering on, it's fitted but not overly tight. There is some give in the waist but it does feel snug. The sleeve length was actually fine as long as I used the thumbholes. I have read some reviews describing the sleeves as "bat wing" but I personally don't see it. I would say the sleeves are more roomy.  The Thick Fleece Zip Hoodie has bat wings. Remember that one?

The hoodie is figure flattering. The cropped length makes me look like I have legs for days. I find this hoodie to be true to size.

Length - 18 inches
Sleeve length - 26 inches
Waist - 13 inches (zipped up and lying flat across)

Size 6

The size 6 is a bit more roomy, it's about an inch bigger all around and looks more casual. Sizing up gives an extra inch for the length, which isn't a lot but it does help. The sleeves are a bit too long even with the thumbholes. There's more room in the chest and waist.

Size 6

Size 6

The inside is lined with super soft fleece. It's not as thick as the Oversized Scuba's and I would say it's light to mid-weight. A couple of cons- there are no pockets, which makes sense because it's so cropped there really isn't any room to place pockets on this hoodie. You're also limited to what you can wear with this. You can wear this hoodie with two things, a cropped tank or a sports bra. It's not very practical or versatile in my opinion. But is it cute? Heck yes!

Quick recap of this hoodie- it is true to size. Size up if you want a more casual fit and slightly longer length. Light to mid-weight hoodie. Fleece lining is super soft. It is very cropped in length. Very figure flattering.

Cons - Not versatile. Limited to what you can wear underneath. No pockets!

Size 4 on the left | Size 6 on the right

This was a return for me. I like the fit of the size 4, but prefer a longer length. I don't think I will purchase this just because of how cropped it is. Do you guys think this is the next IT item? Sound off below!

Color comparison for those who might want to see the very slight differences between Bone, Natural Ivory and White Opal taken in natural lighting. Bone is the lightest of the three colors and it also has a yellow undertone. That's it for today, hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

  1. The sz 4 cropped scuba looks so cute on u! This is not as cropped as the cropped define so still versatile for me. Any jackets that's more cropped than the cropped define is truly non versatile for me... Saw Lotsa Reddit posts on this jacket so it's definitely popular! Hoping for a cute pink color next :D

    1. Hi Blueberries! So true, this is definitely more versatile than the cropped Define. I would probably only use the hoodie for a layering piece for working out. I just can't see myself wearing it out casually. Same for the cropped Define. I do like this a lot more than the cropped Define though.

  2. I broke my ban for a Down For It All Jacket in blazer blue tone on eBay! Holding strong otherwise though.

    1. Hi Mockginger! That's not bad at all! Only four days to go. I can't believe March is around the corner.

  3. Size 4 looks so much shorter than size 6 in the front! Size 4 is definitely cuter on you but like you said I would love it to be a tad longer. Can’t imagine how short size 2 would look on me! :D

    1. Hi Andrea! I know, a size 2 would be very short. I might have considered keeping the size 4 if they just made it a tad longer.

  4. I love the fit of the size 4 on you! I feel like it's not worth the price for how cropped and not versatile it is but it's SO cute? I don't know if I'd reach for this piece much if I had it. Thanks for your review. I am going to pass on it.

    1. Hi Janessa! I pretty much feel the same way, super cute but I don't think I'd wear it.

  5. Thanks for the review! We got some in store, and I’m definitely passing. I’ve decided I really don’t like hoods. They are bulky and tend to pull down backwards on me. If it was funnel neck…maybe? I’m surprised so many people sized way, way up. TTS 4 looks good on you.

    1. Hi LZ! I don't mind hoods, yeah I don't know why some sized way up, because then wouldn't it just be similar to the Oversized Scubas? The size 4 was perfect fit, just wish it was longer. I liked that the sleeves weren't super tight either.

  6. Great post as always! I love how both hoodies look on you. I was wondering if you were going to do a fit review on the new lululemon throwback flashback pullover or if you have a previous review on the older release? I want to buy it but I’m not sure if it runs small, big, or true to size. Thanks! Have a great weekend.

    1. Hi there! I was actually looking at the Throwback Flashback pullover hoodie. You just pushed me to get it. I'll have a fit review coming up for you. =)

    2. Thanks I really appreciate it! What color and size did you get? I’m deciding on a 6 or an 8 but not sure if it’s oversized or true to size.

    3. I'm going to go with my usual size 4 since the description says it's supposed to be a relaxed fit. I'll probably try White Opal and Black. My only concern is these tops usually look better on someone with a longer torso because of the fitted hem at the bottom, so while the White Opal will photograph better for the review, the Black will be more forgiving.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
