Fit Review! Vuori Cozy Sherpa Jacket vs Lululemon Cinchable Fleece Zip-Up

Happy hump day! This is a middle of the week fit review since I'm expecting another drop on Christmas Eve. I'll be around to cover it. Will we finally get some sparkly, special edition, holiday items? One can only hope.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and size XS in Vuori.

This jacket did pique my interest when it was first released. It wasn't until Andrea suggested I give it a try that made me take the plunge. After reading some reviews I decided to go with my regular size 4. However, once I tried it on, I think this was one of those instances where I should have sized down. The arms are a little too baggy and the fleece makes it look extra voluminous. It looks just too wide and boxy on my petite frame.

The fleece itself is plush and thick, but I wish it was softer. I went with White Opal since I'm very much into winter whites this year. The sleeves are long and I think sizing down would have been more flattering. The length of the jacket hits at the hip which I like.

The hem has a drawcord to customize the fit and look. It'll also help with keeping the wind out if it's cinched in. The back of the jacket looks flattering with a soft drape. Overall I did like the jacket, but I didn't like it enough to re-order since the fleece wasn't as soft as I had hoped. Although, if it winds up on mark down, I may give it another go in size 2. 😅

I finally got around to ordering Cozy Sherpa Jacket in Umber. I debated between Dusty Pine and Umber for the longest time. I ended up going with pink because this is the shade of pink I love, but I'm still wondering if I should have went with Dusty Pine since it is rare that I find a shade of green that I like enough to wear.

I'm wearing size XS, which is my normal Vuori size. The sherpa is super soft. I really love the way it feels. The sleeves are actually a nice length, which I was very surprised about. The zipper is made of plastic and it does feel a little cheap compared to Lululemon's zipper.

The length of the jacket hits at high hip. It's slightly shorter than Lululemon's Cinchable Fleece Zip-Up. There is a stretchy band at the hem. There's also a snap placket and zippered pockets. The fit is relaxed and I think it just looks super cute. It does not overwhelm my petite frame.

The price is $168 for both jackets. I was a little surprised Vuori did not line the sherpa jacket. Since it is unlined, I found it to shed a little as well. The jacket is on the thin side and definitely light-weight sherpa. I would say it's fine for mild winters like Atlanta, but much too thin for the northeast. Lululemon's fleece jacket is lined with jersey and it's very warm. Both jackets has its pros and cons. I was able to get the Vuori jacket on sale with a 20% off code, but Lululemon's jacket was full priced.

In the end, I decided to keep the Vuori jacket. I'm really excited to wear it. I'm just waiting for Atlanta to warm up a little, it's currently freezing here! I've been wearing my down coats a lot. It's definitely going to be a cold winter. Christmas Day is looking to be a chilly 9 degrees. 😱 I'm going to be staying indoors with my husband and hopefully my four cats will keep me warm.

Which jacket would you choose? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Both jackets looks really cute on you, Leslie! I love my LLL Cinchable Fleece Zip-up but to be honest I would definitely make more use out of the Vuori one. The LLL one is too heavy and bulky, yet it's not warm enough as a winter jacket. The Vuori Cozy Sherpa Jacket looks more versatile to me and the color is pretty. I think you made a right decision keeping the Vuori one.

    1. Thanks Andrea! That was my thinking too. I would reach for the Vuori one more. It's better suited for Atlanta climate. I was on my way to the office and I saw a girl wearing the same Vuori jacket but in charcoal. It looked black from a distance and she looked cute with a beanie on and joggers.

  2. andreajchang: Lighter color and fabric looks way better and more lush than Vuori. Vuori already looks like an cat bed! Sorry!

I come Vuori details with LuLu (?) fabric?

    1. Hi Andrea Chang, agree that Lulu does look more lush, but the fleece just felt too stiff for me. If it were soft like Vuori's sherpa I probably would have kept it!

  3. I think LLL's looks nicer bc it's more structured but if it's stiff I wouldn't want to wear it either! All I wear are my scuba's and aritzia hoodies lately and don't like anything structured. I tried on some Aritzia coats and they were cute but don't suit my lifestyle

    1. Still haven't taken the plunge with Aritzia this year. I ordered a couple of hoodies but they're too cropped. I need to try the longer style ones.

  4. The Vuori jacket is super cute. Beautiful color and it looks great on you. Seems soft and cozy. Good choice!

  5. They are both really cute and look super cozy! I've seen the Cinchable Fleece in-store a lot, but it's just too bulky for me. I love my Wunder Puff, but it's a soft poof that allows me to still move around easily.

I randomly ordered the Ruched Yoga Bodysuit today. I've been tempted by the Align Bodysuit but don't like Align Tanks. The top on this one is supposedly less squeezy and has mesh on the back. Hopefully it works out!

My fingers are crossed for the cropped OG Scuba to drop this week. It will be an instant buy for me.

    1. Hi LZ- I love the Wunder Puff too, and I keep trying it every year, but I still think it's a little too poofy on my frame. Sigh. But agreed it is light enough that you can move around.

Let me know how you like the bodysuit. Ohhh will have to keep an eye out for the cropped OG Scuba, I saw some photos and it looks a little tight in the torso. Might size up on it.

  6. I really liked the cinchable fleece in pink peony on the model! Or maybe cos her pink hair goes so well with the jacket lol. I haven't try on either jackets but I think I'd go for lulu's despite the stiffness. I can't stand fleece jackets that she'd 😅

I bought the scuba crop in my nulu define sz - sz 4 - and it fits great! Not too loose or tight. Sz 2 also fits but a bit tighter and shorter.

    1. Ohhhh I hope it comes out soon! Dying to try it. What color did you get?

  7. Both look great on you! I think the LLL size 4 didn't look too big, thought it looked just right like if you wanted to wear something underneath, it wouldn't be "bulky" or bulging out. From your review, it'd be cool if both jackets merged both pros into a new jacket, haha. Jk, sorta. Hope you have a great holiday season.

    1. Hi Jean L! I totally agree, I kinda wish the Vuori jacket had a lining. Really surprised they didn't do that. This is my first Vuori jacket though, so it'l be interesting to see how it holds up. Happy holidays to you and your family.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
