Review! Everywhere Belt Bag Extended Strap VS Everywhere Belt Bag Original

Happy May! Can't believe summer is right around the corner. I'm looking forward to visiting my family later this month. It's been nearly a year since I've been back to NYC. I'm already thinking about all the dim sum I'm going to cram in the 10 days I'm there! 😆

Today I have a review of the new Everywhere Belt Bag Extended Strap compared to the original Everywhere Belt Bag that is slowly being phased out. 😢

**** Update - The original Everywhere Belt Bag has been phased out completely. The website has removed the Extended Strap from the name. The updated version is now called the Everywhere Belt Bag!****

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Typically wear a size 4 in Lululemon tops.

I have both belt bags at the longest setting. The extended strap version is a couple inches longer in length. This may be beneficial if I'm wearing a thick winter coat. Since I'm just wearing a tank, the longest length is a little bit too droopy. Of course you can always shorten the length to suit your needs. I'm honestly surprised it's not much longer than the original.

I plan on slowly introducing more short video content when it seems appropriate. Below is a quick video comparison of the previous version of the Everywhere Belt Bag vs. the latest release.

Let's look closer at some of the differences between the two versions. The new version only has one plastic buckle. The second buckle is now replaced by two pieces of fabric to keep the extra length in place. The new version is no longer a continuous loop, as the strap does come apart and held in place by the two belt loops. I would be curious to know if the two pieces of fabric keeps the strap in place.

New Lululemon tab added on the side of the bag. I am not a fan. I prefer my bags with the least amount of branding/logo as possible.

The new zipper pull is thinner. It also spells out Lululemon on both sides. I prefer the original pull tab which is a little wider and just has the logo on one side.

The back pocket pull tab is a little more substantial. I would say this is an upgrade. It has small grippy texture that's easier to use. No logo on it at all, whereas the original does have a tiny Lululemon logo on it that is barely noticeable.

The main zipper is now plastic instead of metal. I was interested to see if this was across the board and it is. All of the new extended strap versions have plastic zippers. That to me is a major downgrade. The storage space inside is still the same. Same side pockets as well.

The biggest shocker of all is the inside metal Lululemon plate has been replaced with what looks like an iron-on decal. I gasped when I saw this, I was so surprised! I would expect something like this from a knock off to be honest! 😱 I mean, if they're going cut costs, just don't bother with a logo at all. I don't need to see Lululemon placed all over the bag. I guess the verdict is pretty obvious. I ended up returning Lavender Fog as pretty as the color is. I would suggest to get your hands on the original version before they're gone forever. Right now, Love Red and Black are both in stock.

Let me know what you think of the new version in the comments! Hope you all have a great start to the new month!

  1. Hi this is Andrea. Don’t know why but I still can’t comment using my Google account even though I’ve the most updated version of Chrome. :(

Anyway, thank you for the detailed review and I absolutely love the video! So glad I finally pulled the trigger and got hold of my first Everywhere Belt Bag in Seal Grey (original version). I just checked the LLL website and a few previously sold out colours are now available so I got another EBB in Graphite Grey. I guess this completes my EBB collection. :)

The original version is definitely nicer than the new one. For me, both the plastic zipper and the decal label of the new version are deal breakers.

    1. Hi Andrea! Sorry Chrome isn't working for you, I am not sure what it can be. Have you tried rebooting your machine? Otherwise I am afraid it might be a blogger issue. =(

Oh good! Yeah I am holding on to the 4 EBBs I have and that's going to be it for me. I totally agree with you on the plastic zipper and decal. Those are my deal breakers too.

    2. BTW so glad you're enjoying the videos!! I am hoping to make more of them. I'm still exploring video- which is completely new to me. It's scary! But I am hoping I get better at it.

    3. This is Andrea. Just got an email from LLL saying that my order on original EBB in Graphite Grey is cancelled. It’s okay and I’m happy with just the Seal Grey one.

    4. Oh NO! But at least you have one!

  2. Great review - and love the video! The EBB is too small for me, so I don't currently own any. I agree with you and prefer the old version, though. LLL is definitely trying to cut costs and sacrificing quality and special details in the process. Speaking of which...I am not loving their USPS shipping now. Occasionally I still get FedEx, but usually it's USPS, and returns are always USPS for me. (Maybe everyone else, too?)

    1. Hi LZ! Glad you are enjoying the video review too. I am going to work on them and hopefully get better at it. =)

So far I've only gotten one package sent by USPS. Most of the time it's still FedEx for now. Returns have always been USPS for me too. Lately I've been trying to return at the store because of the long wait times in the mail. It used to be pretty quick, within a week or two at longest, but the last few times I tried returning by mail it was maybe closer to a month. I am hoping it's better now, but not sure if I want to take the chance!

  3. That fabric is THE WORST! I had it in Ancient Copper despite people's warnings on Reddit... and the fabric seam snagged so much from the zipper that the insides frayed and had to be cut and then brought into hemming to restitch and reinforce.... Sad about these upgrades. My first EBB has lasted me til now and I got it since the beginning. I don't see it breaking down any time soon so I don't need a back up. The hardware has chipped and discoloured but it functions perfectly.

    1. Hi Janessa! I haven't had an issue with the fabric snagging. Is this with the smooth or crinkled fabric? Sounds like a nightmare.

Guess I'm holding on to my original 4 forever!

    2. The bag I have is the original AC release two(?) years ago with the crinkled fabric. Mine didn't catch at first either but over time it did and it would catch only once in a while and as it frayed it caught every time. Just avoid crinkly fabrics for EBB! The smooth ones (and my camo jacquard) are fine.

    3. Good to know I actually do not own any crinkle EBBs, Lavender Fog was the first one I ever ordered in that fabric but ended up returning. I guess that's a good thing!

    4. Hi Leslie. It seems the original EBB hasn't been phased out . They restocked with a bunch of colors. I noticed that the inside plate is iron on just like the extended strap one. i would imagine that the zipper is plastic too. I'm trying to get my hands on the old version through FB marketplace or Ebay. I'm kicking myself for not getting the EBB fleece in ivory when I had the chance.

    5. Hi there! It has been phased out unfortunately. Lululemon renamed the Extended Strap to just Everywhere Belt Bag. They're trying to confuse us. If you look at the photos, they are all the updated version including the little rubber Lululemon tag on the left side. I'll need to update this post. Thanks!

  4. Hi! I love your blog! I still have an original belt bag in the color red merlot, it still has the original tags that come when it’s purchased. I thought I was going to use it however I never did, so know I am looking to sell it. What is the best place I should sell it? And how much do you think I should price this rare original at with the tags in perfect condition?

    1. Hi there, I usually list on Poshmark or Ebay. Take really good photos of it and you can ask for whatever you want and allow for offers. You'll probably get a bunch of low ball offers, but when the right buyer comes around you'll get a serious one. Good luck!!

    2. Thanks for the advice! You are amazing! Have a beautiful rest of your day!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
