Fit Review Friday! Hotty Hot HR Short 2.5" Diamond Dye, Swiftly Racerback Race Length, Ebb To Street Cropped Tank, Softstreme Dropped Sleeve Wrap
Happy Friday! I can't believe it's the end of May. Memorial Day weekend is here which also marks the start of summer for most of us. This is the weekend the beaches are open (not that I'm close to any beach since moving to Atlanta. 😩). The summer temperatures have arrived though. I'm already wearing my shorts and flip flops. Does anyone have any fun plans this long weekend? I'm going to get my mani pedi on Saturday and then just relax the rest of the weekend. Before we get to the review, what do you guys think of the Throwback Astro Pant? It's available on the app only for now. Personally, I'm not a fan of the super high waist and the length is just way too long at 32.5 inches. I'm curious to know if anyone here bought a pair to try!
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
I'm not going to get into too much detail with these shorts since this is my 7th pair. I will say the waistband is slight smaller than my other Hotty Hots. I'm wearing my usual size 4 and it still fits fine, but it is about half an inch smaller in the waist. I would say it's still true to size. These are the Diamond Dye Silver Blue that cost $88. 😱😫 I love Diamond Dye and I had a gift card, so I decided to get them. Honestly, if it wasn't for the gift card, I wouldn't have bought them. They are way too expensive for what it is. That said, I really hope I get my hands on a pair of these in Electric Turquoise! I'm slowly phasing out my Speed Ups and have two left. I've been slowly selling them on my Poshmark account. This weekend I plan on listing a few more items.
I normally wear size 4 in Swiftly tops, but decided to size up to a 6 in the race length to see if I liked the looser fit.

I do like the slightly longer length the size 6 offers but the neckline is lower which reveals my bra underneath. I'm not sure how I feel about it? Does that bother you when your bra straps show? I think since it's a sports bra, it's probably not a big deal, but I don't think I would like to wear it out casually. I do have photos of a size 4 in another review, but I am wearing a different bra.
Now this Ebb To Street Cropped Tank in Marble Dye Charged Indigo is so pretty! I am a bit biased because I love purple and was super happy when this one arrived. I saw some of these tanks looked more of a solid purple with only very slight variations in the dye. I definitely lucked out.

I normally wear a size 6 in Ebb To Street tanks and this is true to size. This one also costs more than the regular solid colors. It's not a huge difference though, $68 versus $72. The recent price hikes definitely make me pause these days. I did pay full price for this one but no regrets!
Last but not least we have the Softstreme Dropped Sleeve Wrap in Silver Blue. Now that I am back at the office three days a week, I realized my summer work wardrobe needed a refresh. My typical office outfit is a crewneck tee with a pair of On The Fly Pant or Brooklyn Ankle Pant. I top it off with a cardigan or wrap. When this wrap popped up in Silver Blue I decided to give it a try.

I'm wearing my usual size 4 and was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it! I was actually expecting to return this after I took the photos, but the outfit I put together sealed the deal. Plus, Silver Blue is turning out to be one of my favorite Lululemon colors. The Softstreme fabric is comfortable and feels cool to the touch which is perfect for summer. It's super soft and drapes nicely. I do think this runs true to size with a little room to spare.
This does have batwing sleeves which I'm not 100% crazy about to be honest, but I don't think I'll be flapping my wings while I'm at the office so it shouldn't be an issue. 😅 Here are some photos of what it looks like when I lift my arms out. The sleeves are slightly long and loose, but still works well on my petite frame. The length covers the bum.
There are no pockets though! The price is steep at $148, especially without any pockets. Since this fills a void in my closet, I decided to keep it. If this hits WMTM, I would purchase in White Opal, but looks like my size is already sold out- which means people are willing to pay full price. What do you think of this wrap?

I bought the modal silk yoga top last week in store for 49. Thought I scored a great deal (was regular price last week), then today it's 39. Double boo.
On the bright side, I found a pack of 3 of invisiwear boyshorts for 24 at an outlet - very lucky!
The batwing - yeah not a big fan of that either. Hence I walked away from the ready to rulu pullover at the outlet - otherwise, another great find!

I've been trying their underwear and do like a few, I think I prefer the bikini the best so far.

I also love how the Ebb To Street Cropped Tank in Marble Dye Charged Indigo looks on you. The marble print, the color and the fit are all perfect. Again I wish it was cheaper! :(. I can’t justify spending so much on a tank or short, and don’t mind paying more for a nice jacket or wrap.
The Softstreme Dropped Sleeve Wrap in Silver Blue is surprisingly petite friendly! Too bad I’m not a huge fan of batwing sleeves and it’s a deal breaker to me.
The two Athleta Retro Plush Hoodies I ordered arrived and I LOVE them! They are insanely soft and thanks for the great advice (a fit review you did before) to size up! I wish both the sleeve and body lengths were a tad longer though. Other than that they are perfect, especially at 50% off! I’ve been spending more money on Athleta than LLL lately. I love that they let you return sale products as well which makes a huge difference to me.
I’m hoping for another Athleta sale soon but I doubt if the Memorial Day discount will be available in Canada. Have a wonderful long weekend, Leslie and everybody living in the States!

DeleteSame here, I have been purchasing more Athleta lately. They're definitely giving Lululemon a decent amount of competition especially since Lulu raised their prices. I keep checking to see if Athleta has any new wraps and so far, nope. =(

I wish they had more colors available in the HN Swiftly Race Tank. It's a more flattering cut for me. The 2.0 version is wider cut in the front than the OG and makes me look too wide and flat.
I'm not interested in the Throwback Astro Pant. Maybe if they did black with a pink band or something...but still probably not. The pair in the promo photo looks black. Where are the black ones? Anyway, they're too long, and I can't be bothered with getting them hemmed. I am, however, interested in the mesh-y jackets and pullovers in the promo photos.
What other throwback items do you think they might release?

Hmmm I was wondering where the black ones were myself for the Astro Pant. I wonder if they're really just the graphite gray with photoshop changing it to look like black. Or maybe they are releasing the black later, holding off to make people buy more than one pair.
I'm not sure what else they might release, but I am hoping for some older wrap styles! Or jackets. It will be interesting to see what they will come out with.
You look great in Hotty hot shorts. Your sure they are 2.5" inseam not 4"? Looks longer on you.

Try shorter fitting since your on petite size Shinbene shorts that are lot like align linked above 4" but look shorter. Might fit perfect for you.
Great colors to choose from much like new Lululemon but labeled different . Brown, gray sage, vintage plum. caramel red my favourites in leggings i own.

Vintage Plum swiftly nice color in the summer. Own the cool racerback in similiar color polar pink no need to purchase another.

Hi Mack! Those are definitely 2.5", my legs are really short. I can't really do anything longer than 3" for shorts. Otherwise they hit my mid thigh.
DeleteI have tried the 4" length in the Align Shorts but they tend to ride up when I'm working out and I pull them down. The 6" while they look a bit too long, they're more comfortable. Ideally I would love 5" in that style which Aritzia has. So I've been looking at those a little more, but they seem to fly off the shelves too.
I need to look into the nippy. Those look pretty cool actually, since I really hate wearing bras in the summer! Might give those a try. Thanks for the link!

Deletehi Leslie, I love both the Hotty Hot Shorts and ETS Cropped tank on you! Charged Indigo is such a beautiful cool-toned purple and I love the Marble Dye. After seeing your pics, I caved and ordered the ETS tank. $72 is too much, but at least I'll be able to return it if the dye placement doesn't look good. The Softstreme Dropped Sleeve Wrap looks very comfortable. I wouldn't pay $148 for a wrap because I don't wear wraps often, but if you'll reach for it often then the cost can be justified. I hope you'll have a relaxing long weekend!
