Happy Friday! Now that I have had the BlissFeel Running Shoe for a few weeks, it's time I gave a more in depth review. In case you missed my first impressions of the running shoe, you can check it out here. I'll also link it down below.
For those of you who have been around here for a bit, my favorite all around shoe for the last couple of years has been the Allbirds Tree Dashers. I was very curious to see how Lululemon's BlissFeel Running Shoe stacked up against my favorite shoe. 😬
Before I get into the review, my new office has a gym! It's a tenant perk and because of this, I decided to sign up for the Peloton app that costs $12.99 a month. This way, it forces me to get out of the office for a bit and I get my workout done earlier in the day. This was a great way for me to try out the BlissFeel Running Shoe and explore the Peloton app. Win-win.
A little background- I'm not really a runner. I did train for a 10K but this was years ago. When the pandemic hit, I focused on strength training workouts from Alexia Clark and my sister gifted me an Meta Quest VR headset. All my cardio exercising came from the amazing Supernatural Fitness program. I honestly think if it wasn't for Supernatural, I wouldn't have been able to have jump back into running as easily as I did.
To start off, I tested the BlissFeel Running Shoes and Tree Dashers for 20 minute runs on the treadmill. I noticed that my feet definitely felt hot in the BlissFeels. There's a lot of padding around the ankles and it's not very breathable. Because of this, the shoes also felt heavy to me during my run. They also do come up just a little too far on my ankle bone. Comparatively, I did not experience any kind of overheating with the Tree Dashers and the 20 minute runs felt rather easy!
I do think the BlissFeels are best for casual walking or long walks but since my feet ran hot (literally), I wouldn't want to run for a long period of time in these. I also noticed that the shoe did not absorb the impact of the heel striking the treadmill while running. It didn't make me sore afterwards, but I did notice that it was a bit uncomfortable.
Since I decided not to keep these shoes, initially I was going to return them to Lululemon, but my husband asked, "Do you know what Lulu is going to do with the shoes after you return them? Is there a chance they might end up in the landfill?" I didn't know the answer to his questions so I decided to sell them on my Poshmark account. I had only worn them for very short runs and mostly walked in these for no more than 12 hours. I felt like I could at least let someone else try them out for less!
Just out of curiosity I wanted to see how much these shoes weighed. I used my nifty little postage scale.
BlissFeel Running Shoe Size 5.5 - Weighing in at 8.1 oz.
Allbirds Tree Dasher Size 5.5 - Weighing in at 8.4 oz.
Who else is shocked to see BlissFeels weigh less than Tree Dashers?! ✋I swear when I was running, it felt like the Tree Dashers were much lighter. And just for kicks and giggles I have two other running shoes I'm currently testing out. Here's a sneak peek!
APL Cherry Blossom Size 5.5 - Weighing in at 7.4 oz.
Adizero X Allbirds Size 5 - Weighing in at 4.6 oz!!! 😱
Of course my boys are curious kitties and have to see what I'm doing. So in conclusion, Tree Dashers are still my favorite pair of shoes ( so far). I'm very curious about the APLs and Adizero (Adidas X Allbirds collaboration). At the very least I'm getting a lot of use out of the Peloton app! If anyone wants to give me a follow and I'll follow back, feel free to look me up!
That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. 😊

Thanks for your honest review of the shoes, Leslie! I think I read somewhere else that the breathability is an issue with the blissful. Did u pick up anything from the WMTM today?
ReplyDeleteHi Blueberries - nothing from WMTM this week for myself. But I am looking for summer wraps or cardigans that I can wear to the office. So far I am not finding anything from Lulu or Athleta. May have to check other sites like J.Crew or BR...
Deletehi Leslie, Thanks for the in-depth review of the running shoes! I hope Lululemon will send returned shoes that are in good condition to Like New rather than landfill! Overall, I prefer the simple design of the tree dashers and breathability is important, especially in the summer. The Adizero X Allbirds shoes are so light! How do you like them for everyday wear and for running? The APL shoes are very pretty!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Hi Karen! I hope they would do that too. I just saw Lululemon launched the like new program to everyone! Will definitely have a look and see if there's anything I really want.
DeleteI do have an Adizero review coming up. As of right now, I can tell you that they run BIG. I usually get a size 5.5 in Allbirds and for these I got a size 5 and there's still a little bit of room in the front but with some thick socks, it still works.
Hi Leslie,
DeleteIt's Cindy. Thanks for the detailed review. I personally don't like the aesthetics of those LLL shoes. I think the higher tops will make my legs look even shorter. I looked up the APLs and they are so pricey! Any chance you could do a review on the APL youth slip on ones? I think you'll fit the 4!
Hi Cindy! I actually did order APL youth size 4 to compare to women's size 5 and 5.5. Size 5 was too small for me. The size 4 and 5.5 were definitely similar in length, but the youth version was a little too wide on my foot. I ended up keeping size 5.5, it also looks a little sleeker than the youth version. Hope that helps!!
DeleteOh wow. I was thinking of ordering the youth in size. 3. I was wondering if the adult version was more sleeker too. Thanks for answering that question. It's hard to tell in the photos when they are showing a very small youth size. Kids shoes tend to look wide. Just like the rothy's. Also there is more detail in the adult version. I may have to bite the bullet and just get the adult size 5. I love the racing stripe ones in almond. I think they look even more sleek with that stripe down the middle. They are just so pricey but maybe I'll take advantage of their healthcare workers discount. Any chance you will post a review? Unless you didn't take any photos.
DeleteI agree that the allbirds adizeros run big! I ordered my usual size and they are easily a half size too big, possibly a full size too big. I wish they were still in stock, so I could order a half size down! I can manage with the size I got, but I do have some concerns that my big toe may eventually create a hole in the top. The material is so thin. I really like them though!!
DeleteCindy - I would order both size 3 Youth and adult size 5 and see which one you prefer. You may not mind the youth version, especially for the price if it fits. But it does fit a little wider when I tried it. I did end up returning the youth size 4 and didn't take photos. But I do have photos of the adult TechLoom Bliss in the Rose Dust color coming up!
DeleteStacy- What's crazy is I ordered my usual size 5.5 in the Adizeros, but was sent size 5! it's like they knew it would be too big and was trying to prevent as many returns as possible. Maybe they did not have the half size down when you ordered? I did hear a few others received different sizes from what they ordered. So bizarre! I did hear that they are unisex? So your feet fall into the men's sizing you could give that a try. My feet are super small so I don't have that option at all.
DeleteOr your other option is buying straight from adidas website.

Cindy- they really do look like the photos on Nordstrom.

Hope that link works. =T
Great review on the shoes! It's a shame they didn't work out. I'm not a runner, so I'm not very particular about my all-purpose gym shoes. I'm just not a fan of the way they look, and since I can wear kids' sizing in Adidas, I plan to stick with my Ultraboosts.
ReplyDeleteI recently discovered the Like a Cloud Bra and have been purging my FTB Serene collection and replacing with them. I picked up a couple more on WMTM last week.
Hi LZ! Jealous the Like A Cloud Bra works for you! I tried them and had a gaping problem whenever I bent over. =T But they are really comfortable.
DeleteSorta disappointing they're not breathable but also only ok cute at that price. Thanks for your review
