Fit Review Friday Blissfeel Running Shoe and Allbirds Promo Code for this Weekend Only!

Happy Friday!! First, I want to thank everyone for their patience. My contact over at Allbirds has gotten back to me and Allbirds is offering 10% off any purchase of $50 or more, with no item restrictions using the code petiteimpact10OFF. The original sale that I was asked to advertise was for 15 to 25% off, but only on select items. This 10% is applicable to your whole cart and is available from 12am PST March 31st to April 3rd at 11:59pm EST.

Someone please let me know if this works in Canada? I've been trying to get Allbirds to expand to international countries. Thank you!

Yes, that is Flash pawing at the Mink Berry/Pink. He's decided that's his favorite of the two. 😹

This is my first unboxing video! The video is not too long, it's under two minutes and it's my first impression of the shoes right out of the box. I will post a more in depth review of the shoes after I test them out on the treadmill and compare them to my Allbirds Tree Dashers.

For reference I purchased size 5.5 in the Blissfeel Running Shoe and I also wear a size 5.5 in the Allbirds Tree Dashers.

The Mink Berry/Pink is very pretty in person. I think the color really pops in the video. The quality and construction seems to be on par with Nikes.

You all know I love my Allbirds Tree Dashers, they are my absolute favorite shoe for the last couple of years. In the side by side photo, you can see the laces are thinner than Allbirds laces. They're slightly flat and not round. The heel comes up very high (almost too high on my ankle bone) and they also fit very snug around the ankle as well. I have a feeling this might irritate me when I run, but I hope not. One of the reasons the Tree Dashers are so comfortable is the wide footbed. I'm happy to say the Blissfeel shoes have a comparable footbed. However, they do not feel as cushiony as the Tree Dashers.

The bottom of the sole looks to be very grippy and I really kind of like the unique placement of the logo. I also found more logos hidden on the inside of the tongue.

Because of the high backing of the heel, I find that it makes my ankles look thick. 😂 There's also a ton of padding around the ankle. It kind of makes me a little worried about the breathability of these running shoes. The front and sides have a decent amount of mesh for ventilation, but there isn't any around the ankles.

As for fit, I am normally size 5.5 in sneakers and these fit true to size. Pricing is $148 which seems a little expensive compared to Allbirds Tree Dashers. There's a $13 difference, more if you use the promo code that's currently available for 10% off.

I found the tongue to be on the short side. I was surprised at that.

A lot of people say the logo is very big on the back of the shoe. I have to agree. The Nike logo is also pretty big, but maybe we're just used to it? Nike seems to incorporate their logo as part of the shoe design with more thought, rather than just slapping the logo onto the shoe somewhere.

Flash really loves boxes!

I forgot to mention in the video that I really like how there's zero plastic in the packaging. And doesn't the box look a lot like a Crate & Barrel box? 😂 That's it for me! Let me know what you think of the video and the shoes! If you bought a pair of the shoes, let me know what you think of them. Hope you all have a blissed out weekend!

WMTM Update!

(If you're in the market for a rain jacket, I really like this one!)

  1. Thanks for the shoe review! I was tempted but I don't love the design enough to justify the price point. Doesn't help that I don't run lol. For WMTM, I picked up the pink blossom love tank (now I have pb love tank, Swiftly, and CRB lol), and two pair of invisiwear boyshorts, which was 9 dollars each - very happy about that!

    1. I kind of have to agree with you the price is high. Luckily Lulu is letting us try it out for 30 days. Pink Blossom is a great pink! It is very tempting.

      Good deal on the boyshorts!

  2. hi Leslie! Thanks for the fit review! Flash is so cute! I love the pictures! Mink berry is a very pretty colour, a clear winner between the two colours!

It's too bad that the All Birds promo code doesn't work in Canada. I was tempted to give the Tree Dashers 2 a try. It's ok. I'm happy with my Wool Runner Mizzles and don't really need another pair of shoes.

    Have a happy Friday!

    1. Hi Karen! Flash has the biggest personality of all my cats. He's gotta know what everyone is doing. He cracks me up.

Ah- thanks for letting me know about the promo code. I do have something else in the works coming soon!! I am pretty excited about it. The Wool Runner Mizzles are very awesome though.

  3. Hi! Loved the shoes in Flare which is what I bought. Until I ran in them. I'm training for a marathon so I'm not opposed to paying $$ for good shoes and $198 Cdn is up there with the best of them. Sadly there is no cushioning (especially in the forefoot) or stability and I had to cut a speed run short because I started getting knee pain. I know some people like a minimal shoe with lots of "road feel" but I'm just not one of those people. Love that they have the 30 day trial period because I was able to return and not stuck with a $200 casual sneaker.

As an FYI the educator at the store told me they are coming out with more of a cushioned running shoe this summer. I was surprised because these are described as cushioned and it looked to me like what was coming out in the summer was their gym trainer. Will definitely be keeping an eye out.

    1. Hi Trilikemary- That is a bummer about the shoes. I'd be curious to see what you think about Allbirds Tree Dashers. They are also free returns for 30 days if you haven't tried them yet. They're very cushiony IMO.

But that is good to know! I will keep an eye out for the summer release. Sounds like that's more my speed along with the gym trainer. Thanks for the info!

  4. Thanks for the unboxing video and your initial thoughts about the runner. I'm with you about all the padding around the ankle collar. That paired with the raised bit on the back would be all kinds of painful for me. The Mink Berry is pretty though! For the price, they'd better be perfect, however!

Too bad about the Allbirds code not working in Canada, but I'm waiting for some more new releases anyway. I'm hoping they release a Tree Runner or Tree Dasher in Hazy Mauve. It's such a nice color!

    1. Hi Lola- Agreed, if I don't find them as comfy as Allbirds, it's going to be a return for me.

I love the Hazy Mauve color! I have the Tree Breezers in my cart in Hazy Mauve... I wear these at the office and they're really comfortable. Wouldn't mind getting it in another color. But if they do release it in the Tree Dasher, it's mine! I do have something in the works coming up that will include Canada!

  5. Too bad the Allbirds discount code doesn’t work for the Canadian site. Yes I would really love a pair of Wool Runners Mizzles in Hazy Mauve!

Thanks for the Lulu shoe review and I love the unboxing video. You’ve got a lovely voice, Leslie! :). I have to say the shoes are not flattering on you and they do make your ankles look thick! Mink Berry is pretty but the overall design of the shoes is not appealing to me. I would be interested to know if they are that comfy for running.

    Have a nice weekend everyone!

    1. Hi Andrea! I have something in the works coming up that includes my Canadian friends. Cuz I do feel bad that the sales aren't open to everyone.

Hah thanks!! I'm still a bit shy doing things on video. Something I need to work on for sure.

Yes I do agree, Allbirds are more flattering. I just did a short 20 minute run, it's my first run in forever (3 years?) I will have to do another run in Allbirds to compare.

  6. Not a huge fan of the shoe. It's cute but not that price cute. I would like it more if the logo is discreet. Still a pretty shoe in the pink color. I got the POC in smokey red and it's so pretty!

    1. Hi Janessa! I still think Allbirds are going to be hard to beat. I'm still testing the Blissfeel shoes out and so far, they're okay but I'm not overly impressed.

Ohhhh I do love the smokey red color. It's such a nice shade.

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
