My Birthday Weekend Celebration & Present to Myself - Mulberry Amberley Bag

It's my birthday! Celebrated with yummy food all weekend long. But before we get to that, I'd like to introduce to you all my new Mulberry bag. Mulberry is considered a premier designer but without the price tag sticker shock. Nowadays, most bags at this level will run you $2000 and up. Mulberry kind of  bridges the pricing between Coach and other premier designers. Mulberry bags start at $650 and up.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.

also wearing Naked Cashmere Rowen Size XS
(Sheepskin is still tugging on my heart strings.)

This is the Amberley bag in size small. It's a very petite friendly size that fits all of my essentials with some room to spare. I love the minimalist design. The color is the perfect golden brown. The leather is thick and sturdy. This style comes in many different colors, leathers, and sizes. I'm pretty sure there is a perfect combination out there for everyone. I also went for the pebbled leather to minimize scratches and scuffs. This will help keep this bag looking like new.

The shoulder strap is adjustable and I have it on the second shortest length. The strap itself is thin but very sturdy. I've worn this out today and love the feel of it. The hardware is gold but works very well with the brown color. The turnmlock closure works very smoothly. I am really impressed with it.

This bag reminds me of Celine's Small Besace but without breaking your bank account. Let's take a look at some of the details of the bag.

It does have the word Mulberry printed on at the very top of the bag in small golden letters. So small, I actually don't even notice it's there. The bag does taper at the top so from the side has a triangle shape.

The craftsman ship and quality is amazing. The stitching is perfect. The pebbled leather is to die for. There is nothing about this bag that I do not like. The price tag is $795 via Nordstrom and I felt it is worth the money.

Even the edge coating is perfect!

Here are some close up photos of the turn lock closure. The metal ring acts as the 'key' and turns to keep the bag closed. When you turn you do feel a click so you know it's closed. It works so smooth it has that feel of luxury.

The inside is lined with suede. I was actually kind of surprised that this bag didn't have the new leather smell. You all know I love the leather smell. 😆 It fits everything that I need to carry on a daily basis. iPhone 12 Pro, keys, card case, small pouch and my mints.

Comes with a Mulberry dust bag. I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of this bag for many years to come! I give this bag 5/5 stars.

Here are some photos of my birthday weekend! I got to see a lion dance in-between while getting a mani/pedi and massage. I love lion dances, they are just so cute with the big eyes that bat at you. Plus the way they wiggle around, they just remind me of my cute kitties. And of course, they bring good luck and fortune.

My office sent me these cute little Bundt mini cakes. So good! My sister sent me Cronuts and my mom sent me macaroons. Seriously, after this weekend I need to go on a fast. I am on a sugar high.

Saturday night, my husband took me out to my favorite sushi restaurant, MF Sushi. We usually do omakase, but this time we just picked our favorites from the menu.

Sunday night, I went to my favorite ramen spot. Jinya has the best creamy vegan ramen but they were unfortunately out of it tonight which made me sad, but I improvised and customized my own ramen.

Chicken Rice Bowl for my husband

Tofu, Bamboo Shoots, Mushrooms, Spinach, Scallions with an Egg and thick noodles!

If I look like I put on some weight in my up coming fit reviews, you'll know why! Between Lunar New Year and my birthday, it's been a couple of weeks of heavy eating. 😂 That's it for me! Hope you all have a great start to a new week!

  1. The bag looks stunning! Sounds like you know your bags well! I don't...so I usually just stick with the big brands 😅

    1. Thanks!! Yes bags are my major weakness. To save some money I usually buy second hand but this one I caved for brand new.

Sushi is my favorite too. Although it can change depending on the mood!

    1. Thank you so much Nina!! I have to remember to go for lunch and not dinner because I was so full last night, I couldn't go to sleep until 2 am!

  4. What a lovely weekend! Looks like you had a wonderful celebration! The bag is beautiful! :)
Also since wearing and washing my Aritzia hoodies more I found they don't hold up as well as my LLL scubas so now I'm not buying any more Aritzia hoodies... They look worn after a few months of constant wear whereas LLL stays looking new for at least a year and even then the LLL fabric wears in nicely. I still love the fit of the Aritzia ones and am glad I own a few but they are not to be collected that's for sure. I just bought a Scuba Oversized Full Zip second hand... so I hope I like the fit!

    1. Hi Janessa! That's good to know about the Aritzia hoodies. I've only washed mine once so far. I guess I will stick to their jackets and outerwear. Let me know how you like the Oversized Scuba!

  6. What a lovely present you got yourself! I love bags but haven’t been using my leather ones since the pandemic. LLL bags are the ones I use all the time cos they are easy to clean. You’ve no idea how many times I’ve spilled hand sanitizer on my bags LOl.

Looks like you had an amazing birthday weekend! Spoil yourself and worry about weight gain later. :)

    1. Thanks Andrea! I started slowly using my leather bags again. But I am very careful when I use hand sanitizer around the leather. So far so good!

Hahahahha, yes I am trying to drink more water to help me trim down again! LOL. The food was worth it, 100%!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
