NashVegas & Fit Review Friday! Rain Rebel Jacket & All Yours Hoodie

Happy Friday! I decided to combine my Nashville photos with the Fit Review Friday post. I'm warning you now, this is a very image heavy post. The drive to Nashville took us about 4.5 hours going there because we hit a decent amount of traffic. Going home was great, we drove straight through with no stops and made it back in a little over 3 hours. I have to say though, the drive isn't that much fun. I liked that we saw the Great Smoky Mountains but it wasn't very enjoyable because the road was only two lanes with a lot of 18-wheelers.

The first stop was White Castle. I'll spare you all the photos but if you haven't had White Castle, it's probably a good thing but it tastes so damn good. Atlanta doesn't have a White Castle (again, probably for the best) but since we were heading to Nashville, why not? We did however have a very nice dinner at 5th and Taylor that night.

Apple pie with vanilla ice cream
(Soooooo good, possibly the best apple pie I've ever had.)

The next day we spent a lot of time walking around and exploring Nashville. The weather was mostly cloudy but it was very humid. It's even more humid in Nashville that it is in Atlanta! Temperatures were in the 70s but felt much warmer. We stopped by Printers Alley. It used to be the home of the publishing industry back in the early 20th century. Now it's a bunch of pubs and hole in the wall clubs.

Le Macaron macaroons! 😍 I had to post a photo. They look so pretty and tasted even better. That night we met up with my husband's cousin. Went bar hopping. The first stop was Rosemary & Beauty Queen. It's probably my favorite bar. It's located inside of a house that was converted into this super chic cozy lounge with a backyard decked out in gorgeous string lighting and another bar with swings for seats! I couldn't believe it. It's amazing. Super chill music and it wasn't even very crowded.

After that we had dinner at Two Ten Jack. It's a Japanese restaurant with amazing ramen.

Yellowtail

The next day we stopped by Lululemon located at Hill Center. It was fairly empty with no line to enter. The Swiftly Long Sleeve in Capri really caught my eye. If you haven't seen Capri in person yet, it is stunning!

The Rain Rebel Jacket in Capture Blue looked really cute on the mannequin so I had to try it on for a fit review.

This is a Swiftly Tank Race Length in Iron Blue, I'm not seeing the color on the website, maybe it's new?

Time for the fit review! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops.

First, let's discuss the sleeve length. It's actually not awful on the size 2. The sleeve ends just slightly above the first knuckle and if you fold the cuff once, you get the Lululemon plastered over it. I'm not 100% happy with that detail. I find it just a little bit obnoxious especially since Lululemon is in giant capital letters. A little bit more subtle would have been nice.

I sized down and there's not much room to layer. It's fitted in the shoulders so I think only a thin layer would work fine. However if I wanted to wear a thick sweater underneath I would stick to my usual size 4. I do think that the size 2 is very flattering though. A size 4 might look a little too big overall.

The hood is very generous and cinchable to customize the fit.

I love how sleek this rain jacket looks! It's actually the first rain jacket that I've ever tried on that looks very flattering. Lululemon released this jacket in Red Merlot this week and I think it might look even better than Capture Blue. A deep red burgundy for fall? Yes please! If I still lived in the northeast aka Boston or New York I would have bought this in a heartbeat. But ever since I moved to Atlanta, I have not needed to wear a raincoat. I barely need to wear jackets in general. It's a little sad, but I can't really complain.

Looks really cute unzipped as well.

The waist has a cinchable cord to adjust the fit. I love this detail. It makes all the difference. Belted jackets and coats never flatter my frame. I'm too short and they accentuates my hips.

Inside pocket.

One thing I did notice is the snap imprinted on the jacket. The jacket is on the thin side. Price is steep at $228, but worth it considering all the little details and how well it fits. This jacket is worth checking out if you are in the market for a rain coat.

I can't believe I never tried the All Yours Hoodie. I actually wish Lululemon still made the full zip version. This hoodie is super soft and cozy on the inside. It's lined with fleece and is fairly thick. It's medium to heavy weight. Definitely one of the warmer pullovers I've tried. Which makes me want the full zip version even more!

I'm wearing my usual size 4. I like how it fits throughout the body. The sleeves are a little too roomy along the upper arms which I don't love. The extra fabric is causing a bit of bunching along the sleeves. The hood is nice and roomy. The band along the hem is a little tight over my hips. There's not that much stretch to the band either and because of this I would not suggest sizing down unless you have narrow hips.

Overall, I did like this hoodie, but at $108 I didn't think it was quite worth the full price. I would consider buying if it ends up on WMTM.

I thought you guys might be interested in what I wore during my trip to Nashville. The weather forecasted rain all day, so I went with my Vuori Performance Jogger and my Aviator Nation hoodie. I'm wearing a Love Tee V-Neck and my Allbirds Mizzles. Of course I also carrying my trust Everywhere Belt Bag and Athleta Face Mask. They really are the best! Sorry Lulu.

The last day we went to a rooftop bar at Fairfield by Marriot Hotel. Then we had tacos at Tacos 1989. They were delicious. I am super happy to discover there's another Tacos 1989 about an hour away from me! It's quite a drive just for tacos, but it'll be worth it!

The last meal we ate was at Folk. The chocolate dessert was to die for!! The owner of Folk also started Rolf & Daughters which we didn't get to try, so it'll be a reason to go back.

😋 So GOOD!

On our way back home!

That's the end of our trip! Hope you enjoyed the photos and fit review. Have a fantastic weekend everybody!

  1. Looks like you’ve had a wonderful vacation, Leslie!

Thanks for the fit review. If I haven’t got the Right as Rain Jacket already, I would’ve seriously consider getting the Rain Rebel Jacket in Capture Blue cos the color is just gorgeous! One thing I don’t like though is the bold “lululemon” print shown when the cuffs are rolled up. It looks kind of cheap to me.

The All Yours Hoodie looks really comfy and makes me wanna try out the zipped version! I like my Scuba Light hoodies but some days I find them too form fitting and would go for my Roots relaxed hoodies. Maybe I should check out some of Athleta’s.

Thanks again for your fit review and I hope you’ve have a wonderful weekend back home with your kittens! :)

    1. I did have a great time Andrea! Glad to be back home with my kittens!

Athleta has some really great hoodies. I'm actually looking for a thinner hoodie to wear underneath a jacket. Not sure I'll find what I'm looking for at Lulu or Athleta. Might have to branch out!

  2. hi Leslie! Thanks for the travel blog and fit review! Your food pics look so good! I miss fine dining now!

The Swiftly in Iron Blue/True Navy is available in Canada. It was uploaded in the last week of Sep. Pics don't do this colour justice. It's beautiful in person. I got the short sleeve version in size 6 and it fits like my other Swiftly's.

The Rain Rebel jacket is a good length on you! I usually go for shorter jackets, but this one looks very nice! The All Yours Hoodie looks very flattering on you too!

Have a great weekend and Happy Thanksgiving to fellow Canadians!!

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia.   Happy May! Can't believe summer is right around the corner. I'm looking forward to visiting my family later this month. It's been nearly a year since I've been back to NYC. I'm already thinking about all the dim sum I'm going to cram in the 10 days I'm there! 😆  Today I have a review of the new  Everywhere Belt Bag Extended Strap  compared to the original  Everywhere Belt Bag  that is slowly being phased out. 😢  **** Update - The original Everywhere Belt Bag has been phased out completely.
