Fit Review! Back In Action Long Sleeve Shirt, Wunder Puff Crop Vest, Reversible Fleece Jacket

Initially I was going to post this on the next Fit Review Friday, but then I realized how quickly sometimes these fall pieces sell, so I bumped it up. I'm actually posting from Nashville! I've never been to NashVegas before and it's only four hour drive from Atlanta. My husband's cousin is here to see a concert so we decided to meet up with her. There may be a Nashville post coming. 😃

Let's get to this fit review. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops.

Let me just say Capture Blue is gorgeous. It's very saturated and is a nice pop of color for fall. The Back In Action Long Sleeve is a fit request and I chose my usual size 4 because of the fitted sleeves. They are pretty clingy along the forearms more so than the upper arms. I think I have normal sized arms and because of this, I would not suggest sizing down unless you have slim arms. Surprisingly the sleeve length is fine, I didn't find it to be too long. Otherwise the rest of this top is very loose and billowy. The back is longer than the front and does look great with a pair of leggings. The boatneck is on the smaller side and doesn't really show off any of the collarbone/clavicle area. It does come up a bit higher than I prefer.

Fabric is made of soft pima cotton. For $58, if you love this style it's pretty easy on the bank account and if you love Capture Blue, it would make a nice addition to your closet.

Some of you may remember I reviewed the Wunder Puff Jacket in the beautiful Heathered Plumful last year and painfully returned it because I thought it was too poofy on me. I was hoping Lulu would release it in the crop version, but they never did. Maybe this year they will release a color just as gorgeous as Heathered Plumful in the crop version. In the meantime Pink Lychee caught my eye in the Wunder Puff Crop Vest. I actually do not own a single vest. Please tell me if you find a vest practical to wear? I always fear my arms will freeze. Otherwise I really think this vest is super cute and petite friendly.

I took a million photos because I love this color so much. It's such a gorgeous shade of raspberry pink. It's not barbie pink, and it's also not in your face pink. It also looks amazing paired with Capture Blue. It's such a fun color combo. I chose the same size as the Wunder Puff Jacket (I sized down). I could have maybe even fit the size 0, but I want to be able to layer this with a hoodie or sweater underneath. The length hits at high hip. It does fit a bit wide and boxy, but there is a cinchable hem to adjust and customize to your liking.

The one thing I really love about the Wunder Puff line is how pillowy soft it feels. However, I also fear it can be easily snagged or damaged by one of my furbabies if I'm not careful. It's luxurious but delicate. The snaps on the vest is dissappointingly made of plastic. Granted since there is a zipper, I don't think I would use the snaps at all, but it is worth noting. The hood is also removable which is a plus, because if I decide to wear it with a hoodie, it wouldn't make sense to walk around with two hoods. How funny would that look? Price point is high at $228 but I did look around around at other options and could not find a vest that offered snaps, zipper and a detachable hood in a color and fit that I liked. So Lulu wins in this department.

Snaps are plastic.

There are zippered pockets on the inside of each side of the vest and can fit a small wallet or a small phone, I think my iPhone 12 Pro would be a tight fit. Please help me decide. I am leaning towards keeping this vest since I don't own one! What do you guys think?

White Opal is definitely a very popular color right now, especially for fleece and sherpa. It's the most natural looking and cute like a teddy bear. I also sized down in this jacket and it was the right call. I'm wearing size 2. Surprisingly the sleeves are not super long. Do you guys remember the Alo Yoga Sherpa Jacket I tried twice? This jacket reminds me of the Alo Yoga but with much better sleeve length. It doesn't give me the gorilla arm vibes. The fleece is thick and substantial. It kind of reminds me of sherpa but not as soft. I'm guessing it holds up better than sherpa in the wash though.

There are a couple of things I wasn't crazy about. The hem is pretty stretchy fabric that kind of looks a little cheap upon closer inspection. Also the fleece was stitched in sections and you can see the gapes in-between each section but that may be part of the design so I wouldn't call it a flaw, more of personal preference.

On the reverse side we have a soft polyester fabric. I definitely did not like the reverse side as much. The drawstring hangs awkwardly if you have the hood up. It's not as apparent with it down, but it would still bother me some.

The fabric bunches up and wrinkles in a weird way, especially on the sleeves and the back of the jacket. I think it looks way better on the fleece side. As for warmth I do think it is very warm if worn with the fleece on the inside. It's very cozy but overall it has a slightly bulky fit. For $168 I don't love it enough to keep.

Weird bunchy back.

That's it for me! Let me know what you think of the Wunder Puff Crop Vest. Hope you all have a fantastic Monday. I'll be back with some Nashville photos. 😍

  1. Thanks for the review! I'm with you regarding wearing vests: it's not that practical... Only for fall or late spring. Idk. I bought two vests in the past and barely wear them. I'd wait for a cropped puffer in a color I like!

I was thinking of the green cropped Wunder puff but only kept thinking about cos how others raved about the color. But green is not my personal favorite unless it's an army green.

I still prefer the sherpa Lululemon released about two years ago and the alo yoga one. I have both and love both. The past Lulu one looked great wearing either way... And the hoodie drawstrings can be looped differently depending on which side you are wearing...so no weird hanging strings from the hood!

Good point on the sizing of the Back in action LS. I was gonna size down but didn't realize the arm could be too tight. Thanks for the warning!

    1. Green isn't one of my favorite colors either. I would say stick with what you know looks great on you and you know you'll want to wear.

I will wait and see what other colors Lulu offers in the Wunder Puff Cropped Jacket.

  2. Great reviews! I have the wunder puff jacket from last year in the heathered plum and saffron orange. I just checked the snaps and they are both plastic. I think your review of the best is great because you show how you can cinch it in and take away from the boxy look. The pink is gorgeous and you are right that it looks amazing with the capture blue. I’m not one for wearing vests and any Sherpa jacket I’ve tried on makes me look 5 times bigger than I am so I’m not going to run out and purchase these items but I still really enjoyed your review and photos!

    1. Thank you! Appreciate your feedback and comments. =)

So jealous you have the heathered plum from last year! It is such a gorgeous color.

  3. The Back in Action LS looks gorgeous! Love the style and color on you. I have three and they are great for the warmer months in New England.

I have the regular Wunder Puff Jacket from last year and wore it nonstop last winter. I will buy the cropped vest if it comes out in the green color and if I lived in a milder climate. I heat up easily so I wear vests a lot when the outside temperature hits 40s and 50s. However if you are someone who gets cold easily, don't keep the vest. It does look so cute on you :).

Thank you for the reviews and have a great week, Leslie!

    1. Thanks AmherstLulu! The vest really does look super cute but the rational side says I wouldn't wear it often enough to justify the cost. =T

  4. Well thanks to this post here I go ordering the back in action one more time, when I know the previous ones I've ordered have pulled in the back and choked me, but dang it if it isn't just so pretty I have to have it all over again! *face palm*

    1. Hah you made me LOL. You'll have to let me know if you keep it or not!

  5. Thank you very much for reviewing the Back In Action Long Sleeve! Capture Blue is really pretty and the top look so comfy! I remember trying it in my regular size 2 years ago and the sleeves were pretty short above my wrists. They look perfect on you though and I’m thinking of giving it another try.

I have two puffy vests (not from Lulu) and I might wear them just once or twice every year. I just find vests not that practical at least in Toronto cos you have to find a perfect weather to wear it.

I was tempted to get the Reversible Fleece Jacket if a nice color comes out, but thanks for your review it would be a pass. The arms are too long and side for my liking. Also not a fan of the reverse side.

Hoping for some winter items to be released tomorrow!

    1. Hi Andrea! Hopefully the sleeve length will work for you this time. It is a very comfy top.

Thanks, I am starting to agree that I won't wear the vests as often as I would like or think. Guess it's going to be a return for me. Also at $228 my wallet will be relieved! =D

  6. Thank you for those excellent reviews! Both the Capture Blue and Pink Lychee look so nice on you, but I agree with the consensus here: vests aren't very practical. I think for the price it is, you might not get the use out of it to make the purchase worth it. I say hold out for something else in the Lychee instead!

The Back In Action Long Sleeve looks really great on you. I bought one last year in Rulu and HATED the fit - the tightness in the arms made it feel straight-jackety to me. Maybe the fact that Rulu is a bit of a heavier fabric had something to do with the claustrophobic feeling...

    1. Hi Lola! I do have Pink Lychee coming in the ETS Crop Tank, so hopefully that will satisfy my craving for the color.

I agree, anything too tight on the arms tends to make me feel the same way! I almost never wear long sleeve shirts, I prefer loose fitting pullovers or hoodies without the tight sleeves.

  7. I can't believe I missed this! I think capture blue is gorgeous and so is pink lychee but I'm not a hugee pink person. I like pink in accessory pieces! Like hair ties, bras, shorts! I think I prefer light pastel pinks more too. The reversible jacket is a nope! Especially that price point. I think the color is super pretty but lots of brands are doing this off white cream color so you'll definitely find something much cuter! :D

    1. Yes! Capture Blue is amazing. I do enjoy a small dose of bright pink but I think a vest is probably as far as I'd go. A jacket would be too much, I agree. I have to refrain myself!

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
