Hope everyone is enjoying the last bits of summer. I'm still waiting for a couple of items to arrive from my Lululemon order I placed last week, but just wanted to give a quick review of the newly updated Fringe Fighter Headband and give a couple of thoughts on the Dusky Lavender Everywhere Belt Bag.
If you're interested, here's my detailed review of the Everywhere Belt Bag in Camo Jaquard Black Deep Coal.
I noticed that a new Fringe Fighter Headband was released in Rulu instead of Nulu. Of course I had to see what it's all about. Fringe Fighter Headbands are my favorite. I've been using these for years. Even though my hair is really short now, I still use one because it keeps my hair from falling in my face. The first difference I noticed is it is definitely thicker and not as thin as some of my old ones. It is just as soft though, maybe even slightly softer, but that could also be because it's brand new.
The above photo shows the new version is a little wider and just a tad bit longer, but really it's not a huge difference at all. Thankfully the price remains the same at $18. There is a slight difference in the length and width of the elastic band and how the ends are reinforced. I do feel the new version is slightly more sturdy.
I never thought to wear the headband with the elastic part on top. I did try it this weekend when I did my workout, it didn't work for me but maybe it's because I have super short hair. Overall, I am happy to add another Fringe Fighter to my collection. In my opinion you can never have too many, especially when I go through one almost everyday.
When I saw the Dusky Lavender Everywhere Belt Bag pop up I bought it as soon as my shopping ban was over! However in person the color is a much darker purple than what the online photo shows.
There's also quite a few differences between the Dusky Lavender and Deco Pink EBB which I purchased last year. First off, the shape of Deco Pink is much more rectangle. The Dusky Lavender looks a bit lumpy and oddly shaped. The fabrics are also different. The Dusky Lavender uses the same fabric as my Tidewater Teal EBB.
The zipper is now made of black plastic instead of metal. I will say that the zipper runs very smoothly on the Dusky Lavender. My main gripe is the teeny tiny black zipper pull that has replaced the big metal silver pull tab. That I think was the deal breaker for me.
The back of the bag looks fine to me. However the stitching and the shape of the bag just wasn't up to the standards I expect from Lululemon. Seems like the quality control has dropped a bit in my opinion.
Also, be aware that the Lululemon logo is printed on in some of the EBBs like the one below in Symphony Blue and Sonic Pink. Maybe it's the fabric of the bag but I can't see why they would not be able to use the metal logo.
The inside is the same as my other EBBs. Overall, I still think the Everywhere Belt Bag is one of the best purchases I have ever made from Lululemon. I still use it a few times a week. It's just so practical and keeps you hands free. It's a great bag to have that doesn't need to be babied like my leather bags. I'm sad that I have decided to return the Dusky Lavender. I had such high hopes for it!
That's it for me! Hope you enjoyed this quick review. See you all on Tuesday!!

Thank you soooo much for the review, Leslie! Canada has restocked Dusty Lavender but I was waiting for your review, and glad I did! While I don’t mind the darker purple color, the use of plastic hardware is definitely a deal breaker to me. I also prefer the slightly crinkly fabric used for Deco Pink.
ReplyDeleteI just looked at the colors offered and noticed that Silver Drop is probably made with the same fabric as Deco Pink, but I’m not sure if I like such a light color which will get dirty easily …
Hi Andrea! Silver Drop is really pretty, but yes there's a chance it can get dirty since it is a lighter color and unfortunately you can only spot clean. Doesn't seem like you can throw it in the washing machine. Definitely something to consider.
DeleteHi Andrea, I have Silver Drop EBB and can confirm that it has metal hardware and crinkly fabric. I have been using it a lot and it goes with everything. It has not gotten dirty yet. I put all my lulu bags in mesh bags and throw them in washing machine. They have all come out intact.
DeleteThat's great to know you can throw them in the washing machine! Might have to try that. Thanks AmherstLulu!
DeleteThanks so much for sharing your experience, AmherstLulu! Really appreciate it!
Deletedigging all the belt bags! agree with you on the zippers, the larger pull seems more sturdy!
ReplyDeleteHi Jean! Do you have any EBBs? The metal zipper pulls are definitely more sturdy and easier to grasp.
DeleteHi Leslie! Thank you for the review! I wanted to buy a black EBB when I was in the store over the weekend, but it has plastic zipper and logo. I think black EBB had metal hardware a while ago. Maybe I am imagining it. I don't understand why there are so many variations across different colors???
ReplyDeleteOh no! That's awful, I guess there's a few different variations of the black one. I do think it had the silver hardware- maybe the original release? Lulu is definitely trying to cut costs it seems on these bags since they are so popular.
