Fit Review! J.Crew Eloise Sweater Blazer

Is it Monday already? Do you guys remember J.Crew's Sophie Sweater Blazer I love so much I pretty much bought them in all the colors? It looks like J.Crew may be phasing it out and replacing it with the new Eloise Sweater Blazer. I had to try it and see how it compares to the Sophie.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size XXS or PXS in J.Crew. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops.

The first thing I noticed is the thinner fabric. This may not be a bad thing because the Sophie Blazer is on the heavier side and more suitable for chilly temperatures. The Eloise may be a piece that's easier to wear all year round. The second thing I noticed right away are the longer sleeves. I actually have them cuffed up a couple of inches. This might be an improvement depending on your preference as the sleeves on the Sophie are 7/8 lengths.

The collar has been updated with rounded lapels. As for the fit- it does run slightly larger than the Sophie. The length is just a tad shorter than the Sophie but the style is even more relaxed. It's perfect for casual office attire and also works for weekend outfits. Overall I did like this updated sweater blazer but ended up returning this one because I wasn't 100% sure about the walnut color on my asian skin tone. I think I will wait for more color selections besides the usual gray and navy.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a productive Monday!

  1. Nice casual jacket that can be dressed up! I'm not a fan of 7/8 sleeve length and actually prefer longer sleeves which can be rolled up if needed. Based on your fit reviews, I like the Eloise Sweater Blazer better!

    1. Hi Andrea! I am with you. I think I prefer the updated Eloise. I am hoping they will release this in a camel color. The walnut is just a little too brown for me.

  2. hi Leslie, I have the Sophie Sweater Blazer too! Only in one colour though, LOL! I think the Eloise Sweater Blazer is a nice update--the more casual look and thinner fabric are great for work-from-home. Like Andrea mentioned, I think this blazer can be dressed up or down. I would keep the sleeves full length for work and roll up the sleeves twice to 7/8 length for a more casual look. The walnut colour looks ok, but I would prefer light grey or camel as well!

    1. Hi Karen! I am pretty sure I have the Sophie Sweater Blazer in 4 colors. =D

Yes, I love pieces that can be worn double duty. Those are the best! They currently do have a light gray, which is not bad, but holding out for a camel color.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
