Fit Review Friday! Track That Mid Rise Short 5 inch, Wide Leg High Rise Crop, Perfectly Oversized Cropped Crew Softstreme

Happy Friday! This Lululemon haul will be split into two posts. Come back on Monday for part 2. This post also has a ton of pictures! I received a fit request for Track That Mid-Rise Short 5". I really wanted to try Wide Leg High-Rise Crop 19", and we have my new favorite Perfectly Oversized Cropped Crew Softstreme in Tidewater Teal. Yes I'm still on a Tidewater Teal kick. 😜

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear a size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms unless otherwise noted.

I was almost 100% positive the 5 inch length would not work on my petite legs but I was wrong. They're actually not bad from the front. The side looks okay too since there's a cute tulip hem. The waist sits mid rise and there is a drawcord on the inside. The fabric feels rough, which I wasn't expecting. The website describes it as seersucker texture. Now I'm not quite sure what that is so I Googled it. Google says it is woven in such a way, giving the fabric a wrinkled appearance and it's usually striped or checkered. Ya learn something new everyday! Before I forget, these shorts do have a built in liner.

I love Tidewater teal, it's one of my all time favorite Lululemon colors. The back of these shorts definitely looks a little frumpy and wrinkly even after I tried steaming them a bit. Just FYI, if wrinkles bother you, definitely stay away from this one. I'm wearing my usual size 4. I would say these fit true to size, maybe just slightly large. I say that because the waistband is pretty stretchy and I did not fill out the backside of these shorts. Verdict - I would try these shorts again in a different fabric and I also wouldn't mind trying the 3 inch version.

Up next, we have the Wide Leg High-Rise Crop 19" in Black and Spiced Chai. I couldn't decide which one I might like more, so I ordered both. I'm wearing my usual size 4 and they are true to size. I did notice the Spiced Chai ran just a tiny bit smaller than the black, but they were both still very comfortable. The waistband is very stretchy. These crops are designed for yoga and on the move. I was hoping to find something I could wear out on the weekends casually. The length of these measure 19" but they are still pretty long on me. They hit right on my ankle bone. The description for these say high rise, so maybe I could have pulled the waist up another inch, but I normally prefer my waistband right under my belly button.

The fabric is extremely soft. The fabric is made of Cupro which just feels like ultra thin Softstreme to me. It has that peach fuzz feel, but also soft and smooth at the same time. They are so comfortable it feels like a dream. The price tag is hefty though. These weigh in at $118 plus tax. While I did like these a lot, I didn't love them for the price. If they were maybe around $98, I might have considered keeping them. I may try and snag one when they hit WMTM. What do you think of these crops?

Here are a bunch of pics in Spiced Chai. This pair felt just a smidge smaller in the waist, but still very comfortable. The color is so pretty, and I'm totally dating myself here, but they remind me of I Dream Of Jeannie pants.

I do feel like the wrinkles show easily in this fabric. I also keep thinking there should be pockets on the sides, but there are none. There is a tiny pocket in the back part of the waist that can hold small items like cards or keys. Looking at my photos and the pictures from the website, the photos of the model definitely look a lot nicer.

And last but not least, Perfectly Oversized Cropped Crew in Tidewater Teal. I know a lot of people have a ton of Scuba Oversized 1/2 Zips, well this is my version of it. I think I'm going to have three of these by the end of next week. I may or may not have also bought this in Spiced Chai and Gray Sage. 🙈

I sized down to a 0 in this from my usual size 4. If you want a more in depth review, take a look at my original review here.

I think Tidewater Teal and Spiced Chai look great together! That's it for me, hope you all have a spectacular weekend! See you on Monday with part two.

  1. Thanks for the fit review, Leslie! I was interested in the Wide Leg High-Rise Crop 19" and so glad you gave it a try. I love the side and back views but not sure about the front. The wrap design does make the style more interesting but I’m not sure if I like it. The excess fabric might not be that flattering on a petite frame. The fabric does look really comfy though.

The crew looks really nice on you and it’s not super short even after going down two sizes. Tidewater Teal is a happy color and it goes well with a lot of colors. I’m thinking of getting the Cashlu Knit Textured Wrap at WMTM but don’t think I will make a lot of use out of it …

Have you received your AEJ in Spiced Chai? Can’t wait to see how it fits on you!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Hi Andrea! I didn't mind the wrap front on the Wide Leg High Rise Crop. It does drop a little low visually but I didn't think it was an unflattering look. I was a little more concerned about how it didn't look as smooth in appearance in the legs. But yes, it is really comfy.

The Cashlu Knit Wrap is very pretty. But agree probably wouldn't use it much out of the house?

I did receive the AEJ in Spiced Chai. I will have a very detailed fit review for that up on Monday - part two!! I took about 20 pictures!

  2. LoL- I loved ‘I dream of Jeanie’! The mid rise shorts are cute. I haven’t purchase any tidewater teal yet, but the shorts are tempting. The crops look good on you too, but the wrinkles would definitely bug me. I like the crops that tie in the front. Not sure what the name is but it dropped last week. Maybe that’s one of your next reviews? Thanks for the great review!

    1. Hi Sherry! Are these the crops you're talking about?

I looked at those but passed on it because usually ties in the front like that accentuate my hips and waist which I don't find flattering since I'm on the shorter side.

But if it's a different pair, let me know I'll take a look! Thanks!

    2. Yep- those are the pants. I passed also because ties in the front accentuate my tummy-lol. I wanted to see how it looked in a petite person. I don’t think it would accentuate the hips or waist though. Thanks for the reply- have a great weekend.

    3. I do like to be proven wrong, so I placed an order for one since you think it may work for petites.... I'm still skeptical!

    4. Yay! Look forward to your review. Thanks!

  3. hi Leslie, Thanks for the fit review! The Wide Leg High-Rise Crops are longer and wider than I expected. I'm kinda on the fence with this one. If the fabric wrinkles easily, perhaps black would hide wrinkles better than spice chai?

Tidewater teal and Spice chai are both very pretty and go well with many colours. The Perfectly Oversized Cropped Crew looks both comfy and flattering! I think it'll look great in Spice Chai!

Looking forward to part 2 of your review! Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Karen! Yes I agree the black would definitely hide the wrinkles. I guess if it hits WMTM I'll aim for that color.

      See you Monday! =)

  4. You have convinced me to get the POCC! in the AUS website I saw it comes in a blue color (I forgot the name but it came out last year I think..) and that's the color I want! Ok I think it's Hazy Jade! I love the white opal but I'd get that ruined instantly!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia. Anyway, today I have a belt bag size comparison review for you all! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
