Fit Review! Scuba Oversized Full Zip Hoodie & 1/2 Zip Hoodie

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I know a lot of you guys are looking forward to this fit review, so I'll get right to it.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops. For regular Scuba Hoodies I like to size up to a 6. Here I am wearing size XS/S for both.

First off, I liked this a lot more than I expected. I didn't mind the oversized fit of the body but the arms are still very baggy. The length of the sleeves are not too long when I used the thumbholes. The color is a true navy, hence the name. The fabric on the inside is fleece. This is a medium weight hoodie but because it is oversized it can feel a little drafty, so the coziness factor isn't the same as the regular Scuba Hoodie zip up. The length hits at the hip on my frame so it isn't as cropped as it looks on the models. I actually prefer it this way, it helps with the draft!

If you have pets, this attracts pet hair like crazy. I definitely would not be able to wear this with my cats around. This is also why I do prefer lighter colors or at least heathered colors, it helps mask things!

This definitely isn't very flattering.

As long as I kept my hands inside the pockets, I thought it looked fine for the most part. I do think I would consider keeping one in another color. Perhaps if it was released in grape thistle or blue borealis! I also think that the darker color helps with the oversized look. A lighter color will make it look more oversized as it did with the violet verbena.

Next up we have the Scuba Oversized 1/2 Zip in blue borealis. I could not pass up trying this lovely saturated blue color. I also lined up the Full Zip on top of the 1/2 Zip and I am happy to report that the cut and size are exactly the same. There really is no difference at all. Same length in sleeves and bagginess as well.

Again with the giant arms.

The blue borealis is lovely! I am crazy about this shade of blue. If this came in the full zip, I might have to get it. Oh the hood definitely has a very sharp point at the top center. I hope this is something that will flatten out eventually. Between the two styles I think I prefer the full zip. It's really a personal preference because I am not a huge fan of pullovers in general.

Which style do you prefer? What do you think of the two looks? Is it too oversized for petites? Let me know! Hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

  1. Hi! I think they both look great on you! But I prefer the full zip on you! It looks amazing and like you said it hits at the right spot. I’m 5’1 and it fits similar I love this full zip.

    1. Thanks Anna! Glad you like the full zip too. That's my pick as well.

  2. I bought the Navy full zip in xs/s too. 5'1 and it was a good length. I find that the full zip is not as thick as my half zip in trench... Did u notice that with yours? I wear the half zip all the time...I don't generally like pullover with a small opening but having a zipper helps. I think both full and half zip looks great on you!

    1. I didn't notice any difference between the two colors. I do think that I have found some regular Scubas to be not as thick as others depending on the color. But the navy and blue borealis are the same thickness.

  3. I like the looks of both of them on you! I prefer the idea of the full zip so I have to get one once a nice color comes out. Thank you for the timely review!

  4. Both look good but I kind of prefer the half zip on you, probably because of the pretty blue borealis color! It just looks so cute! :)

Much to my surprise they are not as oversized as I thought on a petite frame, but I definitely wish the sleeves were not as baggy and the hood not so pointy (I prefer the hood design for the original Scubas).

    Thanks for the fit review!

    1. Blue borealis is very pretty. I'm not sure why they changed the hood on these Scubas. The pointy hood is definitely interesting. haha.

  5. I went ahead and bought the navy blue and black full zips in M/L and love both of them!I prefer full zips to half zips. I prefer how the full zip looks on you.

    1. Thanks Jenny! I will always choose a full zip over the half zips. Just so much easier putting them on and off. Glad you love yours!!

  6. Blue borealis brings a nice pop of colour on dreary winter days! I really like it! Both styles look good on you! Navy is a safe choice for oversized hoodies, but I agree that grape thistle would be more special!

  7. Blue is one of my favorite colors and borealis blue looks so pretty but I already have three Scuba half zips!
At some point I will have to get a Scuba oversized full zip! I thought I didn't need it but it looks so effortlessly chic and oversized and comfy on you

  8. I like the look of both. I'm curious about the fit of the cuffs - I never wear my traditional scuba because i hate how tight the cuff is and how much of it there is on my wrist and forearm. I can see that the wrist area is fuller but how did you find the cuffs? That would be a deal-breaker for me.

    1. Good question! Cuffs were fine, not tight at all. I'm like you- can't stand the tight cuffs on the Scuba Hoodies. These didn't bother me at all.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
