Fit Review! Scuba Hoodie Plush! Chambray and Alpine White

Happy Wednesday?! It might as well be Friday. So since there wasn't an upload this week and I'm expecting huge Black Friday sales coming for Thursday and Friday, I decided to post my usual Fit Review Friday, today! I know everyone is wondering about this year's Scuba Hoodie Plush and how it compares to previous years.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops.

And don't forget to check out my latest giveaway!

My first Scuba Hoodie Plush was from 2018. I loved how thick and cozy it was. I bought a size 2 back then, and have since sold it because it was too tight in the shoulders. The following year another version of the Scuba Hoodie Plush was released and I bought it in Night Diver (see review). This version was slightly thinner but still a medium to heavy hoodie which I still wear even now, although it is a very pilly. 2020 is the third year Lululemon has released a plush Scuba Hoodie and it is even thinner than last year. I would say it's a light to medium hoodie even with the plushy inside. It just feels thin even though the price is still the same! I guess we should be happy the price hasn't gone up? 😅 This year's plush feels more like a spring hoodie. It's definitely not as cozy as the original. Just something to keep in mind.

(The silver accents are very subtle this year.)

I'm wearing a size 4 in both heathered chambray and alpine white. However the heathered chambray is noticeably bigger and has a looser fit than alpine white. I would say the alpine white is actually true to size. The chambray is a touch bigger but I wouldn't say it's a whole size bigger. I didn't mind either fit. As for the color, chambray is definitely a spring color. It's a light pastel blue with gray undertones.

(The inside is completely lined in this plushy fleece that includes the sleeves as well.)

As you can see the heathered alpine white is more fitted than the chambray. I'm not loving the alpine white, it looks a little too plain and the contrast zipper really stands out against the white. Between the two colors, I prefer the chambray. I placed an order for the heathered soft cranberry just to see if I would like it more than the chambray. I'm not 100% sold on either color so far. Maybe soft cranberry will be the winner? Stay tuned!

Overall, the Scuba Hoodie Plush is still my favorite Lululemon hoodie ever.  Not only because of the plushy inside, but I can actually push my sleeves up a bit and it doesn't feel tight around my wrists even with my Apple Watch. I will definitely keep one plush Scuba Hoodie. Are you a fan of the plush or do you prefer the regular cotton fleece version? That's it for me! See you all for Black Friday's drop! What do you hope to snag from the sale? Let me know! Also, have a Happy Thanksgiving and stay safe out there. Reminds me of a meme I saw, it's better to have a Zoom Thanksgiving than an ICU Christmas! Just sayin.

  1. It is too bad that Lulu has been cutting corners. It is not surprising though. Between the two, I like the Chambray on you in terms of the color and fit. I don't think I will pick any up this year unless they go on a huge markdown.

I missed out on the good stuff in the Monday drop. Let's hope that the BF drop will be at a reasonable time for me since I am not willing to sacrifice my sleep for lulu these days lol.

    1. Hmmm I wonder if these will go on markdown. Totally possible!

Monday's drop wasn't that great TBH. I only picked up a Cates Tee Fade in the blue.

  2. I found that the heathered cranberry Scuba Plush is maybe a tad thicker than the chambray one. I definitely prefer the heathered cranberry over chambray. The heathered cassis (I think that’s the color?) one I have from a couple of years ago does seem to be better quality. I’m keeping the cranberry and chambray ones though because I still love their softness and look.

It’s too bad Lululemon seems to cutting corners but raising prices. I’m have better luck with Athleta still!

    1. Interesting.. I'll report back when I receive the cranberry. Speaking of Athleta, I have some good reviews coming up! =D

  3. Thanks for the detailed review! I love my plush Night Diver from last year and waited for this year’s version to release. It’s disappointing they are even thinner, and the colors/details are quite underwhelming. Deep Fuschia with silver piping would have been pretty.

I agree with the others that LLL is cutting corners is super disappointing. The Reddit sub is going haywire over the decision to discontinue shipping bra pads with bra orders—or separately by request. Apparently, you can only get them in stores now. The reasoning is to reduce their carbon footprint. While I know a lot of people don’t use the pads, it sounds like a cost-saving move to me.

    1. Would have loved a jeweled tone one. I think that they released an amazing version the first year to get everyone hooked and then after that they start cutting corners. Very sad. That seems crazy, they should have the option of adding bra pads during check out. It's a crazy move especially since people can't get to stores right now. And shipping them out to 50% of the buyers (let's say) isn't really reducing their carbon footprint is it?

  4. Thank you so much for the fit review, Leslie. Wasn’t sure if I should give the Plush Hoodie a try but now that I know the material is even thinner than last year’s version, I will probably pass. It’s definitely disappointing that Lululemon is cutting corners cos I believe people are willing to pay a bit more for quality items.

Happy Thanksgiving and good luck with Good Friday Sale! :)

    1. I'm seriously thinking about returning them all if I don't love the colors because the price is high considering how much thinner the hoodie is now. Sigh. =T

  5. Strange the chambray fits much looser! I like either fit on you. I like the chambray color but it does look very spring. I personally don't mind a thinner hoodie bc it does not get very cold here and I can wear it more often. Disappointing for those who want cozy warmth though!
I cannot wait for the LLL BF drop! Can't wait to see what you pick up too!

    1. Maybe they need to release a thicker version and raise the price for those who want the super cozy warmth? Make it $148 for a super luxe version. lol. I'm sure people would pay!

    2. Hi, I actually like the thinner plush because it fits nice and doesn’t look too bulky . I have been reading your reviews since 2016, and I love them thank you for all your hard work!

    3. Anna- Wow 2016! Thank you for sticking around all these years!! I appreciate you coming by and letting me know.

  6. Thanks for the early review! I've been looking forward to this one! I like both hoodies on you! While the white is a perfect fit, I prefer a more relaxed fit these days purely for comfort. I agree that chambray is more of a spring colour, but I personally don't mind because I think it's a very pretty shade that makes me happy! I look forward to your review of the cranberry hoodie!

    1. Thanks! I hear the cranberry fits more like the alpine white, so we'll see which one I end up keeping. But agreed, the relaxed fit is definitely more tempting these days.

  7. I like the chambray color. It’s a nice pop of color during the winter months! The alpine white definitely fits better. Maybe the chambray would fit better in a size down.

    1. Thanks Sherry! Sizing down is also a possibility. I guess it depends on how you want it to fit. =)

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed a love/hate relationship with c
