Happy Friday! The weather this week has been awful for photos. It's been cloudy all week and I wasn't getting enough sunlight into the apartment so I had to improvise. I didn't want to disappoint you all and I really wanted to get this jacket up in time for fit review Friday. I think these might be the first pictures I took on the little balcony we have outside! 😆 I have a few more items to review and hopefully I'll have them up for Monday's post.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops. For the
Wunder Puff Jacket I sized down after reading all the reviews of it running large.
Initial thoughts, this jacket is POOFY! But I also love this duo chrome pink/purple so much! The color is awesome. I really really love the color of this jacket. I'm wearing a size 2 and I think this is the right call. My usual size 4 would have been enormous. I feel no restrictions in the shoulders and back which is where I was most concerned with going down a size. The fabric is water-repellent Glyde which is great but it does make a swishy sound when you move around in the jacket.
The hood is oversized (it's also removable) with a giant Lululemon logo that you can't miss at the top. I was surprised at the length of the sleeves. I was totally expecting it to be too long, but they're actually kind of perfect. Maybe just a smidge too long. The bottom photo is extra pink- not sure why the camera made it so bright. I tried to fix it in the photo editor, but it's still overly pink. You can tell because my leggings are black but they look gray.
Lululemon type on the left sleeve.
From the side is where I am not so sure of, I look like a marshmallow! I used the drawcords at the waist and at the hem to cinch and give the jacket some shape. The downside of using the drawcords is it makes the bottom half of the jacket poof out more.
As for warmth it does feel like it could be a very warm jacket even though it is very light weight. It contains 600-fill-power goose down. It is wonderfully soft and squishy! From the side you can see I look like a triangle without my hands in the pockets. When I have my hands inside the pockets, it pulls the jacket down a little and makes it less poofy looking.
Last thoughts, the quality is top notch. It's a super functional jacket and very well made. So guys, what do you think? My husband says no to the jacket and that "we won't be going out anywhere this winter anyway". 😒😑 I guess he's never seen pics of Ariana Grande wearing ginormous puffy jackets? She even wore one in the summer for some insane reason. Is it her style or is it because she's a celebrity that can pull this look off but the rest of us mere mortals cannot?
Gotta say I love this purple too. She looks like a young Jessica Alba here.
One more thing, the last time I bought a down jacket, it was the Pack It Down Jacket two years ago. I've since grown out of it. Too tight in the shoulders and back. Here's a quick photo as a refresher to show the difference between the two jackets.
Pack It Down Jacket - August 2018 Size 2
Leave me a comment below, yay or nay on this Wunder Puff Jacket in heather plumful. Is it worth keeping just because of the color? I would never purchase this if it wasn't for the duo chrome to be honest. Although, the pink fawn Wunder Puff Cropped Jacket did tempt me a little bit. If Lulu releases the heathered plumful in the crop version, I actually would get that to try. That's it for me! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! If you purchased this jacket let me know how you like it!

Yeah, I don't think Ariana Grande is actually pulling that look off and she would not be my fashion guide XD
ReplyDeleteLOL. Point taken. I think she still looks cute even in oversized clothing all considering how petite she is. Not that I would wear the whole outfit lol!
DeleteI think the jacket looks good on you, maybe a tad big. I love the color too and would have bought it, but now the color is sold out. Which I’m glad it’s not available. I saved some $$$$. I have bought so many things only to return them a few days later. Why? Because I have nowhere to wear them. I’m inside most of the time due to this pandemic. So, I kinda agree with your husband.
ReplyDeleteSomething else will come along..
Sigh, yes I think you're all correct. I will be returning the jacket. Hopefully it will go to someone who will use it! I probably wouldn't be using it much here in Atlanta...
DeleteI like my Wunder Puff Jacket in Plumful - size 4 fits well. It looks like I have a belly or pregnant from the side, which is the only gripe. I live in the northeast so I will get a lot of use out of it. If I lived where you are, I probably would not keep it.
ReplyDeleteYes it does make me look like I have a belly too! If I still lived in NY/Boston I probably would consider keeping it.
DeleteI think it looks good on you, maybe just a tad too big but not overwhelmingly so! I really dig the color. It makes me happy. I got mine a couple of days ago and kept the tags on but I think it’s a keeper for me. It’s been a year or two since I have bought a new winter coat and we live up in the mountains, pretty rural, and are outside people. We use our chimnea a lot too so this would get a lot of use for me. The color is what really does it for me! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you love yours! I'm actually kind of jealous LOL. I guess it's going back for me. Will keep looking for a new winter jacket. Thanks everyone for your feedback!!
DeleteHave you decided whether or not you’ll be keeping your Wunder Puff jacket?
DeleteI decided to return it even though I really really LOVE the color. I'm hoping Lulu will release this same color in another jacket that's less poofy. So far I'm still seeing it available on the website, so in case I change my mind maybe I'll order it again LOL!
DeleteI think the jacket looks great and is quite flattering for being such a puffy jacket! The color is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Janessa! The color really is amazing, I will give it that.
DeleteThe jacket looks cute on you and the color absolutely gorgeous! If you’re retiring your Pack it Down Jacket and need a winter jacket for replacement, seriously consider keeping it. We do expect some “marshmallow effect” wearing puff jacket and it’s not that bad in my opinion. Maybe keep it for a week, try it on a few more times, and see if you really love it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea too. I will try it on a few more times give it a few more days... the color is just so beautiful!
DeleteI'm in the "return" camp. It is very, very puffy and as your husband says, you probably won't be going out much this winter. The color is beautiful though.
ReplyDeleteBut what do I know? I also told you not to buy the Cashin Carry tote from Coach given that you weren't going to your office. Update: currently it is 30% off. I still can't get the large size (29) due to not being in an office environment right now, but I did get the smaller size (22) in the green color that is trimmed in pink. It's beautiful!
Hi Kathy! Yes I was looking at the Cashin Tote a couple of days ago when the sale started. I almost pulled the trigger on the saddle in the 29 inch size. I'm trying to hold out for a deeper discount maybe as Christmas gets closer... I've seen the green with the pink trim! It's super cute!
