Fit Review Friday! Cinch It Dress Black Cherry & Black

Happy Friday everybody! This week went by so fast. I can't believe it's almost May. Which hopefully means that warmer weather should be coming? I swear this is the never ending winter. I am so over it! I've been looking for a summer dress and decided to try the Cinch It Dress.

Typically I wear a size 4 in Lululemon, sometimes a size 2. I'm 4 feet 11.

Cinch It Dress Size 2 Black Cherry

I ordered a size 2 and a size 4 to try in this dress because I wasn't sure how it would fit. The size 2 definitely fits like a glove. There isn't any room to spare. If anything I feel the size 2 is a little too tight for my tastes, especially since I'm 37 years old. On the plus side, the length actually looks right on my petite frame. Part of it is because of the adjustable side cinch feature. It also helps that my butt fills out the lower part of the dress.

The arm hole is not too low in the size 2. It's just about perfect. In the size 4 you can see it's slightly lower and part of my bra shows. The dress is made of pima cotton and it's very soft and comfortable. The color is a dark purple with red undertones and goes well with my skin color.

Overall, it is super flattering even on my petite frame. I am unsure if it will shrink in the wash at all since it is pima cotton and if it shrinks it definitely won't fit me anymore, which is why I also purchased a size 4 to try on.

Cinch It Dress Size 4 Black

The size 4 is looser all around and definitely more comfortable to wear. The area between the back of my shoulder blades is very loose and you can see there's quite a bit of extra fabric. The length of the dress is also a few inches longer with the cinch tie not as fitted on me. Will it shrink in the wash? I don't know if I want to take the risk and find out. The size 4 doesn't look awful, but I'm not 100% convinced I should keep it. I wish there was a size in between the 2 and the 4.

Verdict? I'm sending both dresses back. Let me know what you think of this dress! This weekend I have zero plans except for spending time with the kittens and lots of cleaning! What are you up to this weekend?

  1. The BC in size 2 looks great! A definite keeper. I'm about the same size as you, but it did NOT look that good on me so I returned (despite my love for BC).

  4. You're so right about needing a 3! The 4 looks too big and the 2 looks great but I'm with you on the length... too short. Have a great weekend!

    1. The length on the 2 wasn't bad... but just overall a tad too tight.

  5. I think you made the right call if the 2 fest too short and I had the same issue. Size 2 was wearable but a bit on the overexposed side for my taste and the 4 was too big. Super frustrating because I love Lulu dresses!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
