Review! Gucci GG Marmont Matelasse Shoulder Bag Size Small Nude

Hope everyone had a great weekend! For those who celebrate Easter, hope you enjoyed time with your family. A few of you have been asking me to review my Gucci bag. Some of you may know handbags are my weakness. I've been somewhat obsessed with handbags since 2003. I've had a long history with Balenciagas. They have been my go to bag for over a decade, but now I'm ready to expand to other brands.

This is my second Gucci bag ever. A long time ago I bought a brown suede Gucci, but it wasn't very user friendly even though it looked amazing. Now when I buy handbags, I make sure it's practical for my lifestyle. Cross body bags are very popular right now because who doesn't like a hands free bag? It's an absolute must these days.

Sizing is also something to consider. This Gucci comes in 2 sizes. The mini and the small. I've seen both sizes in person. The mini is SUPER tiny. It's a little bigger than an iPhone plus. I kid you not! If you want a bag just to hold your phone and wallet, then go for the mini. The price of the mini is under $1000. These days finding a high end designer bag made in Italy for under $1000 is RARE. The size small clocks in at $1200, but the size is more practical for every day use. It can fit my iPhone 6, my two card cases, pack of gum, inhaler, lipstick, and keys with room to spare. It's a little bit bigger than my J.Crew Signet bag which I also have reviewed here.

If you really want to put things into perspective, the J.Crew Signet bag is $128 retail, and right now they have a 25% off coupon code HOPTOIT which would bring cost of the bag $96. It's less than 10% of the cost of the Gucci.

That said, I reeeeeeeally wanted the Gucci bag. It's been on my wish list for months. The color nude is only available in the size small from Gucci's website. It's exclusive to Gucci.com.

The nude color is super pretty in the sunlight or any type of natural outdoor lighting. It can look pinkish. Indoors, the color looks more like a taupe. The hardware is antique gold. I typically do not like gold hardware and prefer silver, but this gold is very subtle which I really like.

For those who are worried about the length of the shoulder strap, I will tell you a secret. I'm only 4 feet 11, and the strap has a 24 inch drop. It's too long for my short torso. I've tied a knot to shorten the strap and it's working well for me. You can see it in the 4th photo next my Balenciaga.

As of right now, Gucci.com has the nude color backordered, but it's totally worth the wait in my opinion. It's a very classy bag. It does remind me of the 70s because of the chevron pattern but combined with the color nude, the antique hardware and size of the bag this will remain a classic.

I'm also tempted to buy the matching card case. It's it so cute?! I also have my eye on this velvet version. That's it for me, hope you all have a great Monday!!

    1. Which size and color are you eyeing?

    2. I was eyeing this small size or the shoulder size. Since I dont have any nude color bags, my eyes were in nude and black (somewhat we all ended up with black bag, right?)

    3. Ah then you totally need the nude color in your collection! Everyone has at least one black bag, so I think nude is the way to go. A black bag will always be available to purchase, but the nude is a little more special. I'm totally eyeing the velvet shoulder bag though. Maybe for Christmas! =D

    4. I wonder of Gucci put any of mammont on sale on May. They won't put nude nor black on sale but maybe light pink?? I'd like to know where it goes!!

    5. I heard Gucci will no longer do sales, but I don't know if that's 100% true. If you find it on sale let me know and I will do the same!

    1. Yay! I haven't seen too many people carrying the Marmont bag, whereas I've seen so many people with the Disco bag.

    1. Honestly I kind of just fiddled with it for a while until I was satisfied with it. I start where the buckle is and I wrapped it around twice and looped it through with the end sticking up instead of down. The knot itself is on the back of my shoulder when wearing it so you don't see it from the front. I've been pretty much knotting all my bags these days! It does take a while to get it the way I like it, but with some patience it will.

  6. Hi!

Love your review and the bag. I am considering this color too and wondering if it gets dirty easily and if it is easy to clean? Thank you!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
