Review! Banana Republic Italian Nubuck Leather Boat Shoe With Lettuce Socks!

Happy Friday! How is it already mid July? I've been looking for a pair of shoes that I can wear when I want to look a little more dressed up instead of wearing my usual sneakers all the time. I'm also currently obsessing over nubuck and these boat shoes from Banana Republic caught my eye. The reviews were not great, mainly because of sizing issue. Almost every review complained about how small they were. Since they are on super sale I decided to take a chance and give them a try. I also wanted to pair them with lettuce socks. 😅

For reference I wear size 5.5 in most sneakers/trainers.

The lettuce socks are from Bombas. They're mid-lightweight socks and great for summer. I'm not a fan of white socks, so I went with an off-white sand color. I think they're super cute! I wear size small in Bombas socks and it's always a perfect fit.

As for the sizing on the shoes, I decided to go up half a size. It actually fits pretty well. The width is perfect, but the length is slightly long. I am going to add a heel liner and I think that should do the trick. I wore them out once for date night (we saw Supergirl) and they're surprisingly comfortable. The nubuck leather feels very nice and soft to the touch. The only thing I don't love are the shoelaces. They tend to come undone no matter how hard I pull the knot. I haven't come to a solution just yet. I may look into swapping out the laces for something else. The quality of the shoe is what I would expect from Banana Republic. It's very well made. The bottom of the sole is smooth so I would not wear these out in the rain.

As an elder millennial, I always wear ankle socks, no matter if it's summer or winter. But I think it may be time I add some quarter socks to my rotation. I may try Lululemon's Lettuce Socks but I'm slightly hesitant because the last time I ordered Lululemon socks they were too big even in size small. That's it for me! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
