Fit Review Friday! Vuori Halo Mini Full Zip Hoodie and Varley Marty Active Shorts and Maeve Cropped Baby Tee

Happy Friday! It's been a hot and humid summer so far. I'm living in tanks and linen pieces to stay cool. Nothing has really caught my eye these days and I'm feeling very uninspired by most brands lately. I  stopped by Anthropologie and Vuori to see if there was anything interesting to try on.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size XS/PXS in tops and bottoms.

I thought this outfit looked cute together, the shorts are very retro which I love. I'm a fan of Varley but their prices are steep. I'm wearing size XS and fits well. These shorts retail for $88. 😑 I love them, but I don't love them at $88. My max for shorts is $70. I have to draw the line somewhere! The Maeve tee is also cute. It's a baby tee so I sized up to a medium and fits like a normal tee. So much better sizing up!

Next stop- Vuori. I'm happy they opened up a store near me, but they didn't have much new stuff to try on. I think everyone is just trying to get rid of inventory. I grabbed this hoodie because the color looked very calming. It's a tight fit in my usual size XS. I forgot how small this hoodie runs. Would definitely need to size up at least one size.

A size small would have been a more relaxed fit, which I prefer these days. In other news, I am finally going to place a small Lululemon order. It's been months since I actually purchased anything. Will have a fit review coming soon! That's it for me, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Cute tee! I love oysters. I hope you ordered this to try. It’s so different.. it’s the ace advantage terry polo https://images.lululemon.com/is/image/lululemon/LW3KGVS_073366_1?wid=1280&op_usm=0.5,2,10,0&fmt=webp&qlt=80,1&fit=constrain,0&op_sharpen=0&resMode=sharp2&iccEmbed=0&printRes=72. I like a few items from their ace advantage line. Like the jacket but price is too high. Cindy

    1. Hi Cindy! Same I love oysters too. I didn't order the polo, not a fan of the cropped length or the waistband. The jacket is nicer but I also don't play tennis or pickel ball.

  2. Thanks for another great fit review, Leslie. Nothing from LLL has caught my eye either but I’m still a big fan of their bags. Wonder if you remember but I ordered the Slouchy Sling Bag 13L in Downtown Tan and ended up exchanging it for a black one which doesn’t get dirty easily. The bag is way bigger than I thought (I have the 6L version) but doesn’t overwhelm my tiny frame. I didn’t need another bag but just had to keep it. :)

Fall items are rolling out in some retail stores and I got a matching sweater/pant set from Uniqlo last weekend The fabric is soft and I hope it holds up well after washing. I find myself shopping more at Uniqlo these days cos the prices are more reasonable. You can check out the pictures for the brown set I got.

I’m looking forward to seeing more fall items, hopefully in pretty jewel tones.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

    1. Hi Andrea! I have a couple of tees I bought from Uniqlo last year. I do like them a lot. How long are the pants? It doesn't say on the website. I don't have a store near me. I wish one would open up. The set you bought looks very nice. Love it!

I haven't seen a Lulu bag I liked since the Convertible Ruched Crossbody Bag I got last year. I still like it a lot but it is big too.

    2. Hi Leslie,
I figured inseam measurements differ slightly from pair to pair for a lot of their pants.. I tried on two pairs (size XS) of this style and picked the slightly longer pair with an inseam of 28.5”. The other pair was half an inch shorter.

Uniqlo does offer seam alteration service for some pants and you can specify the inseam length when you place an order. You can’t return those items though.

    3. Interesting! Didn't know they offer alterations. Too risky since I need to try them on first. I think I am done with buying pants that need alterations. I have 3 pairs sitting on my chair for a LONG time, and I haven't brought them in yet. I keep meaning to but never get around to it.

    4. I’ve been doing pant length alterations myself using hand stitchings, even for jeans (as I’d like to keep the original hems). :)

  3. Thanks for the review! I like the retro look of the shorts, too, but $88? 😅 I think $70 is a fair line to draw.

I received my Midnight Eclipse HHs from the SW drop and really like the color. It’s a rich, dark brown like Sequoia. I love the rainbow letters.

Looking forward to see what you picked up from LLL!

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
