Fit Review! Lululemon Split Shift Running Shoe

Happy Friday! First week of January already in the books. Today's review is the last Lululemon purchase I made in 2025. I've been curious about the Split Shift Running shoe ever since it was released, but I wasn't tempted to make the purchase until I saw it in Atmospheric Purple.

For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Lululemon and Allbirds. This is my normal shoe size.

Just want to point out the reflective detail. In some angles, it looks pink/purple and in other lighting it looks green! It's super cool.

This is a rocker style running shoe with a 7mm heel to toe drop. I've worn this pair for about two weeks and they're very comfortable. I'm wearing my usual size 5.5 and they fit true to size, and note that I like to wear thick socks. If you do get a pair of these to try, I would highly recommend redoing the laces completely. Whoever initially did the laces, laced them up extremely tight. I thought I would have to go up a size. But after redoing the laces, and wearing them for a day, they feel perfect. That said, if you do have wide feet, definitely size up.

Atmospheric Purple looks to be a very dark eggplant. The purple is very subtle. I'm shocked at how much I am loving Lululemon's running shoes. I love their Beyondfeel Running shoe and didn't think I would like these as much, but they're right up there with them. If you prefer a more cushioned shoe, go with the Beyondfeel. The Split Shift Running shoe feels more solid under my feet, but they're very smooth and responsive.

Let's take a closer look at the details.

Here they are right out of the box. They come with an extra set of laces which is nice, but I don't think I'll ever need them. I guess we'll see!

The upper part of the shoe is engineered feather-light mesh. The collar at the heel is padded and my ankles feel supported. The midsole has some cushion, but to me the shoe feels fairly neutral. The laces are flat and I haven't had any issues with them coming loose.

The bottom of the sole has good traction, although I have not worn these in the rain yet. Atlanta is in the middle of a draught.

Overall, very happy with my new pair of shoes. Retail price is $158 which is a little pricey, but I literally have zero complaints about these shoes so I would dare say it's worth the money. Would 100% get another pair. Happy to add these to my shoe collection. I haven't tried these on a run yet, but I just got my treadmill last week and can't wait to give them a try! We're still in the process of getting the house set up, so hopefully I'll get to try these on a run soon.

That's it for me this week. Let me know what you think of these shoes. Do you have a pair?! Hope you all have a great weekend!

(Once again this color combo with Twig kills me! I love it.)

(I can't believe the herringbone jackets are already on sale.)

(Wasn't this the retail price before the price increase? lol.)

  1. Lululemon looks like they have some variation of this purple in all different shapes and sizes, this must be their IT color for this season! Would be interesting to hear how your new shoes perform once in use.

    1. Hi AC! I'll post an update after I go for a run in them. I am loving all the dark purples.

  2. I prefer the men’s version of the Split Shift Running Shoe in Atmospheric Purple. The ladies’ version looks very busy with all the contrasting color details. I believe the extra pair of shoelaces are in a different shade of purple. :)

When my Beyondfeel Waterproof Running Shoes arrived, the shoelaces were also laced extreme tight and I nearly went for a half size up.

    1. Hi Andrea! The men's are more solid purple. I love the contrasting colors on the women's, keeps it more interesting imo. I took a closer look at the laces and you're right, it is a different shade of purple but honestly, it looks so similar, it's not much of a difference.

  3. I LOVE the color shift on the shoes!! It’s so pretty with the dark purple. I recently bought some align shorts, 25”pants in sequoia, and the waist seamed nulu long sleeve in white opal which is so pretty on but it moves when I lift my arms all the way over my head… so it’s going to be for casual wear. I have never tried LLL shoes but I don’t need any new sneakers so I’ll just eye them from afar lol

    1. I also want the herringbone define in the light color nutmeg? I think it’s so pretty and I loved herringbone back in the day that LLL released

    2. Hi Janessa! How do you find the sizing on the Waist Seamed Nulu Long Sleeve? Also, is it as cropped as it looks on the model?

Leslie, I think those shoes are awesome! I think I prefer the look of the Split Shifts better than the Beyondfeels. I'm always a sucker for purple!

    3. Hi Janessa! The herringbone isn't as soft as the old herringbone we both know, but It's still very pretty though.

    4. Hi Lola! Really!!! Wow, I can't wait to see which shoe I prefer more. Can't wait to test them out further. But so far, I really like them!

  4. I love these shoes! I'm not a runner but take a few tread/lift classes a week, and these make me feel light on my toes. Because they are rockers, I don't like them for any lower body work, but they are great for running/upper body days. I use Beyondfeels for the other days.

    1. Hi LZ! Glad you love them too! So far have only worn them to walk. But I'm really liking them. Both styles are my go to shoes at the moment. Very impressed.

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
