Fit Review Friday! Store Try Ons Lululemon Cross Chill City To Trail Jacket and Water Resistant Cropped Hooded Jacket

Happy Friday! My husband convinced me I should have a rain jacket, apparently this fall season may be more rainy than usual. I used to have a rain jacket but I eventually rehomed it because I didn't love the material. It felt a little too rubbery and plasticky. So off I went to Lululemon to see what I could find.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 and XS/S in Lululemon. I also wear size PXS in Athleta.

Here is the Cross Chill City to Train Jacket and I'm wearing size small. The store did not have size XS for me to try. I knew it would be a little big but I wanted to see if I liked it enough to order my size online. Size small actually wasn't that huge. It was loose overall, but it was a very comfortable fit with room to layer. The one thing I didn't like is the zipper. It's smooth, but it feels extra sticky to me like tape. It's a little hard to describe.

The sleeves are always soooo long on Lululemon jackets. 😓 The hood was pretty good, I liked that it stayed up and it covers up a lot. This jacket is waterproof and windproof.

Inside is lined.

Next up, we have the Water Resistant Cropped Hooded Jacket. I found this on the sale rack and it is currently marked down to $149. The only size they had was XXS. I figured I would try it on.

(on sale $149)

The length hits at the hip, which is a little short for a rain jacket, but I liked how it could also be worn as a fall jacket as well. It doesn't scream rain jacket to me. It looks to be more versatile. It was very roomy for size XXS. I could definitely layer if I wanted to.

The sleeves weren't overly long! I cuffed them up once and it was fine. Most rain jackets are made of thicker material and sometimes cuffing can be awkward. This fabric feels lightweight and easy to fold. This jacket isn't waterproof but water resistant. This should be fine for what I'll be using it for. I'm mainly going to be ducking in and out of stores. 😂

I'm happy to let you all know the zipper was perfect and buttery smooth. There are drawstrings at the hem of the jacket to cinch, to keep the wind out. I didn't 100% love the drawstrings as I'm pretty lazy when it comes to doing anything more than zipping up a jacket, but I think I will either leave them as is, unless I can figure out how to tie them permanently out of the way.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Let me know if you have a favorite rain jacket!

  1. I think the cropped version of the jacket looks good on you without being too cropped! I really like the translucent jacket, I wonder how thin the material is, I’m going to have a look at it when I get the chance.

    1. HI AC! Thank you so much! The Translucent Jacket looks pretty thin. It's sheer in the Serene blue. Description says UltraLight Sheer Fabric.

    1. Hi there! They are Vuori joggers. I got them a couple of years ago and love them. Here's my review.

  3. The cropped jacket is pretty cute! I'm glad the sleeves are okay in length. And it's always a score when it's on markdown :)

Speaking of which, I snapped up the Chargefeels in Desert Rose so fast when I saw they were on markdown! I think I'm happy with my shoe collection now. If I get any more, I'll have to start rehoming some!

  4. Hi have the older version of the Cross Chill City To Trail Jacket (Cross Chill Jacket) and know exactly what you mean about the zipper. I think it has something to do with the waterproof seal. I love the cozy plush inside.

    1. Hi LZ! Ah yes, that must be it. Makes sense honestly, I just don't like the feel of it.

  5. Thank you for your review - it is so helpful (and literally the only one on the water-resistant cropped hooded jacket). How have you been liking it? Would you say it’s layerable? I want to wear it on top of my light puffer but didn’t know how/if that would work or if it would look strange since it’s a bit thinner. Unfortunately no store near me has it for me to try on. Thank you so much in advance for your help!

    1. Hi Eunice! I love the Water Resistant Cropped Hooded Jacket. It's very roomy for layers. I think it would work if the light puffer is fitted. The jacket runs very large imo. I'm usually size XS and I sized down in this and it's still pretty roomy. Hope that helps!

  6. I’m considering the cross chill. I’ve tried on the performance version which is more fitted and found myself in between small and medium. The small was too tight on my chest and arms but medium too loose everywhere. Did you feel the city to trail version was too roomy or big? I’m an inch taller than you and wear size 6 tops.

    1. The City To Trail felt roomy in size small. I could easily wear a sweater underneath. If I wanted a more fitted look I would get the XS, but I wouldn't be able to layer. Both sizes would fit, just need to decide if you want to be able to layer or not.

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
