Fit Review Friday! Store Try Ons Lululemon Cross Chill City To Trail Jacket and Water Resistant Cropped Hooded Jacket
Happy Friday! My husband convinced me I should have a rain jacket, apparently this fall season may be more rainy than usual. I used to have a rain jacket but I eventually rehomed it because I didn't love the material. It felt a little too rubbery and plasticky. So off I went to Lululemon to see what I could find.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 and XS/S in Lululemon. I also wear size PXS in Athleta.
Cross Chill City To Trail Jacket Black Size Small
Here is the Cross Chill City to Train Jacket and I'm wearing size small. The store did not have size XS for me to try. I knew it would be a little big but I wanted to see if I liked it enough to order my size online. Size small actually wasn't that huge. It was loose overall, but it was a very comfortable fit with room to layer. The one thing I didn't like is the zipper. It's smooth, but it feels extra sticky to me like tape. It's a little hard to describe.
The sleeves are always soooo long on Lululemon jackets. 😓 The hood was pretty good, I liked that it stayed up and it covers up a lot. This jacket is waterproof and windproof.
Inside is lined.
Next up, we have the Water Resistant Cropped Hooded Jacket. I found this on the sale rack and it is currently marked down to $149. The only size they had was XXS. I figured I would try it on.
(on sale $149)
The length hits at the hip, which is a little short for a rain jacket, but I liked how it could also be worn as a fall jacket as well. It doesn't scream rain jacket to me. It looks to be more versatile. It was very roomy for size XXS. I could definitely layer if I wanted to.
The sleeves weren't overly long! I cuffed them up once and it was fine. Most rain jackets are made of thicker material and sometimes cuffing can be awkward. This fabric feels lightweight and easy to fold. This jacket isn't waterproof but water resistant. This should be fine for what I'll be using it for. I'm mainly going to be ducking in and out of stores. 😂
I'm happy to let you all know the zipper was perfect and buttery smooth. There are drawstrings at the hem of the jacket to cinch, to keep the wind out. I didn't 100% love the drawstrings as I'm pretty lazy when it comes to doing anything more than zipping up a jacket, but I think I will either leave them as is, unless I can figure out how to tie them permanently out of the way.
That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Let me know if you have a favorite rain jacket!
