Fit Review Friday! Athleta Halo Flannel Puffer Jacket and Aire Puffer Vest and How To Get the BEST Deals at Athleta

Happy Friday and Happy Halloween! The holiday sales have officially started. Athleta is having their 30% off sale for card holders this weekend only. I'm interested in their waffle line, and want to try the hoodie and jogger. I'm going to be more selective with my purchases and will only keep it if I truly love it!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size PXS in Athleta. I also wear size 4/6 in Lululemon.

(25% off!)

When I saw this jacket on their website, I was immediately interested. It reminds me of a Vuori jacket from last year, except Vuori runs so large, even their smallest size would never fit me. The Athleta store near me had size XXS to try on! This also comes in petite, but honestly, size XXS fit me just fine. The sleeves didn't feel overly long and I really liked the length of the jacket.

😍

When I tried this on, it wasn't on sale yet. When I saw it was 25% off on the website a couple of days ago, I immediately added it to cart. I managed to stack a few more codes on top of the sale price and got a really good deal! More on this later.

The outside is super soft, it has a soft flannel feel. Very plushy and semi-warm. The retail price is $249 which was priced a little too high in my opinion considering the insulation is not down, but I live in a mild climate so I don't need down jackets very often in Atlanta. I will probably get more use out of this jacket than my warmer jackets.

As much as I love the jacket, I am disappointed with the lining. I knew there would be something I didn't like about this jacket. I wish it was lined with the same fabric as the outer shell. I guess they have to cut corners somewhere. I ended up getting this jacket for under $100, so I can't really complain.

(25% off!)

Next up, we have the Aire Puffer Vest in Garnet. I'm wearing size XS and could have easily sized down. This vest is super lightweight and perfect for layering over a sweater or hoodie. This is also made of recycled material.

I'm wearing it over my Aviator Nation hoodie and it was a nice fit. I love the color!

How To Get The BEST Deals!

    1. Wait for a sale.
    2. Check Reddit page for stackable coupon codes for extra savings.
    3. Consider opening an Athleta card. The rewards accumulate so much faster for additional discounts on your purchases.
    4. If you have a card, one of the perks is you get to create your own sale day for an extra 15% off. I had not used mine this year and decided to apply it to my order since I knew I would keep both items.
    5. Remember to use your rewards!

I was able to get both items for a total $149.14!! Total savings is 65% off. Honestly I would have been thrilled to pay $125 for the jacket and $75 for the sweatshirt. It's insane I was able to get the jacket for $88.62 and the sweatshirt for $49.47. On top of that this isn't even finale sale. It's still returnable!

Initial 25% off sale.
I found a code for 20% off $100
Used my 15% off - Create your own sale day
Used $40 rewards on top.

I am pretty happy with my savings! Especially since I knew these two items are keepers.

  1. Wow! That's an awesome deal! It'd be so neat if Athelta could've lined your jacket with a cotton/flannel material as the inside lining. Vuori seems to be expanding quickly, recently read that they're opening up in China. They have already opened a handful of brick and mortar locations in the SF Bay Area, there's even an outlet location. Have a great Halloween weekend!

    1. Hi Jean L! Yeah, the lining is a little cheapy to me. Sigh. But at least it looks great and fits well! I haven't ordered anything from Vuori in a long time. Not many of their tops fit me and I really have enough joggers from them to last me a long long time. Sounds like they are expanding super fast. There is one store in Atlanta, but it's a little far from where I am. Wish they would open up another closer to me. Have a great Halloween weekend too!

  2. Wow, it’s your lucky day for sure! Sadly none of the codes work on the Canadian site. :(

The Ottoman Rib 1/4 Zip Sweatshirt is currently on sale but it’s expensive even at 25% off. Is it warm like fleece?

    1. Hi Andrea! Bah that sucks. Keep checking the Reddit page I linked to. Sometimes people from Canada post codes that work. The Ottoman Rib Sweatshirt has more of a ribbed feel. It's warm and soft but I don't think it's heavy fleece. It's on the thinner side if that helps.

  3. I used to be a die-hard couponer so it was fun to see how you stacked the deals. You got it for a song and it looks cute on you!

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
