Happy Friday! If you read my blog regularly, you know that my Friday posts are themed “Fit Review Friday” but unfortunately with the traveling my husband and I have been doing, I haven’t had time to order anything or visit a store long enough for store try-ons.
But I will admit that Lulu’s latest offerings haven’t left me feeling inspired. Add to that the price increase which Lululemon introduced with this week’s drop, I’m starting to question if what Lulu offers is worth the price. I’m totally aware that price and value are subjective and that I spend more money on bags than nearly any of my friends are willing to spend, but there is something disheartening about not being wow’d by what Lululemon is offering and seeing price increases even before the tariffs hit. What’s going to happen if/when tariffs do take place? I’m curious if anyone else is feeling this way and if so, has another brand piqued your interest? Please let me know in the comments if you've found a Lululemon replacement.
I know I covered our time and anniversary in Boston already, but we also went to Newport, RI. Most of Jared’s family had left NYC and half of them moved to Newport, which is just an hour or so from Boston, so we spent some time with them. Their backyard was filled with bunnies and there were two baby blonde bunnies. Super adorable. Side note- I did visit Lululemon while in Newport and the store is so small.
If you haven’t seen my YouTube short, I got a really pleasant surprise while in Newport. The wife of Jared’s uncle used to be friends with the wife of a former CEO of Coach and she would be gifted Coach bags from the early 2000s. His uncle’s wife really isn’t into purses, so most of these bags just sat in her closet. A few of them are still brand new! Knowing that I’m into bags, I was shown the collection she had and I offered to help sell them for her. She did say if I wanted to keep any of the bags for myself, I could. The only one that would tempt me is the ostrich Legacy tote! Photos to come. I didn't have any room to bring them with me on the airplane, so they shipped them in a giant box and it just arrived. There are seven bags total (I think) and I will be listing them on Poshmark and Ebay. I'll post an update when the bags are live.
That's it for me, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
I'm glad to see you had fun while travelling with your hubby. I loved the picture of the wee bunny, and that pizza looks SO good!
ReplyDeleteI am in agreement with your "Lulu apathy". Aside from the shoes (which I wear daily and love), I haven't really been too excited about any of the new stuff for quite some time. I think I've complained about this before, but I'm bored with all the releases of their usual stuff, but just in slightly different colors. I get it: it's their tried and true styles, but I don't need multiples of Swiftly Tees or Define Jackets. As for the new styles they've been offering, I think it is being geared to the younger crowd. I mostly look at accessories and shoes on the site now. And as for workout clothes, I'm finding I reach for other brands more often now, because they're more comfortable and, to be honest, they're more flattering, in my opinion.
And I hear you about the price increases. I've hit my limit with what I'm willing to spend. I'm finding even the WMTM prices on some items are still too high for my comfort-level and budget. Athleta's prices are creeping up as well, but at least they have sales quite often.
Hi Lola! I just ordered a pair of Beyondfeel shoes in Twilight Rose. It randomly came back in stock in my size! I hope it fits. I think we're all a bit bored with the same styles just in new colors week after week. Hard to believe the only thing I bought from Lulu this year so far has been a pair of Hotty Hots! Athleta has gotten more of my money this year but overall my spending on clothing has gone down a lot. I really like Varley but only purchased one item so far. They are even more expensive than Lulu!
DeleteI can’t wait to see the pics of those Coach bags!
