My Skin Regimen and What I Think Helps Me Stay Looking Young and Coach Empire 28 Unboxing Video!

 


Today's post is something a little different. I posted these two photos (above and below) side by side a month ago and I got more than a few comments from my friends who have known me forever, saying that I don't age. I assure you, I do! I think 80% of it is genetics and the fact that Asian Don't Raisin. 😆 

I will also preface to say that I don't drink alcohol, smoke, or vape.

So, it got me thinking, is it really just luck and genetics? I'm approaching mid-40s. I will definitely be mid-40s by my next birthday. 

In my 20s, I rarely wore make up or sunscreen. However, I will say I am not a fan of the sun. I'm usually not out of the house until mid-day. In my 30s, I used minimal amounts of make up until the pandemic. By 2020, I was 39 years old and I haven't used make up since. I have been using Drunk Elephant as my daily moisturizer for night and day. I've been using it for over 6 years now. 


When I know I'll be in the sun, like a lot of sun and direct sun for more than an hour I'll put on sunscreen. I generally avoid the sun if I can though. 


In the mornings I'll wash my face with a soft baby towel with warm water and nothing else. While my face is still slightly damp I'll put on the moisturizer. I really think that helps my face from drying out. Again, no make up. At night when I shower, I'll wash my face with this cleansing bar. 


Once a week, or when my face feels flaky, I'll exfoliate and follow up with a cleanser from Lancer. Since I only use these two products about once a week, they last a long time. I mainly use the cleansing bar.



I recently bought this red light therapy mask from Dr. Dennis Gross. I've only had it for a few weeks, so I can't say if I have noticed any difference yet. The website says it takes about 4-6 weeks for results, so I will report back! I bought this one because it has three options, red light, blue light, and a combination of both. Red light helps with anti-aging and sunspots, blue light helps reduce acne. I still get acne from time to time, so I have been switching between two settings (red light and combination of the two).


Other things that I think help with my skin are collagen vitamins and bone broth. The Biotin helps with my hair and nails. My nails are super strong and I can grow them fairly long and they never break. My hair is still very thick, and I barely have any white hairs. It's two pills a day.



I absolutely love this bone broth. I've been drinking it for years. I don't drink it everyday, but definitely at least 3 times a week. I also like to mix a scoop of protein powder in it, to get extra protein. The bone broth already has about 15 grams in one carton. I split the carton into two servings. 


I'm still exercising at least four days a week. I aim for five times a week. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. I try to get at least 10K steps a day. I sleep for a minimum of seven hours a night. I try and drink as much water as I can! I also drink at least one cup of green tea everyday.   1. Good genetics aside, I think you have a good regime, not just for skincare, but for overall health. I incorporated collagen supplements into my diet a few years ago, and my fingernails have definitely gotten some benefits, but I haven't really noticed an improvement in my skin. However, it hasn't gotten any worse either, so maybe it's working?

    I don't drink or smoke either, and I work out 5 times a week. My sleep and water intake could definitely be improved though!

    I use a lot of skin care products from The Ordinary. It's no-nonsense, and it's not expensive! I also started using collagen-infused face wipes - again, not sure if it's helping with fine lines, but it sure makes my skin feel soft!

    1. Hi Lola! I could also work on drinking more water. Ohhh, collagen wipes - might have to look into that! But agree, living a healthy lifestyle is the best thing to do for your wellbeing! So true, the older you get.

  2. Please report back on the red light mask! I have always itched to get one and never pulled the trigger. I always wondered if it was a scam, harmful, or a silver bullet!

    1. Hi AC! Will definitely review the mask. So far I've been using it everyday for three minutes. Which to be honest, I don't think is a lot of time. But I'm following the instructions. Hope to have a review up sometime in June!

  3. You look fantastic and I think a lot has to do with staying fit and working out! I’ve heard of the red light masks but never tried and am excited to hear what you think! I think people who are in shape and active glow and look more alive and bright in the long run -Janessa

    1. Thanks Janessa! I remember one of my co workers telling me in my 20s that if you take care of yourself when you're younger, your older self will thank you for it. And it was something that really stuck with me. Staying active is the best thing you can do.

  4. You have a great routine! I'm asian and in my late 30s. I work with a lot of early twenty-somethings, and they can't believe I'm not in my 20s. They want to know what I do. Sunscreen any time I am in the sun - even just for driving and running errands - but I also mostly avoid the sun. I have never been in a tanning bed. Moisturize, very little makeup/always wash it off before bed, moisturize, very little alcohol, no smoking, regular exercise, a mostly healthy diet, water, sleep, and low stress. It's a lot of things many young people don't want to give up, but I've always just preferred this lifestyle. I also started going to heated workout classes in the past year or so and find regular, very sweaty sessions make my skin softer.

    1. Thanks LZ! Yes! Sounds like you're also living a very healthy lifestyle. I've never liked drinking alcohol, it gives me a bad case of the asian flush. Getting enough sleep is so important too. You're going to look amazing in your 40s!

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

  You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better!
