Review! Mulberry Small Antony Crossbody Bag in Legacy NVT Oak

I can't believe this is the last week of February. If you're joining me for another No Buy Challenge in March, start prepping for it. If there's anything you really want, get it now! I did my walking around Avalon today and noticed that a lot of the stores were very empty, even Lululemon. I browsed but nothing caught my eye. As I was walking out, I also heard another customer remark the same sentiments. Now that I think about it, I haven't bought anything from Lululemon this year. 😮 I think I may put in a Varley order before the end of the month though.

Now for today's post, we have the Mulberry Small Antony Bag in their Legacy NVT leather. I was eyeing it for a little while and caved in when it went on sale. Mulberry announced they are actually lowering their prices of their bags to under $1400. I am not sure when this will role out because I see the Bayswater tote still costs $1695. I think it's fantastic that they are making their bags more affordable.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.

This bag caught my eye because of the retro vibe, especially in the Legacy NVT leather in Oak. I am a sucker for a rich chestnut brown leather bag. I am not sure when this started, but I have a small collection of bags in varying shades of brown now. I'll have to do a group shot one day.

This is a small crossbody bag that is perfect if you only carry your essentials. Don't forget to check out my video to see what fits. The strap is fully adjustable but not removable. I kind of wish all bags these days would give you the option to remove the strap. This strap is made of thick cotton canvas. The color of the strap is a medium brown. It goes nicely with the Oak leather.

One thing I would like to point out, the strap is attached to the top of the bag, and not to the sides which is what I'm used to. Because the bag is also very narrow in width, it is somewhat of a challenge to get it over my shoulder when I'm wearing a bulky coat. The straps do not fall out to the sides and prefer to stay straight and narrow because of how it's attached at the top of the bag. Just something I wanted to mention. I've never come across this before! The crossbody strap hugs the body more so than I'm used to.

Let's take a closer look at the details of the bag.

This is their Legacy NVT leather. NVT stands for Natural Vegetable Tanned leather. It's a more natural process with minimal finishing on the leather. You can see the variation in the grain of the leather and it has a very nice feel. Because of this, the leather will patina over time. If you're a leather lover, this feels nicer than their Classic Grain leather. I used to have the Amberley bag in the Classic Grain but wasn't a fan of how stiff it felt. The small grain is printed on and then the leather is lightly finished with a protective coating.

As I mentioned earlier, the strap is attached to the very top corners of the bag. I do wish the straps were removable. The hardware is brass. The stitching looks very tight and clean. I love the contrast stitching, it really makes the bag pop.

The edge coat paint looks very nicely done. I do not see anything that looks worrisome to me. It's very clean and neat.

Here's the back of the bag. I kind of wish there was an additional slip pocket on the back for receipts or maybe a pocket for a phone.

The bottom of the bag. I really love that contrast stitching!

There is a small front slip pocket underneath the flap. It's small, but I use it to stash receipts in there. The brass hardware is still nice and shiny at the moment. It will eventually scratch the more I use the bag.

Inside is lined with suede. I really love suede lining, it makes the bag feel extra luxe. This bag is small. I would say it might be too small for most people. However, Mulberry does make a larger version of this bag. I went with the small size because of how petite I am and wanted a bag to look proportionate to my frame.

I think for $595, this is a very high quality bag with amazing leather. I wish Mulberry would release the Alexa bag in Legacy NVT leather because I would totally buy it. At the moment Legacy NVT only comes in two styles, the Antony and Bayswater. The Bayswater bag is a large tote and not really my style. But the Alexa is totally me. Let me know what you think of this bag and what do you think about Mulberry lowering their prices? I love that. While everyone else is raising their prices, they're actually lowering it! What an amazing brand. I'm definitely a fan.

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

  1. What a beautiful purse!

I’m in for a no-buy in March. I am so tired of winter! When Athleta had the 25% off selected travel/spring things this past weekend, I ordered a few things in anticipation of (someday) spring. I got a pair of linen pants, a poplin shirt, and a shoulder bag. Sorry, I do not know the names off the top of my head.

    1. Thank you! Sounds like a nice haul from Athleta. I did the same. My order just came in. I'll have a review up soon-ish! Let me know what you think of their linen pants. I have been eyeing but did not get those.

  2. Mulberry is decreasing their prices!? Love it! I have a small Bayswater, a small Leighton, and the Del Rey, all in black. I love Mulberry purses. I would love a small soft Bayswater in Night Sky, which is totally not my usual shape, but I think it’s beautiful. And I have always, always wanted an Alexa, but they’ve never had one in a color I want with silver toned hardware.

    1. Hi Julie! I do want a small Bayswater in this leather. Hopefully they will bring it back in stock. Night Sky is very pretty. Alexa is on my wish list too in the NVT leather.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
