Fit Review! Aviator Nation 5 Stripe Hoodie Faded Mocha, Faded Water, Faded Berry 20% Off Sitewide

Happy Friday! Before we begin, if there are any Florida readers- watching Hurricane Milton head towards Florida after Hurricane Helene was just awful. I hope you're all safe.

I wanted to get this review up two weeks ago but then Hurricane Helene and New Orleans happened. My apologies to those waiting for these photos. Aviator Nation 5 Stripe hoodies are still my absolute favorite hoodies. Hands down. I wear these all the time, way more than my Scuba hoodies. When Aviator Nation dropped these faded hoodies, I jumped on them as they tend to sell out quickly in my size.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and wear size XS in Aviator Nation. I also wear size 4/6 in Lululemon tops.

Faded Berry is really pretty, kind of like a sorbet color. The faded areas are mainly in the front by the pockets and on the back of the hoodie. I didn't think the one I received was overly faded. I think it looks a lot like the stock photos on the website. The fading is only noticeable if you look closely, or know where to look.

I'm wearing size XS which is my usual size for 5 Stripe Hoodies. The cut has changed over the last year or so. It's not quite as fitted as they used to be. I am assuming they are jumping on the oversized trend and changed the fit to more relaxed. The length is also slightly longer as well. They hit near the top of my thigh in the front and almost full coverage in the back.

Of the three colors I bought, Faded Berry is my favorite. Faded Water reminds me of a summer blue sky. The fading is slightly more noticeable on the blue.

Fading is more noticeable on the front.

I actually really quite like the relaxed fit. The draping on the back is really nice. These hoodies are hands down the most comfortable. The inside is lined with super soft fleece. These hoodies are pricey, but I promise you that I wear them so much that the cost per wear is nearly zero. I can't say the same about my Scuba hoodies at all.

I had such high hopes for Faded Mocha, but the fading is the most noticeable in this color. The fading also looks slightly yellow, which I'm not a fan of. The Mocha color I absolutely love. It's a gorgeous purple with brown undertones. If Aviator Nation released a 5 Stripe in Mocha without the fade, I would be all over it.

Not digging the fading on this one at all, the front almost looks dirty or stained. 😐 The fit on this one was also bigger than the other two colors. It was more roomy in the body and stomach area.

I did end up returning this one and exchanged it for Faded Grape! Faded Grape was just released this week and I fell in love! I hope the fit is more like Faded Berry and Faded Water. Seems like Aviator Nation isn't always consistent with their sizing these days.

That's it for me! Let me know what you think of these faded hoodies. Do you love them or hate them? Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Thank you for sharing these!! I absolutely love both the berry and grape! The berry is lovely on you!! I can't decide. I'm tempted to get both colors, but I have many AV sweatshirts. The AV collection has over taken my Lulu hoodies for sure. Like you, I just don't reach for them much anymore and it used to be all I wore. I'm not ready to get rid of them though. Most of mine are from 15 or so years ago when the quality was very high. I know I won't find anything as well made by Lulu again. I'm sure I'll come back around on wearing them at some point.

    1. Hi Stacy! Yes! I have so many AN hoodies but I still have 4 Scuba hoodies that I wear occasionally. The tight sleeves on the original version is kind of annoying. I like the OS Scuba Cropped version but I don't grab them as often as AN. AN is just so comfy. Let me know how you like the Venice Surfer hoodie. I'm sure they will restock in the 5 Stripe. They're too popular not to!

  2. They don't have either color in my size during the sale, so I decided to try the grape color in the Venice surfer design. I'll have to see if the berry comes back in the stripe.

  3. Faded Grape is prettiest in my opinion! I was tempted to get the Lululemon Scuba Hoodie in Nightfall (sold out now) but honestly I don’t need another tight fitting hoodie. The AV ones look so comfortable but there are only limited colors and styles on Canadian online stores that carry the brand.

    1. Hi Janessa! They are super soft but they will pill. That's probably the only thing I can say about these hoodies, but as much as I wear them, the pilling is appropriate. I just got the Faded Grape and I love it!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
