Hello from New Orleans! There was a Lululemon a few blocks from our hotel, so of course I had to go. No Athleta though, that was farther away. Tried on a couple of jackets now that "fall" should be on its way.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops.
I've tried on the Always Effortless Jacket before but the colors never looked cute enough on me to buy. Well, until I tried on Bone! I'm wearing size 4 and is slightly loose on me, but perfect for layers.
Fit is slightly boxy, sleeves are a bit longer as usual and length hits at the hip. I think it's a great casual jacket. I do love the extra pockets.There's a stowable hood and cinchable hem at the waist to customize your fit. There's a very soft lining on the inside along with interior pockets. I am loving all the storage. I took this one home with me and looking forward to wearing it!
They also had the Rain Rebel Jacket in Bone. I'm still very much into my neutral phase. The store didn't have a size 4, but they had a size 2 for me to try.

This kind of reminded me of a doctor's coat in the bone color, but still cute. The size two fit everywhere except for my hips when I zipped up the jacket. It pulls a little bit. I would definitely need a size 4 if I wanted to layer. It was too perfect in the armpit/chest.
Overall, a cute raincoat if I needed one! It comes in 6 colors right now and Filbert Tan and black would be my pick for this rain coat.
Here are some other goodies I saw at the store. The Scuba Oversized Full Zip Hoodie Rose Blush/Gold is super pretty, but I think Deep Luxe/Gold is hard to beat at the moment. What is it with gold zippers that just makes everything prettier?
These belt bags in corduroy are super soft. I was actually pretty tempted to get one when I was there. It's too bad Janessa says the stretchy band that holds the strap in place loosens pretty quickly. Janessa had to alter hers to make it stay in place. That makes me sad for such a nice looking bag and especially for the price of $58.
I also got to look at some more Cactus material items. The Everywhere Belt Bag was perfect in person. I do think these need to be bought directly from the store so you can inspect the condition. The Cactus Material Card Case was better than I expected. I think the card case could pass for real leather. Especially in the Barracks Green/Gold combination. For $58, it wasn't bad. If I needed a new card case, I would consider this. It has card slots on one side and a zippered opening for more cards or receipts/cash with another card slot on the front.

ReplyDeleteI wasn't a fan of the Always Effortless Jacket until I tried it on. I did size up as size 2 was too short for my liking and I actually love the oversized fit. Bone is lovely but I know it will get dirty around the cuffs in no time so I went for Taupetastic (the gorgeous color was the reason I gave AEJ a try). I recently got the same jacket in Oil Grey and It's a lovely grey with blue undertones.
The Everywhere Belt Bag in Corduroy is so cute! I'm looking forward to more holiday accessory items and I bet there will be a corduroy shoulder bag or crossbody bag coming up! :)

The Another Mile Jacket is so pretty in Oil Grey. I didn’t have time to try it on but looks like it’s a size-up item. Not a bit fan of fitted jacket but if the Wunder Puff Jacket comes out in Oil Grey, I will be in big trouble lol.

DeleteThe always effortless jacket looks great on you! It’s so pricey though. I got mine years ago for $69 and I haven’t gotten another. I went in store to check out the corduroy belt bags and love how soft they are! I want the blue one… which I wouldn’t mind having to alter but I’ll wait to see if I can get it on sale.. -Janessa
