New Releases Week of August 27th 2024

Lots to talk about! This was a big drop for the end of the month. We're definitely well into fall clothing. Would love to see more Iron Blue! This Scuba is amazing but I would only consider the Oversized Full Zip Hoodie. Softstreme Voluminous Sleeve Pullover looks lovely, but none of the colors are appealing to me. The star of the show goes to Boxy Tote Bag 10L Sketch Toile Turtledove Navy/Obsidian. It also comes in a mini size and I do think I'm going to order both because they remind me of Dior Book Totes, but I am not going to pay $3000 for one! What do you think of today's drop? Jared chimed in on a couple of things! Check it out below.

(Not gonna lie, I love Iron Blue, but I don't need another Scuba Hoodie!)

(Happy to see more items released in Taupetastic!)

(I would be interested in trying this, but none of the three colors appeal to me.)

😳

(This looks so pretty in this color! 😍)

Husband here: Um....so much wrong here. Besides those hip holes looking like they'll tear easily as you put on and take off the leggings, what about sun tan lotion? Are people who buy these going to remember to apply sun tan lotion before putting them on? I honestly don't get it. There are other ways to be unique and different. Besides from what I gather, most women want clothing that has pockets and here comes Lululemon with "oh, you want pockets? How about we give you even less material where they would normally be?"

(These look a lot like a pair Athleta joggers I used to have. These don't look as petite friendly though.)

(Would love to try these, but the length is still 29.5" long. They look perfect for the office.)

Husband here: Tell me you grabbed clothes off the chair before leaving the house without telling me you just took whatever was lying on the chair. And clogs? I had clogs in cooking school. Never wearing clogs again.

(This is a no for me! Reminds me of something I would see in Chinatown for like $20.)

(I got this last year in black and really like it. Here's my review.)

(Dior Book Tote, anyone?)

(This has potential, would like to see it in another color.)

  1. Hi Leslie,
Iron Blue looks gorgeous but like you, I really don’t need another Scuba Hoodie. :(

I gave in and ordered the Always Effortless Jacket in Slate Brown cos I’m curious if the color will work for me. Will let you know if I like the color in person.

Cupro Foldover Relaxed Yoga Pant is very similar to Athleta’s Studio Jogger except that the latter has cuffs. I must say those are my favorite loungewear.

I’m definitely interested in the Softstreme Pintuck MR Pant and wish it was a couple inches shorter!

So looking forward to more fall colors!

    1. Hi Andrea! Oh wow, let me know what you think of the AEJ in Slate Brown. I was undecided on that color.

Yes! Athleta Studio Joggers were amazing. I'm so sad they discontinued them.

  2. I'm with you guys about the Softstreme Pintuck Pant. Love them! Too bad they're too long!

I like the Voluminous Sleeve Pullover too, but I wonder if it will be too much fabric? I might give the Cupro Boatneck shirt a try. It looks so sleek! It's so nice to see some new styles!

Your husband's comments are hilariously spot-on!

    1. Hi Lola! Maybe they will release a crop version? I would totally get them for the office.

I love the look of the Cupro Boatneck top, but I already know I wouldn't be able to pull that off. It really looks cute though.

  3. I really like the cut of the Cupro top...but hate Cupro. I wish it was pima or Vitasea. The Pintuck Pants are nice! We got them in store last night, and I'm a little tempted. Softstreme is just so heavy and usually way too hot for me.

We also got a ton of the "Tennis Club" sweatshirts in. They are a spacer material on the outside and super soft, fluffy, thick fleece on the inside. The embroidery is nice, but I don't understand why they mixed it with printed text on the back...and so much random crap. The price is very high, but I do like the material. (Too hot for me, though.)

LOL at the WP Long comment! It looks like she hastily threw on clothes and shoes to help mom get groceries out of the car.

    1. Hi LZ! I had a couple of Cupro pieces before but I ended up selling them because of the style but I loved the fabric. I do recall it being a bit clingy? Not sure if that's the right word. Is that what you didn't like about the fabric?

Agree Softstreme is on the heavier side. Seasoft is a bit lighter and better for year round wear. If you get to try them, do let us know what you think of the fit.

Hmmmm, I would try the sweatshirt but maybe if they released it without so much stuff on the back LOL. It sounds like heaven! Spacer material and soft fluffy fleece? Love it.

Glad you are all still loving Jared's comments!

    2. Cupro reminds me of a microfiber towel. It makes me feel like it's drying out my skin!

I'll try on the Pintuck pants tonight - will let you know how they fit.

    3. Ahhhh I can see that. It does have that kind of microfiber feel.

      Thank you so much!!

    4. Just tried them! They are really nice and could totally work for the office. An XS fits like a 4. The tag says they are 31.5”, so I would need to hem them.

    5. Thank you so much!! Are you going to get a pair?

    6. I would consider them on sale but not full price - only because I work from home and don't have much use for them. :)

  4. The slouchy sling bag is so cute to me but maybe I just like the color name ‘fawn brown’. I also like that boxy bag and if you didn’t tell me about the Dior bag I would have no idea (since I don’t know anything about bags) but they do look similar! The Softstreme pintuck pants in bone are soooo pretty but not something I need or would wear often cause I have a dog and I can see paw prints all of that not coming out… haha your husband’s comment on those pants. What a bizarre design those are… like who approved those?? I also saw the tennis club sweater in store and it’s very well embroidered and the inside is soft and fuzzy like Aritzia cozy fleece but it is super tacky and not something anyone would wear except maybe tennis players… for lounging…

    1. Hi Janessa! Agree with everything you said. I'd like to see how the sling bag looks unstuffed. Maybe it will be more molded to the body. I did end up ordering both of the Dior looking totes! I'm actually really excited about them. Love the Softstreme pintuck pants, but hoping for other colors. I would just get Bone so dirty. Could go for black, but would prefer a color though, a gray would be amazing. Even a tan beige color. Would be so good for the office. Yeah the tennis club sweater is so odd... they didn't need to ruin it with all the stuff on the back!! I have no words for those weird cutout tights, lol! Jared said it all for me.

  5. I was so curious about the boxy tote. The pattern really caught my eye. I don't really need a bag but I couldn't stop thinking about it and when I saw that you ordered them, I had to order one too, just to see and feel what it's like. I might end up returning it but better than waiting until they're sold out then regretting not buying it. I ordered the mini one. :) cindy

    1. Hi Cindy! I just got them in today. The fabric is kind of puffy, not like the puffer jackets, but it does have some squish factor. Quite soft with a slight texture. Never seen that before on a bag. But I do like the design. I'm not 100% sure I'll keep them, (I ordered both sizes). Pattern wise, I think the larger tote looks nicer. But the smaller size would probably be more useful for me. I may end up keeping both! Let me know what you think when you get them!

  6. Will you be doing a review on them? I know what you mean about liking the pattern on the larger one more. It’s like there’s more surface area for the pattern to really show. That was my first thought too when I saw them online. I saw the large tote first, then when I saw the smaller one I thought hmmm the pattern on the bigger one is nicer. Do you think the pattern is the same on all the bags or is the fabric randomly cut?

    1. Yep, I'll have a review coming up next week! I'll have a Youtube video and a blog post. I do not think the pattern is the same on all the bags. My small tote looks different from the one shown on the website. So some may be prettier placements than others. I'm pretty happy with both of mine though!

  7. And same here, I think I’d use the smaller one more, hence I only ordered that one. The larger one would be great if I needed a work bag

  8. I received my mini printed tote today. I didn't realize the material is krinkly. I'm not sure how i feel about that. I'll have to think about it.

    1. Yeah I didn't realize that either, but I actually kind of like it! I like how soft it is.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia. Anyway, today I have a belt bag size comparison review for you all! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
