New Releases Week of August 20 2024

Not much of a drop today. I am happy to see more Spacer items back for the fall, but hoping to see it in a full zip hoodie. I'm trying to stay away from more pullovers. I have way too many! I do like Slate Brown, I think it has a lot of potential and it looks great in the Always Effortless Jacket. Nothing for me this week! I did place a rather large Athleta order. They definitely have my attention these days!

P.S. Husband dropped some comments below. 😆

Da Husband: This looks like it was inspired by Sonya from the "Mortal Combat" series of games. Is the model taking a hike or preparing to break down a door with the SWAT team?

(Even though they made some changes to this pullover, I am happy to see it back. If anyone wants to see my fit review from three years ago, here it is!)

Da Husband: I'm confused. Is the area in the middle the waistband of the pants or the bottom part of the sweater. I feel like they should've at least had the model wear contrasting colors.

Da Husband: The late 80s called and wants its "United Colors of Benetton" ad back.

Da Husband: I do like this. This looks comfy AF and I dig the color. If they released this for men, I'd be all over this for walking around the house this fall.

Da Husband: No. Just no. It looks too much like a tablecloth my grandma used to have on the dining room table when it wasn't a major holiday.

  1. Hahah I am glad to see your husband back with his comments! I do like the always effortless jacket in Slate Brown! I wonder what that color looks like in real life! That soft jersey pant looks so comfy and something I’d buy on markdown or a color I really like though not likely… United Colors of Benetton wow I had that when I was little. I’m glad you’re back Lesley (:

    1. Hi Janessa! Vuori has something pretty similar to the Soft Jersey line. I'm so sad Lulu and Vuori do not make petite lengths or I would be all over it.

    2. Nothing for me this week. lol at your husband’s swat comment!

Slate Brown is very similar to Dark Olive and probably why it recently all went on sale. I think it should have more of a “green” name, as it does pull green.

    3. Thanks, LZ. Like Janessa, I’ve been eyeing the Always Effortless Jacket and wonder what that color looks in real life too. Was hoping that it had a hint of grey instead of green.

  4. Ohhh I like the jacket too, but I also have way too many jackets now in various lengths, thicknesses, colors, hood options….. the full flourish pull over looks nice, I will have to try it on the next time I am in there. Your husbands commentary are always welcome 😂

  5. I was interested in the Always Effortless Jacket in Slate Brown but if the color is more like Dark Olive according to LZ, it’s an easy pass for me. I’m hoping the jacket will come out in Oil Grey.

Your husband’s comments cracked me up, Leslie! :D

    1. I don't think Leslie would label me as a joy. It's more like she tolerates me.

    2. So she tolerates your joyfulness. ;)

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
