Fit Review! On Cloud 5 Waterproof Low Top Sneakers Rose/Fossil

I've been seeing On Cloud shoes everywhere I go these days. I purchase one pair a few years ago and liked them enough, but not nearly as much as my Allbirds. I decided On Cloud was worth giving another try. I browsed around and saw a cute color in Rose/Fossil combination and placed an order.

For reference my street size and Allbirds size is 5.5.

Right out of the box, these look cute in person, but I definitely think they looked better on the website. The fabric on the upper part of the shoe was not smooth and had quite a bit of wrinkles and indents. The sole looked a little clunky in person.

The colors are very pretty, the mauve/pink with the gray accents I thought looked fantastic together. I love not having to deal with tying shoe laces with their speed lacing system. They do offer a pair of regular shoe laces if you wanted to swap them out, which is nice.

The sole offers a lot of traction and stability, but looks a bit clunky like a set of crooked teeth to me. 😆

I did notice right out of the box how stiff these feel. The padding around the ankle felt bulky and too thick.

Padding around the heel is way too thick.

I purchased my usual size 5.5 and wearing medium thick socks. These felt a bit big for 5.5, but on the small side of a size 6. (I really hate when that happens and I'm in-between sizes.)

Even when wearing these, I can still see the wrinkles in the fabric.

My other issue with these shoes, is the sides come up too high and they hit my ankle bone in a really bad way. I can tell I would get blisters and cuts if I wore these shoes for too long. In the end I decided not to keep these and returned them. I guess I'm an Allbirds fan still! I find them so much more comfortable than On Cloud, but maybe that's just me.

That's it for me! Here's to a fantastic first week of June!

  1. Great review! They look a bit like hiking shoes. Nice color though. Cindy

    1. Hi Cindy! They do! Can't imagine hiking though in these. Not comfy imo.

  2. Thanks for the great review, Leslie! I agree that the shoes look better on the website pictures. Way too bulky and look like hiking shoes as Cindy mentioned.

    1. Hi Andrea! Agree as well. Quality seemed good, but too bulky and stiff. Allbirds are still my fave!

  3. Great review, I’ve always wanted to see what all the hype was about. I noticed how wrinkly it was right away, and not sure if it would improve with wear. What are the additional 4 loops for near the toe box, so the laces can go lower? Good call returning, I would too.

    1. Hi AC! I don't see how it would improve either. And for the price, not great. I think the 4 lower loops are if you wanted to wear traditional laces. You can swap it.

  4. Thanks for the review, Leslie! I've been interested in Ons but have always thought they were a bit of an eyesore. I could get over that if they were incredibly comfy, but it doesn't sound like that's the case.

I still need to try Allbirds. I don't run (hah!) but am on my feet for hours at work - standing and walking and def need something supportive and comfy.

    1. Hi LZ! I have to agree, I am not a fan of the soles looking like teeth.

I don't run either, but I find Allbirds to be most comfortable for everyday walking. Although I did run a 5K today to get a badge in my Tree Flyer 2s and I was surprised at how well I did! I haven't run in forever, and I managed to do it in 35 minutes. I'm happy with that!

  5. This review is spot on! I returned these because I didn't like the "crooked teeth" and "wrinkled" look. They are stiff, and I felt that ran small in the toe box even though I sized up from a 5.5 to 6. Out of the box, they seems to have a lot more support than All Birds. I'm still looking for a good waterproof shoe or sneaker.

    1. Hi there! I recently tried another pair of On shoes that I liked better.

I also tried a pair of Hokas that I also like. Hokas are not waterproof though. The On, might be? I am not sure.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
