Fit Review Friday! Athleta Avenue Wide Leg Cropped Pant Petite and Regular Length

Happy Friday! I cannot believe it's March 1st! February flew by in a blink of an eye. I am currenrly loving Lululemon's Iron Blue and Athleta's Granite Blue. Both blues look very similar, at least they do on my Macbook. I haven't seen Iron Blue in person though. Granite Blue pulls more blue but with a dusty gray base. It's very pretty and calming to me. I love it. When I saw this color in the Avenue Wide Leg Cropped Pant, I decided to place an order to try the petite and the regular length to see which one I would prefer.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Align bottoms. I also wear size PXS or PO in Athleta bottoms.

Granite Blue Regular Size 0

These are the regular length Avenue Wide Leg Cropped Pant in Size 0. They fit true to size. The length measures 25 inches long which is full length on me. The fabric is super thin, light and airy. These are perfect for warmer temperatures.

The waistband is mid-rise and hits right at my belly button. The drawstring can be cinched and adjusted as needed. They are semi-fitted throughout the hip.

The strip going down the side of the pant gives a sportier feel. There are two pockets on the backside and front pockets as well. Overall, they're comfortable and I think the regular length version on me is quite flattering given the wide leg style.

Next up, we have the cropped version of the pant, measuring at 23 inches in length. The only difference between the two pants are two inches in length. Two inches is not much of a difference in length, but visually I think they are less flattering and make my legs look shorter. Granted, I am wearing size 2P here and they are a little too big.

Granite Blue Petite Size 2

I really dislike how they make my legs look short, especially from the side.

I think for these to look more flattering on someone my height, the length needs to be even shorter. Maybe at 19 inches long, they woud look more like culottes. These would look better if a little bit of leg was shown. In this instance I preferred the regular length. Let me know what you think of these cropped pants!

That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Hi Leslie,
I'm glad the regular length works for you and it looks better on you then the petite length in my opinion. I have the same cropped pant and love everything about it - the feel of the fabric, and style and the gorgeous color!

I've been getting most of my bottoms from Athleta these days.

    1. Hi Andrea! Same here, Athleta has been my go to for bottoms. I also enjoy the Softstreme Cropped Pants from Lulu. Those work well for me too.

  2. hi Leslie! I agree that the regular length looks good on you! I still haven't fully embraced wide leg styles because I have trouble styling them with bulky winter clothing. I think it'll be easier in the summer, as I can just wear a more fitted or slightly cropped top. Please let us know if you find other petite friendly Athleta bottoms. There are so many styles on the website that it's a little overwhelming. Have a good weekend!

    1. Hi Karen! Will do. I'll take a look to see if there's anything else I would be interested in trying. Let me know if there's anything you would like to see reviewed.

  3. The regular length is definitely more flattering but I wonder if the petite length would look better if it was even shorter. And it all depends on the style of shoes you wear with it too. i know I have to be really careful with wide leg styles due to my short stature as I can end up looking frumpy if my top is too baggy, bulky or oversized. 1. Hi Cindy! I'm pretty sure if they were culottes it would look better. Same, generally wide legs would look better with a fitted crop top. But being so short, cropped wide legs are even harder to pull off.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
