Fit Review Friday! Store Try Ons Sleek City Jacket, Softstreme Hoodie, Athleta Alpine Wrap Sweater

Happy Friday! Can't believe next week is Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales already started. I'm trying to be good and wait as long as I can before putting in a Lulu order. I tried on the Sleek City Jacket in Bone last weekend and even though I didn't buy it, I can't stop thinking about it. I was going to cover the Black Friday drop only on the Lululemon app, but when I logged in I only saw 38 items and honestly, it wasn't even that good. What a disappointing drop!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops. I also wear size XXS/PXS in Athleta.

I'm wearing my usual size 4 and the jacket is a perfect fit. That said, there's almost no room for layering though. If you do want to layer, I would definitely consider sizing up. However, the sleeves are fairly long as is the case with most Lululemon jackets. The fit is just so perfect, I am willing to overlook that one thing.

This jacket has a snap closure without any zippers which means it may be drafty. The length hits at high hip which makes it look very sleek. I can see where they got the name from. Trust me when I say the photos do not do this jacket justice.

This is a lightweight jacket with Primaloft insulation. This would probably be a great jacket for warmer winters. I love the high collar to block out wind. It's super cute and petite friendly! It's totally on my wishlist. Price is $168 which doesn't seem awful.

I was very excited to try the Softstreme Hoodie in Espresso. I'm wearing my usual size 4 and love the casual fit. The Espresso color is a really nice soft brown. Softstreme sometimes has a similar look to sand wash to give the color a little more depth. The length hits at my low hip and it's the perfect length. Not too short, not too long. The fabric feels soooo soft. I really love this pullover hoodie and while I am interested in Espresso, I would like to see what other colors Lululemon offers in this hoodie before I pull the trigger.

I was curious to see if Athleta's Alpine Wrap Sweater was office friendly or something I could see myself wearing during the colder months. I'm wearing size XXS as this wrap does not come in petite sizing. The extra small fits very well without the usual sleeve length complaints.

Made out of a wool-cashmere blend, I found it to be very soft and cozy without being itchy. Spiced Cabernet is a lovely deep wine burgundy color that would be perfect for the upcoming holidays and fall/winter season. The tie at the waist is fully adjustable and it hits just around my belly button. $229 is pretty steep for this sweater wrap, even though it does feel like cashmere so I would wait for this to go on sale.

That's it for me! Let me know what you think of these items and what's on your wishlist? Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

  1. Thanks for another great review, Leslie!

The Sleek City Jacket looks really cute on you but sadly it will be too short on me even if I size up to 4. :(

I've been thinking of getting some Softstreme items but people keep complaining about water stains. The Softstreme Hoodie is petite friendly and looks so much nicer on you than on the model! It looks a tad short on the model but the length is perfect on you.

    1. Hi Andrea, I know a lot of people complain about the water stains, but they wash out. And it when it dries it's just a faint darkening that really isn't that noticeable to me. I don't know, it's not something that I find worth complaining about, but maybe it's just me. It's so soft and comfortable that I will wear it anyway.

  2. Those are great fit reviews! Everything looks great on you!

I purchased a Sleek City Jacket on WMTM a couple of years ago, and ended up selling it. The sleeve length annoyed me. I may be mistaken, but I think the older version had a zipper instead of snaps.

Glad to hear the Lulu Black Friday drop was uneventful. I was feeling pretty salty that the early access was on the app, since they discontinued the app for Android.

Allbirds Black Friday is calling my name. Trying to decide between the Tree Dasher Relay in Grey/Stormy Mauve, and the Olivia Rubin Risers. I'm loving that rainbow detail, but I know the Dashers will probably be more comfortable.

    1. Hi Lola, Oh really. I guess if the sleeves are that annoying I may have to reconsider. I only had it on for a few minutes while taking the pics. I was just so cute on!

Yeah you did not miss anything. It's not even worth talking about. What a joke! 38 items?! SMH.

Ohhhh I love the Tree Dasher Relay but I did try on the Risers they were very comfortable actually. I love the rainbow and would have bought that one if they had it in my size.

  3. I don't think you need to reconsider the jacket! It looks great on you, and the sleeves are totally easy to cuff up without getting bulky. Maybe Lulu could hem them also. My annoyance with the sleeves was just a "me problem", lol!

I went with the Dasher Relays. I decided the Risers might be a little too clunky for me.

    1. Is it your first pair of Dasher Relays? Let me know how you like them. The Risers are a little clunky at the back. But otherwise they are comfy and cute.

  4. That jacket looks soooooo cute on you!! I don’t even notice the sleeve length.
I still love softstreme even though it has the staining problem. Nothing beats the softness and coziness and that hoodie looks adorable on you. Cindy

    1. Hi Cindy! Thanks, I really want the jacket. I think I'll place an order during Black Friday sales. Hoping it will get marked down. Agree, the staining is worth the comfort for me! Team Softstreme all the way!

  5. Oh wow! That's quite the endorsement! I'm definitely getting it then!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
